morning girls

hope you're al having a great time off
& for those of us poor @$$e$ working...hope this week flies by..lol

the aquarium was sooooooo nice!!!
zian ran around like a crazy chicken for 2 hours...he really enjoyed it...poor Chanel was exhausted coz he just wanted to show her all the fishes...lol
will def go there more often!!!
then we went to the waterfront....madness..grrrrr
everybody was battling to stay awake at 8pm..lol

Zian is at school this week stil, until thursday....thank goodness!!!
hopefully I wont have to come in on the 24th fxfxfxfx so we can do some x-mas shopping...yes, yes I know...crazy peolple, but my salary & hopefully bonus is not paid in yet, so hoping they treat us & do it today!!!
then next week I'll be at home, but on standby....really looking forward to it, coz I wanna do some baking & girly stuff with Chanel when zian sleeps.
poor dh has to work everyday exept x-mas & new years day...they are really busy.

today is spring clean day for my office. luckily the maid is here so were gonna wash the walls & really do a good clean

vix, hope Jono comes around with the bf xxx

really thought a lot about you last week....one of the guys that work with me...his son stayed with his mom in transkei for the first year & a half & then came home last week...was quite hectic for them coz he didn't want them, only cried for granny, but a few days down the line & he was so ma'vas....really cute lil guy
so please dont beat yourself up if Amu is a bit unsure when you get home xxx
dont want to upset you or get you worried, but just so that you are prepared xxx

Vix I do hope Jono takes to the breast soon but if he doesn't just remember he will still do great on the formula. I love reading how you describe different emotions to each kid we will live through your twin experience. Hope you do get more sleep and that Jono does settle into a better routine. Your life sounds so exhausting at the moment.

Simone Addy sounds like such a big girl now and so daring. Shrey is one of those kids that won't get on even the tamest looking rides. This weekend he refused to sit on the swing alone but when I sat with him he clung onto me for dear life and loved it lol. Wanted to go back the next day but on me again.

Mandy the tree sounds awesome. Hope the squabbles with dh are all sorted now.

Lelani how was the trip to the aquarium? DH & I love the one in Dbn as well & Shrey is getting very fond of it too.

Helen Nina is absolutely adorable. Sorry about the sore nipples, hope it stops hurting soon.

Lwasi Shrey mozzie bites have calmed down nicely due to the cream thanks for asking. Your last couple days so you be so excited to just spend time with Amu now. I can't wait to hear his reaction when he sees you xxx

AFM we had a nice but TIRING weekend and to be back at my desk this morning is not great.
Drakensberg was lovely. First time that we went to the southern berg (we usually do central berg) so was quiet chuffed with how gorgeous this side was. Had a long walk in the morning yesterday and my boy loved it. Very strange weather there though - had a cold morning, then warmed up a lot after 10 and apparently again after 2pm they had hail storm like the day before. Global warming is having horrid effects on the SA weather now
We left there around 12pm and drove straight through, just a quick stop for fuel. Shrey slept almost all the way and was in a great mood when we got to mils for late lunch. After we got home dh took Shrey into the pool - he didn't want to come out despite him shivering his butt off lol.

Hope everyone that's on holiday is having a great one and that you're all having great late sleeps.

Vix - Sorry your having a hard time BFing Jono, I can't even begin to imagine how much work it must be to BF 2 babies, let alone BFing 1 and expressing for the other!! Would it be worth seeing a BFing specialist to see if she can give you any help on getting Jono to latch again? Persevere with it, hopefully he'll get the hang of it. You timed it well that you have Elwyn to help you for these first couple of weeks As for C saying "no mommies" Oliver does something similar, if he walks into the room and I'm holding Nina and then hand her over to Theo he gets cross and tells Theo he must hand her back to mummy and vice versa if he walks in and Theo's holding her. As for bonding with Jono, it will come, it must be difficult to bond with a baby when he/she is fussy and it sounds like you have chalk and chees with Alex and Jono so that must make it even harder.

As for Nina being the perfect baby experience let me just say now that it couldn't be further from the truth lol. She's lovely and I am in love but she is much harder work than Oliver ever was, she gets the hiccups after EVERY feed so then needs to suckle to get rid of them, she battles with cramps/wind after EVERY feed and I cannot get them out, as a result I cannot just feed, burp, lay down as she screams the house down - and will do so for half an hour if I left her to it!! It makes no difference what I eat, she still gets cramps and does so even the couple of times she's had formula. 99% of the time she is either rocked or suckled to sleep as she will not go to sleep by herself. I know I'm making a rod for my own back with the rocking and holding etc but I'll carry on as is for the time being, maybe when she's 6weeks I'll start trying to find an alternative... Its not all bad though, she's spent the last 4 nights having a feed at 7pm then going to sleep between 8-9pm, waking at 1-2am for a feed an then sleeping again until 7am. So at least I'm getting a bit more sleep at night which is great, but she's still awake for around 1.30-2hours when she does feed because of the cramps.

Simone - Addy sounds like she's doing really well with the potty training I can't wait for the day we don't have to buy nappies anymore - going to be years from now lol!! And as for the roller coaster, maybe you have a little daredevil after all?

Lelani - Your day sounds lovely, call me selfish but I'm looking forward to the day I can have too much wine hehehe!

Anyways, I must go as I'm off to get the turkey etc for Christmas Day.

Hi all,

I am having trouble breast feeding Jono since getting home, he has only latched once since friday. I am still giving him breast milk but from a bottle which is mega hectic especially trying to BF another baby too. It's impossible for one person to feed 2 babies when one is on a bottle. I'm still trying everyday to get him to take the breast though, one day maybe he'll just take it. For now the bottle though inconvenient at night gives something for Elwyn to help with during the day. I'm trying to tackle the night shift alone because Elwyn is getting up with C in the mornings and allowing me to sleep with the babies. Plus I'll have to do it alone when he goes back to work anyway.

Alex is my little dream baby, he sleeps and eats sleeps and eats. Jono is a whole different ball game, he has hectic cramps if I eat anything other than boring plain food, he grunts and graons the whole time in his sleep and only sleeps 2hrs before becoming restless. He's really hard work, someone once told me that the good thing about NICU is by the time they come home the baby is in a good eating and sleeping routine but not my boy, oh no, he just wants to be held. Trying desperately not to give into that though because I did it with C and it caused endless issues so he's just going to have to get used to my eat, burp, lay down routine. Man but I have to be honest, 2 babies is flippin hard work! I really miss my sleep already. Because Alex is so placid our first week at home was really a lot easier than I expected. Jono just added some serious craziness to the mix, but I'm pleased to have him home none the less.

C seems to have stopped hurting the babies for now. He is being very gentle and kissing them all the time. He helps me change their nappies too. He gets highly upset when Elwyn holds a baby and he tels him "no, mommies!" So he has accepted that I will always be holding the babies but not his daddy. I said to C "are you my special boy?" And he said "no, Daddies" so I think he will allow the babies to be mine but he is Daddies. LOL Cute!

We went to fruit and veg yesterday and opted to take a trolley each to put a car seat in and C on the reigns pushing my trolley. Elwyn couldn't believe the amount of looks we received but I was too tired to notice. There is definately no way I go anywhere alone with all 3 kids, it's madness!

Lelani- I hope your day was good! I tried to take a pic on my phone but it was too dark and blurry. I'll try and get on the PC soon.

Julz- I hope a change of room helped with your sleep.

Lwasi- not long now!!! Your parcel should arrive at the post office tomorrow just take the tracking number with to pick it up, will send it now to your email.

Helen- oh man, I'm sorry your nipples are so sore! Ouch, can remember the pain from last time. I'm so pleased to hear Nina is growing so nicely! She really is turning out to be your perfect little baby experience (well besides chomping your nipples so sore)

I have this really strong bond feeling with Alexander, it's not the BF because I BF C aswell and never felt a bond til after 6m. Throughout my whole pregnancy I felt more 'attached' to Jonathan and was sure he would be my special little baby but since they were born Alexander has taken a bigger chunk of my heart. I think maybe I did distance myself from Jono in the begining to try and avoid too much heartache so maybe that is part of it but Alex is just that perfect little baby I was trying for in the first place. I wonder if it's also because he is maybe more like me? C and J have Daddy's looks and personality but Alex is completely different from them, he looks more like me and he's wayyyyy more chilled out and I suppose he kinds has my laid back personality (well until he wants food then he's not so chilled). It's really odd because it's not like I chose to bond more with Alex if anything I imagined it would be Jono. I never had this bond thing with C so it's totally new to me but I really kinda like it!

We had a great day. Went to church...Addy was great and asked to use the toilet at church. My sil was shocked cause they're battling with her lg 4m older.

Got home and slept for like freakin 2, maybe 3hrs? Woke up and Addy was asleep so g and I went to watch harry potter at cinema. Wow movies are expensive??? R170 for tickets, popcorn and drinks for 2????? I'm shocked! No wonder we don't go often!

We took Addy to 'play land' yesterday...whole lot of rides. She went on quite a hectic roller coaster.lol. She loved it... Went in helicopter ride alone, train, and car that went up and down. Kids bigger than her were crying but she was having a blast!

So nice to know there's no work tomorrow!

Hey gals we also just put our tree up and it looks beautiful regardless of the very few decorations I have ! Its mostly ribbons and one set of lights but we love it ! Feeling very relaxed. Must have slept for about 1.5 hrs today during cams long sleep. Squabbling with hubby already but not surprised really, we'll get over it...

As if Vix isn't dealing with enough, she's having power failures ! What next !
