Pregnancy is a wonderful experience!

My view about birth: do what is best for you and your baby. All every mother wants is to have a healthy happy baby! To me that is natural birth, and to other mothers that is a c-sec, its all about the circumstances.

At least your Dr told you such things after your MC. Mine told me I will be fine after 2 days following the D&C and I can do everything! and they booked me off for the week, so that I could emotionally come to terms with it. And that was it! nothing about periods, TTC, etc.
Needless to say i am going to a different gynea.

Perineal massage: I did some massaging with the 1st one. I did not need an episiotomy, I did have some tears and needed a stitch or two. So maybe I ddnt do enough (I was kinda weirded out by the process!)
The way I figured, rather try it (it doesnt take long everyday), and have a chance of not needing stitches, etc.

Girls what are your thoughts on Perineal Massage? I have read here and there that it can help reduce chances of episiotomy/tearing...

@MommywannaB - This is my first as well, so we are in the same boat. When I phone to book our antenatal classes the lady hosting it said we must start from about 28 weeks. Its a 8 week course and we should do it close to or due date as it will be fresh.

I have to agree with MommywannaB, I get quite frustrated with people telling me its better to have a C-section. To me its unnecessary surgery - unless its an emergency or other medical reasons -. If you can go natural then why not, support and accept our decision.

@Maj - I did some reading up on it after her post and it’s not always due to natural birth, you can even get POP from a C-Sec, it’s all due to the muscles and the ligaments stretching. That’s all I wanted to see I don’t really want to read into it I just want this pregnancy and baby to be my great experience.

I get really frustrated with people telling me things about natural birth, one example you are doing everything wrong to the baby by giving birth natural (like we were not made for it) everyone has their own opinion and preference just don’t judge.

When I had my mc people told me to wait at least 6 months before trying again but my dr said the sooner the better. And it took me 2 months and so far so good.

Don’t be I am praying that this baby is a sticky healthy little bean.

Sure hope so we need more boys. It’s crazy how the seasons works with girls and boys.

im so glad, we got pregnant so quick, though im super nervous, even worried about going to the gynea!!

POP - My personal opinion, know what it is, and what the symptoms are, but dont fixate on it, as a natural birth doesnt mean you are going to get it!

My first is a girl, DH really wants a boy!
I did a facebook search on some classmates when my daughter was born, from the 15 or so girls in my matric class, im the only 1 whose first-born is a girl, the rest have all had boys!! (and 2 have no children).
My parents have 5 granddaughters and 1 grandson.

So lets hope its time for boys!

Its time for boys, out of all my friends (we are 6) 4 of them have girls 1 boy and now maybe another boy lol. I am 14w6d today.

I was thinking of starting the classes when I am 25 weeks but not to sure if its to early. Its very hard to decide on things seeing its my 1st and I have no clue how things work and what I need (meds, hospital bag etc) So I will phone the MW and ask her what is the average

@MommywannaB - Oh awesome! I think this is the year of boys hey! Almost everyone I know are expecting boys. Amazing hey! How far along are you now? And have you looked at where you gonna do the classes yet?
