Hi ladies,

@blou, glad i'm not alone. i'm doing well with accepting. Getting excited now. Tho we recently had the circumcision chat and hubby as a xhosa would prefer the lil man decided for himself. i'm tswana and we are happy to snip asap from womb. lol. so i'm sad for my lil man- hes got extra unnecessary skin to deal with. Anyways, he'll be fine.I pray he is brave enough to choose to get it snipped one day...at a clinic/hospital would be preferred.
LOVE what you've done with the nursery.

We are supposed to renovate most likely around the time i'm due. The sooner the better but it Will depend on when the plans get approved and rollover of other necessary assessments etc. I'll be at my mom's during that time as i do not want to deal with dust and construction etc.

Maybe i should pay Dischem a visit for this famous bag. i'll go buy some pregomega. swapped to pregnavit when i just felt exploited by the price of Pregomega plus. lol. But now i wonder if it's sufficient.

Went to check out ParkLane as part of my final steps in deciding where to give birth. Hmmmmm. Now contemplating possibly using a private midwife there. lol. Atleast i decided on a maternity and newborn photographer so that's one thing i struggled to decide on sorted.

ohhh wow Blou the Nursery looks beautiful and the baba looks cute. I will also be having natural with out any medication (Govt hospital). if i had a choice i will do epidural. the pain i had with my 1st born is still stuck in my mind even after 11 years. if you are strong and can endure the pain then go for it. i heard other women saying its liberating and it gives you a sense of power.

Hi ladies!

It has been quite some time since I have posted here, been so busy but want to give you a quick update, I will have to read and catch up on everything that has been going on here! :silly:

@monei, read your post that you were getting used to it not being a girl, I went through the same thing, so wanted it to be a girl, but had to accept the fact that my first born will be a boy, still getting used to the idea some days, but I know once he is here it will not matter. We plan to try again for the next baby in the future, hoping that we can get our girl, but will also be happy if it is another boy. Spent the weekend with friends, their little boy is 3 years old, and he is extremely busy and does not stop talking, he drove me crazy but I am an introvert so I think he was just a bit much for me, must say I started to worry again about our little boy, hope that he will be calmer because I worry about coping with such a busy, vocal little boy, but I am sure all will turn out fine, trying to remember that it will be different with my own child.

My last scan was on 5 January, at that time everything was looking fine, and baby was healthy, I will post my sonar picture! Can already see his little face! My next scan is actually tomorrow, so looking forward to that and will update once I have been there.

Nursery is basically done, we painted a skyline on the wall and added some clouds hanging from the ceiling, colour is grey and white, love the way it turned out. Now just need to make sure we buy all the little things that we do not have, will see what we get at the baby shower. I will include a picture of our nursery :)

I have been doing a lot of research, and really want to have a natural birth without epidural or pain medication, spoken to a few people but really concerned that the hospital will eventually do things that I do not want, not sure if I should rather go with a midwife at Femina, so many things to decide and I feel a bit overwhelmed, my gynae immediately said that I should trust her that I want the epidural, which already makes me worry, any ladies here have experience of natural labour without pain medication?

Will update on my scan tomorrow :) have a lovely day!

I have mixed feeling about January being done already. I have so much to do, but I am also so over work.

Hopefully i will be done with most of my projects anyway (and it will be the tail end of the last one). One of the other guys will just have to take it over.

The 4D scan, the hospital (Netcare) does it for free. I am going to have a tour of the ward, etc on the 16th feb and I can get the scan done at the same time-but I dont think I will do the 4D scan.
Im also getting really stiff, especially my right hip. It seems to be worse in the mornings, as I tend to sleep on my right. I have gotten an exercise ball to sit on instead of a chair. I used it alot during the 1st pregnancy and labour.

@CDLK i also used an agency for UIF the first time around, but I dont know if the system has changed.

Good morning ladies!

Cannot believe January is over already!! Time is really flying and it feels like there is not enough time to get everything ready for the baby! Hubby keeps telling me to relax there is more than enough time but it does not feel like it!

@Maj - yeah I'm a self confessed Google addict lol!! I google everything but must say research important stuff to death to make sure I get the correct information and don't believe all I read!

Thanks for the tip on the bag! I will definitely take my own stuff as well just incase they give the bag so late. Its actually stupid of them to give it so late as they advertise the bag as one with everything you will need for baby for the first few days!

@CDLK - I am also busy preparing everything at work for my maternity leave and starting to panic...there is so much to do and so many to train to do my work and seems so little time!! I want to go for the 4D scan but don't know where to go for one! Not even sure if there is a place that offers it in the Vaal triangle. Will most probably have to go to JHB or Pretoria for that. Anyone know of any places and how much it will cost?

I need to do more stretch exercises I am getting more and more stiff when I sit or lie down for too long! Then I walk like a really old lady till the stiffness goes away! :S

Before I forget I see takealot has a daily deal special on pampers nappies (New baby mini size 2 twin pack - 2 packs of 108 for R368), (Active baby midi size 3 twin pack - 2 packs of 96 R368), (Active baby Junior size 5 twin pack - 2 packs of 68 R368)

Hi there ladies

So glad to see everyone is doing so well and the babies are all growing so nicely. Can't believe we are already done with January and it's almost time for the first little ones to make an appearance!! So exciting!

I am still busy at work trying to get all sorted and train my staff to take over when I go on maternity leave. I actually can't wait. I used an agency the first time and will definitely do it again for the UIF. So much more convenient.

Also started with nursery, at first I didn't want to do it as we didn't use it really with my son however I decided this is my last baby and my first little girl so I'm going to just go ahead and do it. Haven't spent much on the furniture, bought from Mr Price and my mom will be making bedding etc. Also bought a camp cot to use in our room and all over the house. We at least have all the big things, now it's to stock up on all the smaller things!

Seeing gynae again on 8th and then I'll book my hospital bed. Prelim date for ceaser is 21 April so it's 11 weeks left then I hold my baby girl in my arms!!

Talking about weight, I picked up 8kg so far. Better than what I did with my son but I have noticed I am starting to really eat alot more and alot of the worng things!! Really need to watch what I eat going forward now. I don't want to pick up 20kg again :(.

Anyone going for a 4D scan?
