I have seen those trolley thingies, they look like a very good idea, and should be simple enough to make. good luck, and send us a pic once youre finished, modeled of course by IZ in her charming Ac Kermans ensamble...

No we havent, K still fits into her bumbo so we feed her in that on the lounge table (from the couch)... i know terrible parents. I don't think they make those in pink... i have seen red / blue only.

Girly - Were glad to hear the technical stuff actually, especially when its real good news! So Glad to hear she's okay, even if its a "for now" thing!

Theres definately something in the air... Kaelyn was up last night every two hours... 11:00 - 1:00 - 3:00 thing is when i went to go put her back to sleep she was asleep, but she was talking in her sleep... so i couldn't not go... GRRRR

My DH also sleeps through it, he doesn't even stir... he asks me every morning if it was a good night or a bad one, though if i express a bottle and leave it in the fridge all i need to do is nudge him and he jumps out of bed and goes and puts the dummy in... or if she won't go back to sleep he brings her to me for a feed... lol... clean forgets about the bottle in the fridge...

But hes a start he gets up in the mornings on the weekends so i can sleep in...

Kaelyn went though a stage like that when we got back from holiday, i don't know what to suggest, i started just giving her the dummy and walking out... she'd go back to sleep with the dummy and an hour later she would wake and so it went for three or four days, and then she started sleeping again... Maybe start offering her water only at night? Or let her sleep in your bed when she wakes up the first time?

Oh btw any of the Csec moms having a problem with the scar? i have been pretty soar lately, feel like an open wound i will call the gynae tomorrow for a visit.

Hi Mommies,

Glad to see all the babas are growing well, its been a while since i posted but whenever i have a change i do read the posts. Now that i can take my laptop to work, i promise to communicate more. Kerry please add Fayaz to the list born 10 Aug, no toofies yet but we might have some soon, my LG only got her first toof at 10 months hopefully Fayaz will get his sooner, she is crawling but backwards at the moment . Sorry no personal now i will catch ya'll soon. Big kisses to babaz for me.

A day later and quickly update while K naps.

We took K to the cardiologist on Friday for her follow up.
He couldnt understand why he was seeing us so soon, but then realised it'd already been a month!

Well, her pulses are nice and strong - this is their best indicator without doing an ECG to know that there are no obstructions stopping the blood from getting to the bottom limbs. So if they are strong it is great news! Her blood pressure is still a bit on the high side, so she will be on BP meds for a while still and hopefully by her next check up her body has stabilised and her BP will come down some more and we can stop the meds. We see him again in 3 months time, and probably again 3 months after that.
We have to see what happens with the scar tissue as this is what caused the problem to reoccur. Scar tissue forms within 6-12 months after the op so if all is good at the next check ups then there is a good chance she's out of the woods with this problem. So we are praying that the scar tissue does not obstruct the passage where the blood must flow.
The specialist recons there is less chance of it happening this time so lets hope that's the case! Certainly dont feel like doing this again in my lifetime.

Okay enough about that for now, I'm sure youre sick of the technical medical stuff. What counts is that for now things are looking good

What a busy weekend!
Kaylee slept in until 8:15 on Saturday morning! What bliss And trust that its my morning to sleep in when she does that. Yesterday morning was earlier, 7am. This morning was 7:15am. It was meant to be DH morning to sleep in, but I had such a bad night sleep because I couldnt fall asleep when I went to bed (11) and K was up at 12 for milk and wouldnt settle after. So I finally got to sleep but K was niggly again at 1, woke at 4 for a feed, and was niggly again at 5, and leaked through her nappy so I had to change her. It was a very similar story on Saturday night.
Sometimes I dont like that I breastfeed. It means that every time she wakes I have to tend to her just in case she wants to drink, but this can be very tiring and DH sleeps through all of it.
So this morning I told him he has to get up. He wasnt impressed because he says he woke up each time too, but he wasnt physically getting up to tend to her so not the same in my eyes.

I really wish the evenings would start going better now. Its been a few months already that we've had bad nights where we get up 3-4 times or more a night for whatever reason. But I dont know what to do about it?

Your trolley carrier sounds awesome! I'd buy one from you I am grossed out by how dirty the babyseats on baby trolleys are, and would never put K in there. I also just put her in the top basket now and she loves it
Re highchair - we bought one but its folded up. I just sit her on the ground or in her bouncer chair (only thing I still use it for) and feed her in there.

Robyn congrats on the tooth! Hope your migraine is gone and that you got to have a relaxing weekend.
Yikes on the snake! Boomslange are scary things and can cause damage to animals, but their mouths are not big enough to successfully bite an adult. Still I'd totally be freaking out! We live behind a farm so I sometimes wander about snakes. Never seen one in the wild before. Think I'd have a hissy fit!!!

Cols how are you feeling? And I hate to ask but always seem to wander when someone says that - not preggo's ? Sorry!

Jeanine thats a crazy predicament! Wish I had some advice for you! Can you parents not move into your flat maybe?

Kerry I feel your frustration. Its not easy with inlaws as you have to be diplomatic about it, esp when you are reliant on them. But you have to stand your ground. You are the mother and they have to abide by your rules. You'll be the one dealing with it if he gets sick / picks up a bug so she cannot do as she pleases.
Luckily my MIL is very interested in how we do things and likes to keep to that so we dont find her doing crazy things and if she wants to do something she always checks with us first.
I spend all day every day with her, so I definitely know better.

Hi all!

WHAT A CRAP WEEKEND! Poor DH is on standby and has been working freakin non-stop. Came home at 8 on Friday. Shame, he took me out for some Sushi then. Got called out at 3am then worked again tille 7pm. Got called out at 5am this morning yet again. Dunno when he'll be back. So I've been all alone all weekend.

Hopefully today he'll be home sooner than yesterday. But whichever way, I'm going shopping, to the beach, visiting my mom, a friend, whatever!

Yesterday my kitchen resembled something from Hilda's kitchen in 7de Laan... Cooked up a storm for Iz. Trying all sorts of new things . Poor child!

I got a bee in my bonnet now. I checked this one lady in town got this cool trolley thing she puts her baby on. It's made from cloth and covers the entire seating space of the trolley. Hmmmm, so this morning I searched to see if I can find one of them thingys. But to my suprise it comes at a cost of R300! Ouch! So, being true to my nature I searched some more and found a pattern...hehehe...now this is the part where my poor hubby just shakes his head, and asks what time I'll be back? Jip, I'm gonna attempt making one of them. Nope, got no idea how really, but I will succeed. As soon as Iz is awake, I'm off to the fabric store, hopefully she don't nap too long, Mommy's got a new project! Bwhahaha.

Have you guys got High Chairs already? We thought we'll wait before investing in those. Now I think the time has come. But I want one of those that turns into the chair and table. Any of you staying in the big cities seen pink ones?
