Hello all you preggie fairies

Naikza - my gynae really urged me to get the H1N1 shot, which I did - they say it's completely safe and very important for preggies (but not in your 1st trimester) and young & old
So I would def recommend it - rather be safe than sorry!

It's quite funny - when I'm sitting down, my tummy feels fine and comfortable, but as soon as I get up, it feels like I've got a bowling ball under my top and it will just fall right out! he he , wouldn't that look funny - baby falling out when I stand up :woohoo:

Hi! :)

@ Naikza - I asked my gynae the last time I saw him and he said it is safe to take it, because it's a "dead" virus the inject. So it wont do anything to your baby. But I would recommend you to ask your gynae aswell before getting the shot.

Morning ladies

hope you all had a restful day off. Its freezing i hope i can survive in hospital wen its time to finally go there.

Charnenay glad physio was able to help n that you feeling better.

Girly its great rest helped you feel better n your nursery is getting completed.

Have any of you had the H1N1 vaccine? Just asking cos i was very unsure of whether to take it today wen i went to clinic. So they didnt give me one but one of the staff was very insistent that we should have one.

Have a great day!

Morning everyone

Liani you seem to be really enjoying your pregnancy :D
I must admit, I am getting impatient, I just want to meet this little being already!

Yesterday I was totally out of it. Think I had a 24hr bug. Only had it once before and its awful. My whole body was aching, and stomach was very sensitive. So I literally stayed on my back all day! I started feeling better by last night, and I'm okay for now. So lets hope it has passed!
Also my first entire day without using nose spray in 2 weeks! Hope this is the end of it all!

But our baby's room is now painted and I cant wait to put those curtains up! Will post pics once the furniture and decore is in, in a few weeks time.

Some of you are almost on maternity leave. Cant believe how time is flying, yet standing still!

Going for our hospital tour on Saturday. One more thing off the list.
And one more week till antenatal classes start!

Morning mommies!

I couldn't help giggling while I was reading everyones posts - I feel all of you on all the pains and aches! Sleeping is a challenge at night and the days at work even more so. :(

Allthough, its nice to know I'm not the only one experiencing all these new and unfomfortable aches. Hang in there, we're all almost there! And I would do it all over again!

Have a lovely day!

M2M please post pics! Or walk over here so I can see for myself :D

Babyzee thanks for checking in. Sounds like you're having a hectic time!
I think you need to consult with a labour lawyer. Unless the company has something in their contract, they CANNOT demote you on the basis of being pregnant. They would have to have a very good reason to do so!
They are essentially taking away your bread and butter when you need it most, and by law a company has to keep an equivalent position open for you while on maternity leave.
Wish I could give you more info, but sounds like one of those companies that take advantage / chances of their staff's naivity.

Maybe post in the general topic for someone who has contact to labour lawyers / official gazette information. Even call the CCMA for a referral. You might pay a few hundred rand for clarity, but in my mind, they are not entitled to demote you when going on maternity leave, or even before, unless you are being demoted as part of a disciplinary procedure where you have been given warnings before hand. Sounds to me they are just trying to get out of the responsibility and have no legal bounds for it.

Good luck hun.

Today we are painting, and I am cleaning, and shopping and working. My job doesnt stop on holidays unfortunately as the rest of the world is still working.
I'm hoping we can go look at those prams this afternoon and make a decision, but dont know if the shops will be open later on.
The next 3 nights I'm home alone, so will indulge myself in reading and relaxing. I have 3 pregnany / mommy books to get through in 10 weeks, and I'm such a slow reader.

Whatever you guys are up to, enjoy your day off!

Morning ladies

Charnenay I was worried, thought maybe you'd landed up in hospital!
Sorry to hear that the pain was so bad. But great that physio could sort it out for you.
I cant imagine being on bed rest for 7 weeks, especially now. But luckily you have done a lot and dont have loads of shopping left like I do.

Nikki did I read on fb about your stork party? Do tell!
My gynae has a stand in from a different practice. Its not nice though, I am a bit worried. Cos if I need anything the next 3 weeks my gynae isnt there :(
Thanks re the stickers. Once our walls are painted (today!) and furniture in place, then we have a trip planned to Mr. Price, Treehouse factory, and wherever else to find the room decor.

Robyn hope the 2 weeks fly by!
The pains - is it not the bone? With the PSD that Charnenay is referring to, climbing stairs is one of the most painful things as the cartlage is stretching. The advice I got was to keep my legs closed, ie limit all walking, stairs even more so. And try use a hotwater bottle (but not too hot) at night.
If its just abdomen, then probably more stretching, as I recon thats pretty much all we're doing right now!
I feel you on the sleep issue. My shoulders get so sore. My gynae says its fine to lie on your back, as long as you dont get dizzy from it. It's not harmful for baby though.
I tend to prop the end of the duvet between me and DH, and use that like a long pillow and lean up against it, and cover myself with a blanket. This supports my tummy and takes pressure off my sides. But generally I change positions all the time, and this morning woke up before my alarm cos I was too sore.
