Aaah Kerry, shame hun. Vent - vent away! That's what we're here for :)
I think a large part of me keeping J at home with me and trying to work around him is that I struggle normally with relinquishing control and even more so with him. I always have a long list of instructions if he goes to one of his grannies or even with DH, which drives DH mad sometimes. But its hard, I am his mom and I know best right?

Please don't think you are a bad mom, you are an incredible mom and to Kaelyn you are the most incredible mom. She is a healthy happy girl and it shows how much you love and care for her. Life is not like it used to be for us women where we were expected to stay at home with our babies so you are doing a fantastic job of balancing work and home life.

I think we are probably all going to struggle from time to time with our MILs and even our Moms, they are from a different era and did alot of things differently. Sure we all turned out ok but that doesn't mean our ideas are not better for our children. Or even if they're not better, its our right as parents to instil them and our parents should respect that right but they don't always see it that way.

Hugs :(

Oh and tuesday was the mud day....

I was just wondering when it would be okay to get dirty with K?
What do you mean about get dirty?
Oh i mean fill a bucket with mud and let her play in it
No she will eat the mud
Don't worry ill put Salt in it

Umm? So salt makes mud non toxic? News to me i mean in all my reading the only thing salt is good for in babies is kidney damage? but who am i? Just the babys night nurse i guess?

Specially considering yesterday when we fetched K her fingers were covered in mud, it was black under her nails... looked like i do after some serious gardening

and the pants were off because "it was hot" on an overcast day after three days of thunderstorms?

Seriously do i look that gullable?

Morning ladies

Eileen if I was you I would maybe leave the mango for now, seeing as you know your mom is allergic to them. They say that if there are allergies to a certain food in your family then don't introduce your child to that food until after a year, sometimes only at 2 years. They're normally referring to immediate family like you or DH or siblings but still, rather be safe hey.

Kerry, John's favourite is also banana and I love how easy it is to prepare, provided the banana is not over ripe. They ripen so fast.

Nikki, was it you or said you gave Peyton apple and cinnamon and raisins? Yesterday my mom gave John apple and banana and cinnamon and he loved it apparently. Today he's going to have banana and mango mixed with cinnamon, let's see if he likes that too. He's had mango once and wasn't too enamoured with it...

I've lost my steam ('scuse the corny pun) when it comes to steaming his veggies and pureeing them so we've run out of prepared veg now. Tonight he's going to have a purity butternut with some tuna I think. Purity is really convenient but I find it a little disturbing that no matter what the flavour, they all smell the same

Happy Friday everyone, I hope you have a super day!

Girly, good luck with the specialist check-up appointment, praying for you xx

Oh and the bane of my life i am soo angry at MIL

She went out and bough K this chocolate easter bunny and is nagging me to let her give it to K... and when i said no, oh but just the ears then... just a little bit... DH had chocolate at her age...

Well anyway that was wednesday...

So yesterday i gave kaelyn papaya for the first time and as i mentioned above she never likes things on the first try... always eats less and pulls faces... so i get a half hour lecture telling me Kaelyn doesn't like the papaya and i must not give it again, i must rather gicve apple or banana as she likes those

SERIOUSLY F* Off now! GRRRRRRRR The horns are gonna grow!

as a result of every friggin day this week being told what a friggin bad mommy i must surely be, i spent the whole of last night crying in the bath! and i mean from 7 till 9... hubby eventually came in pulled the plug on the bath and dragged me out or i'd possibly still be there

Kaelyns favourite fruit is the banana which is also the easiest to prepare but she is more a veggie girl at any rate :-)

She also gags on all new tastes the first time and sometimes the second if she really doesn't like it but on the third attempt theres really no trouble, but as wth all things it doesn't hurt to give her a little more time before trying the mango again

Sounds like youre having an icky day :-( Shame man

Kerry,

I cooked apple, peach and mango for Iz, but gave it to her twice now, and each time after the 2nd spoon, she kinda chokes and starts coughing non-stop. I gave her the same fruit previously except for the mango. My mom is allergic to mango. So I'm figuring mango is a no go till she can tell me what's happening. Being prone to allergies and asthma I can't say if its the fibres of if her chest is closing. Either way I'm not chancing it a third time.

I'll try some avo today. Till I cook some other fruit, cause I now sit with a batch mango fruit lunches.

Off to torture session, with Iz! MIL got sniffles, and we decided NOT to let Iz near her. Then off to a funeral. :( Not looking forward to that one!
