Blessed - glad you caught it early. Take it easy and sure your LB will stay put for a bit longer. If they do decide to admit you, they will give you steroids to help with his lung development and they will do a c-sec, but will try and postpone it for as long as possible and he will probably be in NICU for a while, but 33 weeks is good, so he will be just fine.

good luck

Hi all

Hope evry one is doing great! I'm on leave till monday :)
So last night at 22:40 my spiritual father phoned me! He said that the Holy Spirit warned him that something is not right because I'm very swollen and short of breath the whole time! So he said that I should come and see him this morning (he is a medical doctor). So I went and he tested my BP and urine! BP is normal but heart rate is high (109). There is proteinn and white blood cells in my urine!! Two signs of pre-eclempsia (sp?). So, now I have to go and check my BP tomorrow again and if it is high the gynea wants to admit me to hospital! It is not even my gynea, she is on leave! They've put me on bedrest and also gave me antibiotics.
Please pray that everything will be normal and that my little man stay put for a few more weeks! I'm not very worried, just don't want Armand to come early!
Thanks ladies!

All Glory to God for warning us and protecting us!
Have a great weekend ladies! Look after yourselves and LO's! Xx

Robyn - that is soooo funny about DH and the breastfeeding :) The things men think of! Did he really believe that everyone was going to start flashing their boobs like some sort of porn show

Glad you got your little one's "daycare" sorted. I am also very lucky because my mom is going to look after Emily when I go back to work next year. For now, not sure if she will stay with her until she is 3 or until Grade R. I am in 2 minds about whether or not to use a daycare later on or just leave her home with my mom until "real" school. But, I agree, much easier being able to leave your kids with someone you know and trust - we are lucky because not everyone has that opportunity. DH seriously wants me to consider staying home, but I'm not to sure I want to do that, so definitely coming back to work next year and will decide then.

Morning ladies

TGIF! (and I'm completely boss-free today, so nice relaxing early day for me!)

I'm quite lucky in that I don't get up at night to go to the bathroom - when I wake up in the mornings, my body says I need to go then, but never during the night (and thankfully my hips haven't been too sore this week, so have been sleeping really well)

I've been told that I don't look pregnant from the front or back - just the side (when you see my bump) BUT apparently I do 'Waddle' like I'm carrying a bowling ball with me when I walk (!!!!!! !!!!!!!)

We had our 2nd last ante-natal class last night - learnt about breastfeeding, kangaroo care, changing nappies, post-partem depression etc
Was quite funny when the midwife said she had dolls for each of us to practice breastfeeding and DH whispered to me "You are not doing that! You can just watch" So I calmly stated that they don't expect everyone to whip out their boobs, it's just to get the positioning right - let's just say he went quite red! :P

I got some great news last night! :P
Since I'm only taking 9months mat leave and going back to work, we started looking for creches, daymothers etc around our area - but I was always abit anxious as you never really know what is happening there, who is looking after your baby etc
So DH spoke to his mom yesterday and she said she would love to look after Dakota until she's about 2 or 3, then she can go to a playschool. So I'm really excited about that - besides being a heck of a lot cheaper, at least we'll know exactly who she's with and what she's doing etc (she raised 3 kids on her own and looked after her other 2 grandkids so she knows what she's doing!)
What can be better than having Ouma look after your first born?! RELIEF!!

Hey ladies

re: aches and pains - I can seriously recommend going for physio!!! I had 3 sessions and I feel amazing!!! I have to remind myself to walk a bit slower, I feel like running at times because I am so used to walking fast. I am not even uncomfortable at all! If it were not for Emily's constant movements, I would probably forget I was pregnant!! I am sleeping like a baby at night, no more pains at all.

so, if you struggling with hip or pelvic pain - ask your gynae to refer you to a physio (it's definitely been my life saver).

anyone else's bathroom trips decreased?? I only go once or twice at night now and I was going at least 3 times (most nigths 4 times) for the past few weeks and now all of a sudden, some nights I only need to go once. Not sure if it is because I am sleeping so comfortably now?? Just seems weird as I thought it was meant to stay frequent from now on??

Girly, are you feeling better today?

And yip, time is definitely going very fast - I only have 3 weeks left at work!!!! And have my baby shower next Saturday.

Can't wait to hold little Emily in my arms.

Morning girls

JudesMom welcome back.
Shame hun. I'm finding the same thing! Non stop thinking day & night!
Hmm I havent heard anything about Milnerton. As long as you are in good care, hopefully those 2 days will go quickly.

Robyn its wierd hey ? Walking is such a mission, its like carrying a ball around :)

Naikza I kept forgetting to ask my gynae about it, but been sick for the last month so cant take it if immune system is down? Ive heard conflicting opinions so your gynae would be the best for advice. I would not get pressurised by someone who isnt your primary care giver!

Hope everyone else hanging in. Another week is gone, and one week closer! Cant believe how quickly its going?
I'm home alone again tonight, the 4th in a row. DH has had a busy week. Hopefully will get some quality time tomorrow night cos hes also busy tomorrow afternoon.

Evening Ladies,

Sorry i have been so quiet, havent been at work this week, my boss is also chairman of a NGO called Wola Nani and we have book sales to raise funds for the charity. We couldnt get any volunteers this time around so i decided to help them out. Do actually nithing but sit on my butt.

I starting to get really nervous, it seems time is passing by so quickly, and i cant sleep at night as im finding myself thinking of all sorts of things the birth, getting things in order work and the list goes on.

i went for the hospital tour at milnerton medi clinic on Sunday and the rooms seem to be much smaller than cape town medi clinic, it aint so RA RA, but then again im only going to be there 2 days max.

Anyways hoep all momies and your babies are well
