sorry to butt in here...babyzee is your baby's belly button prodtruding or is it in the nappy area between the groin and leg??
the belly button ones should not be interfered with until after 5 years old as they generally do fix themselves but one in the groin area should be checked and sorted out soon

Hi ladies

Seems everyone has their hands full....our blog is so quiet lol

Well i took Sienna to be weighed she is now 4.125kg so gaining weight nicely considering her lack of intrest in the bottle. Apparently lactogen formula fills them up quickly and they tend t be satisfied with less then what the tin recommends. So yay no more having to try force down milk that she doesnt want an nding up covered in vomit....the sister says if she doesnt want more dont worry she will cry when she is hungry. I am old fashioned and i believed she neede to be taking in what the tin says as jessica had bo problem drinking the recommended amount but believe it or not i pulled out jessicas clinic card and sinna has gained more then jess did at her age strange considering Sienna is not thriving nearly as much as Jess did but hey....they all different and as long as she is getting enough and is content i can relax a little!

That is one problem out the way...next one is adressing some kind of routine so night one of routine

I agree with kerri sometimes they have to cry a bit but gee she screams so loud the hairs on my back stand up and i just want to pick her up as naturally i think something is wrong but as soon as i do she stops crying so i give her a cuddle and put her down and she starts agsin so last night dh said to leave her and see what happens....It felt like 2hrs of screamjng but was actually about 2 min but eventually she settles and fell asleep.

Sometimes dads can also know best i suppose...will see what tonight has in store....lol

Charenay- I am also jelous with a capital J for the routine and the dummy ha ha im completely lost with this routine and feeling rather battered at the moment.

Girly i know what you mean, Sienna supposed to drink every 4 hrs but it takes her on and off about 3 hrs to get in a feed and its already time for the next she drinks a bit doses off i put her down she screams i put the bottle in her mouth she chews the teat a bit falls asleep i put her down she screams AND SO IT GOES, ITS A NEVER ENDING STORY!!!

I also have the fisher pirice jungle swing and it cost about R1699 back when i bought it for my first born and Jess loved the swing it was my saving grace....Sienna however hates it and screams like crazy if i put her in it so its just a ornament in my house and of no comfort to this little miss who just wants to be picked up all day long :S

As for taking her out i have to take her with me at 1pm when i fetch jess from school other then that ive gone to town once and to the mall with jess and DH, i had to get out the house but i dont like taking her out all that much i was standing in the line at woolies and there was a lady having a coughing fit behind me....that freaked me out so things like that make me nervous!

My routine goes like this

7am-7am

whatever sienna wants to do
whenever sienna wants to eat
whenever sienna wants sleep
The end

I need to get it together ha ha

Going to take her to be weighed and ask the sister about her taking 3 hrs to drink and about her vomitting. Mabe it is reflux Girly? Hope not, every morning there is a pile of pillow cass and clothes and sheets to be washed as she is almost always brings something up after a feed :(

well need to get ready for the clinic....chat later

Girly and Kerry, I had the same thing with Emily while I was breastfeeding, that's when I eventually cracked and started giving her 1 formula bottle per day. I needed a break.

Girly, Bath - she has a slight touch of eczema, so I have a special cream that I have to bath her in everyday (only need to do it once a day though), but she sleeps so nicely after the bath that I decided to bath her at night as well. As for feeling a bit down in the dumps, I know the feeling - was also feeling very sorry for myself about 2 weeks ago, but I thankfully got over it. I'm sure it will get better soon and that soon you and Kaylee will be in a nice routine as well. I have been lucky that she has never really cried, she just nags and moans a bit - the only time she has really screamed was while she was in the incubator for jaundice and on Saturday I drove to my mom and her dummy fell out!! Her car seat is at the back so I couldn't reach her to put it back in until we got to a red traffic light - she was screaming and it was TORTURE for mommy.

Girly, if you really want to go to the dedication, why don't you take her somewhere else for her vaccination? As long as you have your clinic card with you can take her anywhere - the Panorama breastfeeding clinic is really good. Emily goes for hers tomorrow, I am dreading it :(

Girly... so sorry... been stuggling with the same the last day or two... even eventuall expressed a bottle for hubby to feed her so i could get just a little sleep as i was getting soo upset with her not sleeping. today shes been crying since about 9... nonstop... i cant put her down she has to be walking if i sit she screams... i think i just got it right though i put her in her crip and put the mobile on and she dozed off... then the mobile tune ended and... well lets say i had to stand there and pust the button again several times but we are good for now... touch wood... coz hubbys at work tonight... and i guess i have to cook something for myself to eat at some point

Just relax and i know it hurts something fierce but if you have to... let her cry in her crib while you go for a shower and relax a bit... when you go back she may just let you swaddle her to sleep... it helped hubby and i last night we both had had it... so we left her there crying for a few minutes while we went to the kitchen and both had a cry ourselves and when i went back a moment lated (though it felt like an hour) i picked her up and she stopped crying and i swaddled her in her babysense cuddle wrap and she went to sleep almost immediately... i don't know if it was coincidence but at that point i was too tired to even consider the point

Hope it goes a bit better for you tonight.

Charnenay all I can say is JEALOUS with a capital J!

Kaylee eats every 1,5 to 3 hours, and takes a good hour to complete a meal so its impossible to have a routine.
May I ask why it is that you bath her twice a day? We only bath Kaylee every 2nd day. Bathing is daddys job and he only gets home past 6pm and by the time she's settled at night its 9pm.

The last few days have been especially challenging.
If Kaylee isnt on the boob, she's crying, and not just a niggly cry but a proper out loud cry. I dont know what's causing this. I have tried gripe water, swaddling, warmth, anything else I can think of but the only thing that consoles her is boob and only while she's on.
Anyone else? It's taking its toll on me today, especially after last night's lack of sleep. Have asked DH to come home early from work to help me, cause I need the sleep.

Besides for going to the clinic and dr, we havent taken her anywhere. We are reluctant to allow her contact with other kids until she's had her 6 week injections. But that makes it very difficult because I need to do things like renew my drivers licence, go to the bank etc and I'm not able to. We are being more cautious than most, but only because of her rough start, and if she lands up sick with something now we'd be in serious trouble.

We went for weigh in this morning, and she has gained 220grams in a week, yay :) Now weighing in at 3.16kgs - still tiny but its something. At least something is going right. Sister doesnt need to see us until her vaccinations again. There was another lady there with her 1 week old baby - she was huge compared to K, who is now a month old!
So I can only do the vaccinations on 5th Oct which is 7 weeks cause the sister is on holiday the week before. Booked my gynae app for same day (same building) as he is also on holiday - turns out its the school holidays then. But means another week that we can't go out, and I will miss a friend's baby's dedication too.

I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself today. But Im glad to see you girls are doing okay. Our new bed arrived this morning, so I'm going to go test it out, if Kaylee lets me.
