Oct/Nov 2008 mommies!

Hi ladies,

Sorry not much time to catch up, just thought I'd pop in and say hello

Nina is lovely but exhausting, everytime she wakes up she is awake for 2 hours and that includes the night feeds grrrr. She seems to really struggle with winds so she's in pain when I lay her down so then she cries etc but hopefully it will pass soon, its amazing how much more chilled out I am about it this time. On the plus side she has dropped a night feed for the last two nights, hopefully she deicdes to make it a habit! I took her to the clinic to be weighed on Friday and the nurse said as she's so big I don't have to worry about waking her for feeds at night so it'll be nice if she decides she only wants one feed at night I'm persevering with the BFing, I decided I'd wait and see after I'd had her weighed and then make a decision after that as to whether to continue or not, she's only needing a top up maybe once a day and not every day. SO anyways, seems I'm doing something right, took her to the clinic Friday and she's clocking a whopping 4.5kg!!!!! Her discharge weight was 3.88kg so she's picked up a whopping amount in 2 weeks lol. Seems there is more substance to my breast milk this time round, hopefully I can carry it on successfully. My nipples are still mega sore but I just chew down on something when she latches and then after a minute or so the pain subsides, I'm hoping if I stick it out another couple of weeks the pain will ease.

Both DH and I got a crappy bonus from work but it was to be expected, just a bit disappointing.

Vix - sending strength and energy your way, can't imagine how exhausting it must be right now, at least you know that it will get better

As for noisy neighbours there must be something in the air, 3 of our neighbours are all having parties today!!

Sorry I have to cut it short there, must get some food down my throat otherwise no milk for my little ganit later hehehe!!

just wanted to say vix yeyyyyyyyyy jono home and as for hurting babbes sorry thats just normal lea smacks, puls, grab xen all the time i still dont leave them alone they just dont understand their actions yet and smacking an screaming back doesnt help we divert or restrain or keep away that the easiest and bonus is one of these days he will be biger then get his own back lol

Vix wow what a hectic eve u had, i really hope u were able to catch a few zzz today &that tonight is easier! Lisha enjoy your get-away! We have had a lovely day, went to the touchfarm, got breakfast 4rm steers, had a nap with K,then been swimming until now. Dh wants to go out 4 supper &movie tonight but will have 2 see if we can get my aunt to baby sit.

We've done a sort of spur of the moment trip to the Southern Drakensberg. Beautiful here but mum & I were awake packing and sorting out food stuff till around 12 last night. Then Shrey woke up at 1:30 because the mozzies have bitten him badly, shame he has those swollen bumps now Got some Antisan and it seems to help the itching.
My cousin & her family are here for the week and asked us to join them for the weekend & dh was really in the mood to get out and do something so here we are. Her 3& half year old has gotten ill so they took her to the doctor before they close for the day - wheezing etc so best get that seen to before tonight. Also hope this weather doesn't let us down now.

Vix sorry about the rough time. He could have nipple confusion. Maybe chat to a consultant. The other thing you could possibly do just to get him onto breast again is to put milk in syringe and drip it down the side of your breast so that he associates breast with milk. Actually I am clueless but just wondering what you could do to get him to latch. I can' t begin to imagine how rough it must be. I couldn't cope with one to start with! How is C?

Had a good day out and about. I visited two temples. The most beautiful, the Lotus temple and then Iskon (Krishna) temple.

I am going to try to get some shut eye. It is 4 here and I didn't sleep because I was too close to the bloody kitchen again. this morning I insisted they move me which they did so I will hopefully get a more peaceful night.

Vickie...neighbours hey??? Flip how annoying for u! Sorry the first night was so rough:-(

We had a terrible night with the party next door. The music was so loud our windows were rattling. The bass was terrible! G went to ask them to put a bit softer after Addy woke twice already. The guys agreed...but when g walked away the friend said 'vok hom!'! And they didn't put softer.

Addison woke another 2 times. at about 10:30pm they moved the party it seems....but just before 12 somebody pulled up with such loud music....my word! Then Addy woke again! They were banging doors and shouting. 10min later they pulled off. Only to make a racket again when somebody dropped somebody off again early this morning.

Addy woke crying at 5:25am....i almost gave her a hiding! I was so annoyed. she eventually calmed down...not sure if she slept again. G got up with her and did washing, dishes and washed Addy and her hair...and brought me porridge in bed.....so I guess I couldn't be too upset.lol
