Cols i dont know how people can afford to have tons of kids, a house and my worry is education, to put my baby in a good school when she is older...

the house we saw, needs like R500 000 renovations, DH wants to do DIY, he loves it but we have to weigh the costs, huge potential but our taste in the interior is very expensive so we cannot go overboard and would take years to build slowly

for me whats priority, bath and kitchen...that must be sorted out first thing. i am in the kitchen every day apart from maybe a weekend or just a sunday.... so i want a kitchen that looks decent

oh we use bubble bath for now and again...smells divine and there some really nice stuff... the bubble bath has little fishies, so we when run under tap, you can see them...i got strawberry..

i got some color mixes too, you see K loves to see the tap run, kitchen or bath, fascinates her. so you add these powders and they make the water turn red or yellow, even green. depends what colors you buy... later on some nice texture stuff when she is bit older, squish in the bath and for colors. waiting to use that ...

PM, i think each baby has their own crawling style - at least she is crawling Wow, I thought we were busy people! You guys always have to much on! I think keep an eye on her and keep giving her the nose spray. Evan did that and it was because, even though the infection had cleared, the fluid hadnt drained. I was told it is important to try get the fluid to drain because if it doesnt the next little bug to come along is going to making it's home in her ears again Have you taken her to the ENT again?

Kerry, haha how cute is K! I love that story! I was wondering about putting bubbles in the water. I blow bubbles fr Evan when he's in the bath and he loves it. He tries to catch them and when they float on the water he loves watching them.

Jeanine, I swear by those ugly Honey dummies you get at the counter at baby city. It was the only thing Evan would use for the 1st 4 months. They were recommended to me by the midwife because they are so close to mommy's shape. They're R 30 each and worth a try?

Evan ate a bit of his bolognaise last night but clearly not enough. He woke at 2 am for a whole bottle again. His teacher says he is such a good eater at school? I am going to try make A.K.'s chicken / apple balls. I am going to leave him to feed himself. It seems the only way. She also recommends eating with baby. Evan is exhausted and asleep by 7pm. Which is by the time DH gets home and we have dinner. How do you ladies manage with cooking etc to eat with baby? I want to try eat with him...

Sher, your K is so advanced! House buying crazy expensive, it's all the hidden costs too! We bought a house last year. You can move in and live but it still needs work... We are busy planning the next steps now for the renovations. It's hectic.

hope you all well. welcome back girly

K has been bathing in the big bath since 4 months, she was sitting without support then and crawling. trying to stand up at 5 and was standing by 6 mnhts with support. so i put away her bath ages ago, its hard to make her sit all the time, cause she wants to stand up, play with bath plug. she is really active. never sits or stands still.

she has been walking with support ever since 6 mnths, she too sometimes holds things in her hands, without holding onto anything, looks so casual seeing her. she never falls over or and she knows exactly how to sit on her bum and get up and off she goes again, she stands up against anything she can find, so funny, even our kitchen bin - ha ha. she walks along furniture and even her chair, she pushs it forward and walks. she picks up her bumbo seat and flips it.

if we have doors closes and just a wee bit open,she follows the other one and pushes the door with one hand open, if things in her way, she pushed it out of her way with one hand and continues crawling to where she wants to go.

the best part, is she loves dancing, not only on her bum anymore, she rocks back and forth, claps her hands and shakes the head even more now side to side.... just too cute...

food, i have made rice and pureed it sunday, with some chicken, butternut, baby corn and gems...

today i will make some chicken pureed but will leave some tiny peices for her to pick and eat too... loves her fruit, she has had banana, apple, and oranges. eating all her veg, on the 6th green veg now for lunch and then just add pumpkin or butternut and carrots. weekend will start with lamb, so happy as there is a variety of red meat as appossed to only chicken...

she has 4 bottles but the 4th one before bed, sometimes just does not finish it. maybe drinks like 60ml....

we busy looking at buying a house now, so bloody expensive, K needs more space, we renting in a 2 bed and she has been into all rooms, bath, kitchen etc... she will be walking on her own soon. so we saw a house on weekend, alot fo DIY...

Hi all,

My chickens are all in the nest! The school phoned and I had to go fetch Abby cause she wasn't feeling well. So I've got 2 sicky kiddo's.

Dh's cousins from Canada and Australia flew in last night, so I believe the next week is going to consist of serious kuiering.

Arghhh, the kids start with exams on Thursday!!!!! Lovely.....and DH's annual shut is starting in a week....somehow I feel like looking for a rather large rock....

Jeanine, nice pics. Iz haven't had any sweets yet....I'm too scared. Seeing she cramps so easily. A chocolate biscuit is a colse as she got, but she cramped.

Iz LOVES food. I am now starting to give her our food. But what about the salt????? I cooked with less salt yesterday. She ate about half a meatball and lots of veg. I couldn't keep the food coming quick enough!

Sunday we had lunch at the inlaws and Iz had some of grandma's greenbeans....she ate all mine off my plate and Dh's. She slept like a rock that night! She still lets me feed her thoug, phew.

Iz's generosity is giving me heartfailure! I caught her giving 'happies' to the dog and then herself. NOT ON!!!! Even yesterday at my mom's she was eating biltong, and she literally bent over the chair to offer some to my mom's little dog.

Cols, Iz is slightly better, though she still pulls on her ear and is niggly. Her antibiotics is finished, but I'm still giving her the rest.

Should I settling with the leopard crawling as "crawling"? She started venturing and exploring on her own yesterday.

If nothing else Iz is a clown....Abby is coughing and now Iz is mimiking her.

Wonder when she'll realize she's 9 months old and not 9 years old????

Sorry guys hectic day yesterday...

Sonay i got bubbles for my little one at baby city... she has sensitive skin, we had to bath her in epimax for 5 months! anyhow i have used the bubbles a few times and she didn't react to them so they must be okay. I cant remember the name but its in a white bottle with a red lid, i will have a look at home and get you the name tonight.

Janine... try gently easing him off the boob onto the dummy... or and i know this is an expensive option but try a MAM or Avent dummy. Unless of course the co-sleeping option is okay with you? I Just prefer K in her own bed at night. I love the pics! I am suprised to see you still use your baby bath? I had to give mine up about a month ago, K kept standing up in it! So it got banished to the cupboard and now she baths in the big bath already.

Sonay, last Night Kaelyn had some hake (which she just loved) some carrots (Just the frozen cubes) and some pasta shells. I still put the piecen in her mouth with my hands but i let her try put some stuff in her mouth too... just put a few pieves of each in front of her and keep the bowl by me

Charnenay - i find Kaelyn will eact anything off my plate, even with my fork... usually as long as she sees me eating off my plate, even if she has finished her food she will come and plough into a bit of mine... Last night she had nice and easy cottage pie... not the healthiest, but she had already had her dinner.

and on development... Little k last night had us in stitches... so she is standing by the couch and DH gives her a toy... so she lets go with both hands and takes the toy to examine it... now she is standing on her own with no support examining this toy... after about a minute she see'd us staring at her and looks at her hands... and slowly reaches out for the couch with a look on her face saying... "oops you werent supposed to see that" silly baba
