@ LisaMcK, I have no idea how you have the patience for renovations now! I am having some maintenance (cracks filled, painting, cupboard repairs, etc) done on the house this last week, and the contractor is driving me insane!

AFM, the appointment went well. Baby is growing and developing well. fluid levels, etc all look good. Thought I was 24 weeks and some days, but measurements are showing some at 25 and some at 26 weeks
Was a bit freaked when I stood on the scale!! it was a kg more than when I measured last week  I really need to increase my exercise somehow, and decrease my need for bread and cake!
of course it was not an issue for the dr.
Im looking bigger though, most people dont believe that I am only due in May!

Hi Ladies,

@Maj - goodluck with your appointment today, let us know how it went.

@Jaybee - love the colours for your nursery. It sounds so soft and perfect.

We will also not have a nursery this time. We did the whole nursery thing with my son and never really used it. The baby will sleep in our room for atleast the first 8 months.

@Jay-Bee, the cooler weather is nice.

No Nursery for us, baby will be in our room. Your nursery sounds sweet, very relaxed.

Baby has varying times. I haven't really noted it much though. but I think you notice it more when you are still.
I am really hoping for another late sleeper. My 3 yr old wakes between 7:30 and 8:30 on the weekends. Dont know what I'd do if she woke at 6:00! So I am really hoping that this baby is similar and doesnt wake in the early hours!

I have a gynea app today!

Hey Jay-Bee01

Your colours are similar to mine :) I am going with light grey walls, with one accent light pink wall. Against the pink wall will have the white wooden cot (personally made by my step father which includes a changing station, cant wait to see it)

Above the cot will have her name in white wooden block letters with a tatty teddy wall decal...

At the moment we are yet to start the construction on building her room and extending our lounge, but I am sure it will be done on time. Although I do plan for her to sleep with us in our bedroom for the first 3 months, at night only.

We are in the midst of completely renovating our kitchen and bathroom. First week into it and it is driving me insane already, all the tiles have been stripped off and I just feel like I constantly need to clean and dust stuff which I know is totally pointless! Even my poor dogs are feeling so unsettled...

Does anybody have dogs that are like their children - if so any advise on introducing your new born baby to them? This is something that is playing on my mind a bit and my dogs are super possessive over me.

I find my baby is moving a LOT and often wonder if she actually sleeps. When ever I put my hand on my belly she always starts moving for me, although she is definitely wide awake from 9.30pm as well. I get my husband to rub on tissue oil and tickle my tummy and she tends to follow our hands movements. I am feeling so excited and just cant wait to meet her now.

Hello ladies

How is everyone doing? Much cooler in Cape Town today and so happy about it. Have any of you started getting the nursery together or is baby going to stay in your bedroom?

I have cleared out our spare bedroom and cleaned out the cupboards. We are going to paint the room the weekend and then buy the wooden cot next month. I have decided with light grey walls, white furniture with touches of pastel pink decor such as maybe a slight pink stripe in a plain grey lampshade or something like that.

Also when does baby kick and move the most? My one is a late sleeper and wakes up around 10am then sleeps again, wakes up late afternoon then sleeps then BAM at 9-9:30pm like clockwork she moves and kicks like mad

@ ninies thanks for the info about dischem :) and i loooove the chilli cheese chips from steers!

@monie, welcome. I know what you mean about the gynae not hesitating to do a c-sec. Increasingly so you hear of more woman who want to have natural but it just ends in a c-sec. I plan to do what I did the 1st time around, dont go to the hospital very early! my daughter was born 20 mins after i walked in!

@licious was also wondering what a baby vac was. Saw it at dischem yesterday.

@monei - Good luck with your birthing decision. It must be a difficult one if you have options. I dont have any other option than a c-section, so it is one thing less to worry or think about.
Yes, you get the little light bulb one too, but that did not work for us.
