Lisha the pethidene didnt work much, only helped the milder contractions but not the strong ones, i also felt drowsy and a little bit disorintated (i had bad reaction to pethidene it made me vomit over and over again so had to inject me with anti-nausea medicine as well)but after shower felt better.

Simone i can actually feel your excitement, if that makes sense lol. grrrr on your brother!!!!!!

vix I love your dream. I had one not long ago. I gave birth to a baby and loved the natrual birth. It was so awesome because the dream allowed me to experience it. Funnily enough in the dream I had further complications but this time I my Doctor walked in and I was calm and knew everything would be fine.

Helen yip sounds like you are well informed. From the research that I have done for other mommies, being cut can actually be worse and if the pushing is controlled (ie allow the midwife to guide you) then there is less chance of tearing. Epidurals prevent a mommy from feeling anything which results in a less controlled situation. Either way good luck. It is not long now and you have so many exciting things to come still like the sex etc.

Lisha does shrey have a fever or has he. Is it not maybe chickenpox? They come up with blisters.

Nicole see the thing is...the bottle IS ADDISON's equvalent of a night time dummy! lol. Last night I thought she was asleep so removed bottle from her mouth and she woke up moaning and kicking so I had to give it back! I really hope to get her off it in December.

I am SO excited about party. I woke up thinking today was Saturday! I tell you I was very disappointed...lol

Oh guys turns out it was not the drain...but a bin my BROTHER has next to his room (he stays at the back in a seperate room) and he put no black bag in and it rained in. I dont even know how long the bin was not emptied. My poor husband had to clean it before work..then my brother says: Well i'm not the idiot that decided to clean it by the back door???

WTF!! Instead of saying SORRY and CAN I HELP YOU??? FFS...days like this I get pissed off!

Lisha so glad the bumps seem to be subsiding. Saarah's turned into blisters so if u need anymore advice, ask miss k.

lol Nicole. I did also have pethadine but I don't about you but for me it didn't make pain any less. Just after Shrey was born I was exhausted and drowsy due to injection. I had lots of visitors that night but I was falling asleep mid conversation with them lol.

Helen, im not to sure if this will be of any help but just thought i would share it with you (dont think i ever posted my birth story as only joined this group when K was 5 months old?) Anyway i had natural birth and my labour progressed very quickly. i started having contractions at 02:30 am and then by 05:00 the pain was really bad so the nurse gave me pethodene (sp) to help ease the contractions, so at 07:30 when my doc came to check on me i was already 9.5cm dilated which was to late to get epidural. I am not going to sugar coat it, the pain was bad, i was prancing up and down the halls, and kept feeling like i wanted to pee, eventually the doc and the nurse banned me from going to the toilet in fear that i was going to push lol. At 08:00 the doc said it was time to push and I did (had the oxygen gas twice through this) after a few pushs the decided that they would have to cut me as it was a bit of a struggle, they did and one push later K was born. The cut was sore but managable sore, it only hurt the first time i had to pee. I bathed in epsom salts 2x a day and the cut was fine the 3rd day. Please dont think im urging you to go natural but i just thought id share my story as you said that you were worried about not having a epidural. I promise the second K was born all the pain dissapered it was like it never happend. ((hugs)) to you.

wrt bedtime bottle, K has one as this is the ONLY time he wants to drink milk. but i know it wont be (hope not at least) to hard to get him of the bottle as he has fallen asleep a few times without the milk bottle and only the dummy- the dummy is another story, its going to be really difficult to get K of that!!!

Vix - as long as C is brushing his teeth - thats what most important than what he is using to brush his teeth.
