Girly - went to 4 and a half ours for the weekend and back to 4 today.... i guess my lttle ones growing up huh? but i think its due to my milk theres so much of it now... at night i fill a 260ml bottle before bed (hubby feeds her a 200ml bottle while i express) if she finishes the bottle i give her 10 mls more the next night if she doesnt finish it she gets the same the next night)

Re the vent girly - relax Kaylin did it too, thats what sarted her 4 hourly feeds! I felt the same, Kaelyn was as you described i thought it was my milk, but she was crying with her mouth full of milk... I also have thyroid problems but believe me its just a thing they go through... thet just get distracted while feeding... put her under her mobile, get a little expressed milk in a bottle and let her eat while distracted.... It worked a bit for me. but if you need to talk im here for you, just bear in there with the breast feeding and offer her top ups after... or i offered mine the boob and then frozen breast milk after. but i swear its just temporary... i read a magazine article that will most definately help you... your baby & toddler - dec 2010 issue - pg 44... read it you will feel better!

Girly, sooo glad to hear that you are feeling better and that K is feeding better now - YEAH!!!! I am praying that all goes well from here on out for you and Kaylee.

I forgot I also wanted to tell you that the nurses at the maternity ward also told me that dr. vermeulen is a bit obsessed about weight. My paed went to the annual paed conference the day after Emily was born, so dr. vermeulen was seeing us and he was not happy at all that Emily was loosing weight and wanted me to top up with formula then already. It is however completely normal for ALL babies to loose weight directly after birth, so me, the nurses, the breastfeeding consultant and my paed were all very confused and I just carried on breastfeeding. I think it is an older generation thing, but always good to be 100% certain.

I must say I was in a really bad place on Saturday and I just needed to get it all out.

Kaylee hasnt thrown up again since Saturday 5pm and she's not fussing my breast as much. So already I feel a lot better.
I really just want the best for my little girl but when I feel that way I cant give her the best and that's what scares me the most.

I'm seeing doc tomorrow re thyroid, as with the b/feeding it may need adjusting too. And would explain me not losing weight too (That and my excessively bad sweet tooth!)

Will let you know how that goes.

Weighed her this AM, and gained 60grams in 3 days including Saturday's throwing up where she effectively didnt feed 3 times so 20 grams a day, approximated to 25/day ignoring saturday and I'm somewhat happy with the outcome.
The sister suggested that my doc is also a little older and they like to see chubby babas and kaylee isnt at all chubby whereas the younger durbanville paeds prob wouldnt have found anything wrong with her weight. So I do feel better about that too.

And she says its possible the rotarix caused her nausea and vomiting on Saturday. I'm just so relieved its over now!

Gotta dash, very tired girl whose been taking naps on my boob / in the car today and hasnt slept properly.
