Thanks so much. I'll give them a call tomorrow and hopefully they have stock. You're a lifesaver :)

Hi Slimabaso,

Just quickly popping in here to answer.
If you are happy to use the government schedule, but dont want to face the clinics - find a local pharmacy that administers the government shots.

Not sure how close to you this is, but the Weltevreden pharmacy does this, you just pay a clinic fee (think its about R75) - they are on Beyers Naude drive and Acacia road. Just phone ahead, cause they have limited government stock, and it finishes quickly...

Hi everyone. My little girl just turned 6 weeks and is due for her immunizations now. I was wondering if any of you have any experience using government clinics or if I should rather go private and fork out the money. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm based in Randburg.

@ninies, your boys r very cute!!
@jay-bee, Rosalie does look like a doll. Glad u have sorta figured out why Rosalie is struggling. It's awful when you don't even know what the problem is!!
I agree with ninies, don't be harsh on yourself, do what's best for baby (incl taking care of u). That's being an awesome mum!!

Naseeha has recovered from the flu, though it now sounds like she is getting a cold
Friday was the first day without my mum around. At least the nanny was here on Friday so we muddled through the day. The weekend tho......
Naseeha gets overtired, and then screams and cries. Happens every evening! And then she just wants to feed! She feeds every 1 and half to 2 hours! It's amazing how quickly 2 hours goes by! I have no idea what's her weight like though. And she takes forever to sleep. 45- 90 mins of rocking for a half hour nap! Somehow after 11 at night things go well.she feeds and fells sleep quickly.
The winds seem to be ok, but I think the antibiotics have effected her tummy and she now has reflux! And poos a lot more often (but I think that's the probiotics that she is now taking!)
Ninies please tell me this 2 kids thing gets easier! Am always feeding or making Naseeha sleep and the bigger 1 needs my attention (goes to the toilet and needs help washing & wiping!) hubby has started doing bedtime with the big 1, but is not very successful at calming the 2nd one, and he can't feed her...

Hi Jaybee,

Thank you.

Wow your little Rosalie looks like a real doll! What a beautiful little baby. She is absolutely gorgeous.

We are doing well this side. Just trying to get through these very cold days we are having in Pretoria. We seem to have a good routine going now with both kids. My hubby is such a big help in the evenings - I dont know how single parents does it with small children. One of us would bath the older one while the other one is feeding the baby. It seems like everything has to happen all at once, but we are coping nicely.

How is everyone else doing?

Hi Ninies,

What beautiful photos of your children and those eyes are so stunning!

I was using the Pre Nan but since changing to Infasoy she seems to be slightly better but still doesnt poo on her own. Thank you for those words as sometimes on bad days I feel like a total failure but there have been good days when she drinks like a champ so hanging in there. I am used to 2 hours of sleep at a time but it feels like I need a holiday.

You are so lucky with the no winds, Rosalie has very bad winds and sometimes she cries with the stubborn ones. Otherwise how are you and have you gotten into a routine with baby and older brother?

Here is a pic of our little bundle

Hi ladies,

How is everyone doing? Hope you are all enjoying the time with your babies.

@Jaybee - Babies being constipated is just the worst thing. My first son was also on soy milk (Isomil) and he got so constipated that we also had to use the suppositories and Acculax. It is going alot better this time, seems like the NAN does not have any negative effects on our baby.

How is it going with Rosalie and the colic and the sleeping? Are you managing to get some sleep now?
Do not be too harsh on yourself about the bf! You are not a failure at all. You are simply doing what is best for your baby.

@MTC - Congrats on the birth of your little girl. She is beautiful.

@Maj - how is Naseeha doing? Has she recovered from the cold she picked up?

AFM - Luke is 8 weeks old today. We had first injections last week. He weighed 6.12 kg a week ago. He is in such a hurry to grow up. Even the 0-3 months clothes are getting to small now.
He is still a clock watcher - wants his feed every 3-4 hours. At night he just drinks and goes straight to sleep - no winds at all. He is such a blessing. I took the boys for some photos recently.
