@LisaMcK, it is strange that he has asked you stop dancing completely! But maybe the dr felt it was a bit risky.

I am still going to gym (a crossfit kinda thing), try to go twice a week, but the 1st trimester has been tiring so its just been once. Hoping I can go up to two weeks from next week. I haven't been pushing as much as before though.

@ Jaybee thats awesome about the downs screening.

@ninies, whats the sweets for? (think i might have missed that conversation  )

@Jaybee - Yes my son gets his sweetie from the jar every morning. He is in such a routine about it now, he does not leave the house to go to school without reminding me that he has not yet had his "baby sweetie". :)
Congrats on your down syndrome test results - that is awesome news and one less thing to worry about.

We are also going for our scan (20w) on 4 Dec. But I have booked our 4D scan for 24 Nov just to check all structural development etc.

@Lisa - 3kg in 18 weeks is so nothing. I already had previous baby weight I tried to lose when I fell pregnant and now I am just growing by the day.... :swear:
It really gets to me but then again I just have to think about all the ladies out there that would love to be pregnant and also how long we struggled...I will just have to try and lose alot of it after the birth.

@CDLK - Your work is very nice for paying you 50% without working for it. I am hoping I can also arrange something like that with my boss. But in today's economic situation business are really struggling and our company is one of them. So I am just hoping that the company will still be a float for a long time...

@ CDLK, I have not told my boss yet but planning to do so at the beginning of December when we have our meeting...yikes. We spoke about maternity leave before and seeing that I work from home he gave me two choices. Either I get someone else in for 4 months and then I have to claim UIF or I can continue to work from home and check emails etc a few times a day and get my full salary. I was thinking of taking two weeks off after the birth and then just doing light duty for 4 months. I don't have to leave my home office and most of my work is done via email so I am very happy about that.on't think that we could cope with a deduction in my salary.

@ Liza, I agree with CDLK and maybe just do some light dancing and having only picked up 3kg is great! I have a horse and used to ride +- 3 times a week for a few hours but now don't ride at all. I do walk 3 times a week for 30min but my waist is definitely increasing :)

@ MtC, your baby bump looks adorable! I will take a pic of mine tomorrow and post. I am getting a muffin-top I am sure :silly:

@ Maj, I am going to borrow my sisters belly-band soon as I think they are simply awesome.

@ Ninies, is your son still eating a little sweet from the jar every day? I still love that idea.

AFM got my Down Syndrome blood results earlier and it needed to be 1,000 or more to be a low risk and mine was 3,012 so we are super happy and all looks good. Going for my 16 week scan on the 4 dec and then not sure when again.

Lisa 3kg in 18 weeks is excellent! Why did your gynae tell you to stop? Do you have a high risk? That's strange that he told you to stop, I would think maybe cut it down but if your body was used to excercise before pregnancy it's believed that there is no reason not to excercise during pregnancy.

AFM, to be honest I am really unfit. I didn't get back into excercising after my son was born and I decided Jule this year I'm starting the Reboot program from Sleekgeeks and also starting to seriously gym again and bam! Little one surprised us ;). At the moment I'm just brisk walking and I got the preggie belly dvd so I 'll start with that as well. Actually can't wait to start asap again after baby is born. I had weight to loose and I'm scared I'll pick up alot again this pregnancy. So really trying to stick to eating as healthy as I can and not totally letting go. My age also doesn't help in the getting rid of extra flab dept

Hello Ladies

I'm no longer receiving notifications too :(

Maj you are so lucky to get so much time off work - I get 4 months off work, for which I get 50% of my salary for the first three months. Really wish I could take a minimum of 6 months leave.

However, I am lucky that my Mom is able to take care of our little one - ironically she is opening a day care next year :)
This is her first grandchild and she is over the moon and I have actually had to tell her to stop buying clothes - I have the whole first year sorted!

I am feeling massive already, I have put on 3kg and I am only 18 weeks. Starting to get heartburn and back ache. I used to dance 4 days a week for 3 hours a day but my gynie told me to stop and this no exercising nonsense is killing me - looking forward to starting yoga soon. What does every one else do in terms of keeping fit?

Hi Ladies,

Work has been hectic! been catching up on a couple of pages worth of posts!
@ninnies, I am also not receiving any notifications! I cant find the little box to tick either!

@Jaybee & CDLK, congrats on the baby girl! Little girls are fantastic! especially when they are toddlers and really girly-girls!!

@MomtoChloe, your bump is great. I really need to take a pic of mine!
theres another lady who is pregnant at the office. She is 6 months, but her bump is seriously tiny! If she was a loose top, u cant tell she is pregs!!   I feel I am bigger than she is!

@CDLK, sometimes I also wish i was a stay at home mum!

I told everyone in the office about the pregnancy last week. We get minimum 4 months maternity leave, but we can take more, but yr salary % decreases after 4 months. With the last pregnancy I took 10 months!! :woohoo: But I wasnt sure if I was coming back to work then. Also the co. had very few projects, so they had sufficient people to cover. This time around I dont think I can take that long, not sure if I want to.....

AFM, tiredness and nausea have finally eased. Heartburn is getting worse
and my clothes are getting tight! had to buy 1 of those belly band thing so i dont have to button my pants.
