@Jaybee - I dont really have any cravings, but I prefer sweet stuff...the problem with too many sweet stuff is that it leads to thrush...
But I must say that I dont have constant hunger anymore like I did in the first trimester. I also try to eat more low GI foods (breads) etc for lunch to keep me fuller for longer.

I also just registered for the dischem baby bag. I am already a member of dischem, so now I just have to go and spend R 300 (does not have to be in one spend) and then they will contact me to go get the bag. But my Preg omega is already R 200 per month, so I will just buy a few extras.

You can also opt in for the baby club at clicks if you have a clicks club card. Not entirely sure how it works, but I think you get extra points when you buy baby and toddler stuff.
Most of my shopping is done at Dischem, but I see this month Clicks have the Johnson's 3 pack wipes for a good price at R 64.99.

@ Maj, I bought a plain sleeping bag from Ackermans but was thinking there might be better ones at Woolies with a nice pattern or something so want to go and take a look as well. You are just like my husband and don't fancy malls either :cheer:

@ Ninies, I have read that one always picks up much more weight with your second and i think it also depends on your structure and height. Remember it is also your baby's weight, water, placenta etc. I am also going to breastfeed and I know that helps with weight loss as well. Are you craving anything?

@ Sonsbaby, I hear you :P as I also find it difficult to bend down and pick things up, even getting up off the bed is a bit of a challenge. Told my husband from next month he is shaving my legs and I won't be able to reach :silly:
How does the Dischem card work? I want to apply for one but see that you have to buy a certain amount of goodies to get the baby bag is this correct? The bag looks so nice and I am sure the free goodies are going to be helpful.

@ Maj, thanks but i feel much bigger and heavier! My gynae says he would like me to put a max of 12kg in total for the pregnancy. With the rate I am going it looks like I will put on much more. The problem is I have a small waist and everything goes straight to my legs and thighs and i then look so un proportioned :( I started walking again just for 30 minutes twice a week and dance around a bit in the house. I found out that a swimming teacher gives aqua classes in her indoor/heated pool just around the corner from me for R60 per lesson which is for 45min. Was thinking of doing that once a week if my budget can stretch. Lol, it feels like I am waddling already too. Noo now you got me wanting cake, jummy!

Craving: I am craving anything sweet. Biscuits, cake, ice-cream, chocolates, cupcakes, chocolate peanuts.... see my dilemma! As of Monday I have gotten rid of all the sweet things and have some really sweet spanspek and peaches in the fridge which helps for a few minutes. I have decided that on Saturday or Sunday I will give into all my sweet cravings and will indulge but just for that day I hope.

Hi ladies,

Oh the dreaded weight issue!!!! :S By reading through your posts, you really have nothing to worry or complain about. I have already picked up 15kg+ at 27 weeks.
I picked up 26kg in total with my son. Just when I returned to my weight before me first pregnancy, I am back on the picking up wagon again.
It is terrible. That is also a reason that I have to try breastfeeding and follow a healthy diet so that I can try and lose most of it.
Someone once said that you picking up weight is a good sign that your baby is growing and is healthy....was probably supposed to make me feel better. So I have a much bigger problem than any of you by the sound of it.

@Sonsbaby - Thanks for the tip on the bottle warmer, I dont think I will buy one either.

@Jaybee - so glad you enjoyed your cruise. I cant understand why people would want to take a new born baby on a cruise...

@ Jay-Bee, how i wish I only put on 5kgs! Are you still walking? thighs and hips definitely end up chunky!
the non-disposable, not necessarily the bamboo types. Theres quite a few options out there, but I dont know if its going to end up being more of a hassle, life is complicated as it is! lol
What sleeping bag did you get? There are so many options!
its cooler in the mall, but i just do not have the patience in there! i can spend a max of half an hour, and then i just need to get out of there!

@ Sonsbaby, i also have the 6 alarms every morning, they start at least a half hour before i need to wake! and I am so slow in the mornings!
You need to put up a pic so we can see if you really are that big
I have pains running down my legs from about 3 months, had them the last time too. But if i sit for a little too long, i end up walking around like im 40 weeks pregnant! :woohoo:

Cravings: chocolate cake with extra chocolate icing on the side! one of he characters in my daughter's bedime story absolutely loooves choc cake, with extra icing on the side. And every night we read it and say tomorrow we are baking. But the thought of baking when I get home.....
Have also been craving licorice! and jalapenos (no together of course!! :silly: )

I haven't registered with Dischem yet. I actually need to sort my discovery vitality one out too!

Hi Ladies!!

@Maj don't feel alone while I'm at work I have all the best intentions in the world to do my walks and then stretch exercises at home but as soon as I step out of my air conditioned office they all fly out of the window  I am starting to struggle to bend down to pick stuff up loll I now have to think if its important enough for the effort hahahaha I think this is because I am carrying so low! And exercises in the morning?? I don't even try cause it takes about 6 alarms now to get me to drag my body out of bed  :silly:

@Jay-bee you lucky to only pick up so little so far! The only sweet craving I have so far is chocolate Icecream....mmmm :P BUT I have a really huge craving for tomato frittos urgh!! Its a huge problem lol! Glad your cruise went well with no sea sickness :woohoo:

What is everyone's cravings to date??

Dischem phoned me today and told me I can go collect my baby bag :woohoo: :woohoo: super excited as I have heard so much about these bags now!!

@ Maj, the cruise was lovely and luckily I didn't get sea sick but loads of people did with the hectic wind we had on Saturday. There were loads of newborn babies on board which I felt was not right.. anyway.
Yes the heat in Cpt is SO bad and I am constantly boiling and so tired.
I have heard of the Bamboo non disposable nappies but they needs extra care to be washed and certain detergent i think. Or are you talking about toweling nappies? I have bought Huggies size 1,2 and 3 so long.

@ Sonsbaby, yip the dreaded weight gain. I lost 2kg in the first trimester and since the second trimester till now (23W) i have gained 4.5-5kg. My weight gain has been on my thighs and legs as always and now really looks chunky.
I have really cut down on my sweet cravings but oh it is just so difficult as all I can think about is a huge packet of biscuits that I will devour in seconds.

AFM, I went shopping for some baby vests, wipes, sleeping bag and found the travel system I want (Joie Muze) and getting it the weekend yay. I am dying to go to Woolies today as I see they have bunny rabbits on some of their stock and thats my theme. Also its SO much cooler in the mall.
