AFM, 12 weeks and 4 days.. Had our 12 week scan yesterday and all is well with baby, growing well and measuring 1 day ahead... Baby is 6.1cm already! Had all the necessary blood tests done too, so those results should be ready next week.. Dr reckons baby is a boy... But he will confirm that on the 18 December... Medical Aid came back to me to inform me they will be covering the pregnancy and birth even though I've been with them for a month so that's a HUGE relief as we were preparing to pay close to R50 000 for the birth and hospital stay... If we had to pay cash...

@ JayBee: ohhh my word I will be so scared, I think you should hunt down the lady and lay a charge. you are right could have been worse and thank goodness you are fine and the baby too.

@Blou you are so lucky, with us here its 3 months unpaid

I forgot to mention, my work has confirmed that I can get 4 months maternity leave, with full pay, I just have to do some design projects from home, but that is so awesome, so been very blessed with that

Hello ladies

Sorry I have been so quiet, things at work have finally calmed down and our conferences are over. I will have to catch up on everybody's posts.

Had a scan on 5 November at 17 weeks, all is looking good with baby, gynae looked at the little lip and confirmed that everything looks perfect to her, we were worried about cleft lip and palate because my DH and my father in law was born with it, but baby's lip looks perfect so we are so thrilled about that, but deep down I always knew that would be fine.

I hope you ladies will understand, I am dealing with some gender dissappointment
Gynae confirmed that it looks 110% like we are having a boy, and I know I will love him and it will not matter, but I always saw myself with a girl, so getting used to the idea of being a boy mommy and I am a bit emotional about it, but I am also excited to meet our little man, it is just taking some time to get used to the idea, but DH is so excited for a son, so I am excited for him and with him.

We have decided that we will try for a second baby as soon as we are ready, so I am hoping and praying that if we are blessed to have another one, it will be a girl

My next scan is on 8 December. We bought a second hand cot, so now we can start painting and working on the nursery! It will be neutral with grey and white, and some hints of blue.

Any ladies in Gauteng that will be going to the baby expo? DH and I are going on Thursday 26 November, maybe I will see some of you there?
