Hallo ladies,

How is everyone doing?

I have been a bit busy at work lately but I tried to catch up on most of the posts. Seems like you ladies and your babies are all fine and growing nicely.

The only thing that is getting me down is the unbearable heat in Pretoria. We are currently in another heat wave and I am super sweaty.

I will be having my 32 week scan on the 25th of Feb.

End up spending too much time feeling them instead of doing work!!

@ monei, found out from Genesis if they offer ante-natal classes. Hypnobirthing is more about the birth, etc and not much about the practical stuff when the baby is here. I only did hypnobirthing and not anything else as I figured I knew the basic stuff and I was with my mum, and close by to my sisters so if I needed to know anything, they helped. I am unsure what antenatal classes focus on. I do recommend seeing a private nurse or going to a baby clinic a couple of days after the baby is born just to get reassurance that you are feeding, burping, taking care of the baby properly and to get advise/tips on anything that's concerning or bothering you.

Those movements are so exciting and magical! Especially coz I felt mine after 21 weeks and was wondering what's going on. I wish i knew whether it's a punch or kick or what... either they make me feel so special!

I'm well! finally decided to go with a private midwife at Genesis. will be seeing her for the first time next Friday so trying to schedule a 4D scan then too. Hope i'm not too late for that.

Are any of you attending ante-natal classes? would you say they are worth it? don't wana bore my hubby (also myself) with too many classes coz i'm thinking of taking the hypnobirthing ones after a friend highly recommended hypnobirthing for my natural birth ambitions.

@Sonsbaby, my photographer is based in Centurion and the package I rooting for is R4500 which includes 20 images of Maternity, newborn and 6 month shoot in a photobook. Most charge around R4000 for maternity and newborn combos with differences in images you get or extras. I have names of options if you are keen. I'm sure there are cheaper. Found most via google search and recommendations(other people used them)

Hope you are well and the babies are growing nicely. I have found my little one kicks a lot and its intense this days. I love it.

Has any of you had a babyshower as yet. My friends were planning mine secretly until they started fighting about the venue...lol well they eventually told me so that I can choose my ideal venue (craze friends). I just told them they can do it at my house and it will be combined with Nappy braai.
I was also asked to draft a list of people I want at my babyshower ohh boy!! the list was long I didn't know I know so many people

I still havent sorted my discovery thing out, the website keeps bombing out!!

@Jay-Bee01, Haha! Its definitely not an exam! Enjoy the course, and even if you feel a bit odd with the hypnosis bits, just go with it.

Hi Ladies

Just popping in to say hi, work has been so hectic and dead tired in the evenings. I very quickly went through the recent posts and everyone seems happy. I received my Vitality goodie bag which has some nice items and a R100 voucher from Baby R Us. I am going to collect my Dischem nappy bag next week, whoo hoo.

@ Blue, shoo your nursery looks amazing and your 4D scan is so cute!

@ Maj and Sons, I am also going to go for the natural birth without pain relief and starting the HypnoBirthing Classes with Kim Young on Monday. Everyone I know that has had children has either had natural with a epi or cesar . But I have spoken to Stella on another forum as she has also gone that route and I loved reading your story Maj. I told my husband we are going to be so prepared for the birth that it will be like we are studying for exams
