Hi ladies
Hope you all had a good weekend

My first scan is the last week of Feb - 8wks (it seems to be going so slowly!!!)

Had quite a busy weekend - Fri night we went out with the inlaws to a lovely but tiny Thai place, then walked around the Waterfront for abit (D stayed at my parents)
Picked her up on Sat morning then went to a braai with some friends and then had a braii ay my uncles place on Sun.
One of the couples on Sat brought there own daughter who is exactly 4 months older than D, but OMG is she adavnced!!!
She talks so well - she told the hosts they had a nice pool! ( ) and can name any picture you show her
Plus she is gorgeous - a real porcelain doll (most beautiful black hair down to her waist, big brown eyes, chubby cheeks and dressed to the nines - diamond earrings, bracelets, knee high boots (and she wears size 3's!! )
But she has the worst personality!! She is such a bully - she pushed D at least 6 times (but D just wanted to hug and kiss her ) and she is so cheeky and gets away with it
(her mom even said how well D behaved, that she wished her lo was cool & calm like D )
Oh well - at least D will learn to talk - this LO can't learn to have a lovely personality!!

We are also keeping things low key for Valentines - before D, DH used to go all out, but I told him it's not important to me, I would rather just chill at home!

Em finished her course of antibiotics on Saturday and she seems to be doing much better. We finally got some decent sleep again this weekend, but I am still sooooo tired We had a busy weekend and I so wish that I could have stayed home today! On Saturday morning we went for breakfast wuth my sister and her family, then came home for a nap and then went to FIL's bday party and only got home at 10 - late night for EM, but she slept through until 8. Yesterday was my cousins LG's bday, so we were there ALL day. THey had a jumping castle and slippy side for the kiddies so needless to say, Em had a BALL!!

Back to studying tonight after taking a break since Thursday. Funy how quickly one gets into the swing of things. Only been studying for a few weeks and already it felt weird not having to do anything this past few nights.

Hope you all have a good week and that Monday is over quickly, I am so ready to go home already!!

Flowergirl - shame man sorry about the ear infection - hope its better already? They seem to bounce back so quickly!I wouldn't worry about her weight, really my paed told us that really most kids don't grow everything evenly... they will frow tall and then they will pick up the Kilo's and then go through a tall spurt again, its only a problem if they fall waay waay out of a chart that you have to take any serious measures. But to put your mind at ease, give her a bowl of ice-cream Grandpa's seems to work best on little K.

BabyZee - Oh my word shame man the poor little baby... well at least you won't have to worry about the chicken pox at primary school... and he is too young to scratch welts into himself. Hope he is doing better today

Cols - Still doing Reconciliations of all my clints creditors today, and i have an audit happening for one of my other clients this week... so i might just be a little pushed to the wire huh? Anyways on the TTC group i will join after my gynea app at the end of March, have to hold out till i have had the PAP. but i must say it probably won't be very fair as the last pregnancy we got right on the first attempt... and without even checking my ovulation. so we will see... this time though we are trying for a boy so have to do the whole ovulation business... My cycles too are all over the place though, so we will have to see what happens.

Nah we won't be doing anything for Valentines day... but i did buy DH some Car mats and some boxers...

Joybaby - Good luck for tomorrow I sooo hope everything goes smoothly for you now, you have been through enough.I am with your hubby on the baby issue... if you have to start a new job and wait a year until you get maternity benefits... thats then at least another year and a bit away... that would make 3-4 years between your children. if i were you i would only wait if i knew i would be starting a new job in a month or so. but truth is you never know what Job will come from your hat and what if the one you get doesn't offer benefits anyway? God is with you and with him i am sure you will find a way to make do.

Did AF come??

The issue with us is also my company only offers 1 full paid pregnancy, the second one they only pay a third of your salary. and seeing as i am the bread winner in the house, that will be mighty tough. But DH says we can maybe speak to the bank about not paying the bond for four months... we also in the mean time are ferreting away extra money into the bond whenever we can.

Anyways i had better get to work, its looking like its going to be a busy one!

Just some news from BlessedtobeMommy - her little boy was born this evening, natural birth, mom & baby are healthy!

Re Valentines Day, we dont celebrate it because our anniversary is the following week the 22nd Feb. We'll be married 9 years this coming anniversary!
So although we'll be spending V day apart (I'll be in hospital with K) we'll just make up for it another time. I did buy a groupon breakfast voucher for a restaurant in town for something different, so will make use of that once K is out of hospital.

Sheryl you're most welcome to take some of my weight!!! Sadly I am on the other end of the scale, I look at food and I pick weight up. And I have a serious sweet tooth and my 'goto' for when I'm stressed is snacking. I have 40KG's to loose

Cols glad you are seeing the gynae again soon. And seems DH is very supportive of everything you have to go through which I'm sure is a huge help.
We're in the same place financially. If I fall pg before being permanent at a position, then baby would be born before 1 year at the company and I would not get any maternity benefits. But DH is quite sure he doesnt want to wait, although I'm rather uncertain about how it would pan out. I recon if it doesnt happen this month I'll try skip the next 2 months before trying again.

Babyzee how is the chicken pox? Shame hunny what a way to start your weekend!!!

Flowergirl how is Emily doing after her antibiotics? Cant believe she's never had before? K's been on so many!
Re her weight - in my opinion she looks healthy for her age. And I think they forget how active these little ones are that they dont pick up weight as quickly.
We can try give healthy fats like peanut butter, and avocado and banana when in season, and woolies has double cream yoghurt which K cant have cos of her milk protein allergy . And cooking with olive oil etc. But if they are eating well and drinking well then what more can one do? It may just be that she has a fast metabolism?

Robyn your bodys metabolism will speed up with #2 on the way so if you just stick to a healthy diet and some light exercise you shouldn't worry about weight and who knows you may be lucky and get to your idea weight soon after baby is born.
When is your first scan??

We are getting ready for K's big day which is now scheduled for this coming Wednesday morning. We have to go in on Tuesday afternoon for all the pre op stuff. They take bloods to check infection levels etc, do x rays to make sure her lungs are clear, do an EEG, see anaethetist and the surgeon & cardiologist etc.
So tomorrow is basically our last day at home, and will have to find some time to pack as well. The char wasnt here last week so I have a basket full of un-ironed clothes to get through, cos she's meant to be back on Wednesday but we'll have to reschedule it for Friday rather.
All in all this is going to be a very tough week, very tiring and stressful.
While she is in ICU I'll be at home at night cos I cant sleep over, so will post updates. But once we move to the paed ward I wont have internet access for a few days

Expecting AF this weekend (Saturday / Sunday) as well so not looking forward to that either lol!!!

Have had a really nice time with Kaylee this weekend though, and in general she's been such a pleasure this past week.
Tonight she didnt want to go to sleep so I did the rocking thing which doesnt really work. I have to keep my head away from her so she doesnt look at me, but she pulls my face towards hers and kisses me smack on the lips! I cant help but giggle when she does it and then she knows she's won!
Her favourite games at the moment are jumping on the couch and then falling flat on her face. She finds this hillarious but its so stressful for us cos she doesnt realise how close to the edge she gets. But there's no stopping her.
And her favourite tv show at the moment is Mickey Mouse Club House, but only the end where they sing "Hot dog" and she sings what sounds like "Die die" lol!

Also got lots of teeth coming through. She has 11 totally out and 2 more popping through at the moment. Unfortunately she likes to bite me with them.
She's also stopped hugging when we tell her to give lovies. It's all about kissing.
The other night she and a 2 yr old from church kept hugging and kissing each other. It was too adorable but DH wasnt too impressed by this.

Anyway I better get to bed. This morning she slept till 8am but that only happens every other week so I cant take it for granted!!!

Cols - we don't really do much on valentine's day - we used to before we were married, but now it just seems so silly?? Our anniversary is next month though, so we'll do something nice then.

Heading home now, looking forward to hopefully getting some rain this weekend.

Cols - LOL I dont have any meat on me anyway and I am losing

its madness.... I would be happy if I had weight i wanted to lose, i dont have anything on me .... I never had any weight on me ever in my life, if anything I have battled to put on weight.... it took me 8 years to put on 3 kg and ate like a pig. always loved my food and then I had to eat tons of bread, buy those body building shakes and then did lots of weight training and then eventually put on 3kg over 8 years

I am still that weight ....

Valentines day not sure, hectic with a baby

Joybaby, poor K And poor mommy, your nerves must be finished... How is the job hunt going? We'll have to make a plan to set them up! How cute would that be!!

Kerry, that is hectic. I feel bad for your client... Have you gotten through everything? So you joining our TTC group? You know, we cant put life on hold for perfect circumstances. If we did we'd never have kids... I have changed roles so if I have a baby before next march I will get no salary... But I will just have to make do because we want another baby...

BabyZ, poor Baba!!! How is he doing?? He really has had a rough start to the year!

Robyn, how cute is your DH! You really shouldnt worry too much about your weight now. You are a pregnant mommy so it's ok How nice though that you have a friend who is so close to you in pregnancy time. I had that with my 1 friend. It was lovely.

BabyK, it's a pleasure. Evan loves those cookies and his provitas :)John has the most gorgous curls! I have to tell you I had to pop back into school yesterday to take Evan nappies and he was on the naughty corner. So the teacher told me he had grabbed the 1 little girls face. See, they all do it :)He also play bites (a game daddy started). He gets into trouble at school for it though It isnt a hard bite, he goes aaaggg and pretends he's gnawing you. Not cool at school How's work? Let me know once you've settled in and we'll meet up.

Flowergirl, Sorry about Em's ear infection. It is the pits My friends daughter was the same. She is still a tringbean and she's 10!Dont be hard on yourself! There is so much we do everyday that we dont realise. Just by being a mom On getting sexy back - I downloaded HOT $&x by Tracey Cox. I enjoy her books and she is fun but matter of fact. Trying to get my grove back on so hopefully this will "inspire" me

Sheryl, you seem to be so busy! Probably why the weight has melted off Also helps that you didnt have hectic pregnancy weight gain!

For me, I lost all my pregnancy weight within a month after Evan. I lost an additional 6 kg after that. Wen I stopped the Yaz though I picked up the 6kg and havent been able to shake it. I must admit I'm not excercising - not that I ever do Back to the Gynae on 2 march for a follow up. DH wants to discuss fertility treatment (Clomid) or whatever the gynae recommends. We are trying hard, he is on Staminogro and I am taking the pregnacare conception. My cycles are very off.

Evan is doing well. He is communicating more and his mollars are all finally cut through! So 12 teeth now He eats so well now but only if he is feeding himself. He loves home made tomatoe sauce with "hidden" veggies. I stew tinned tomatoes with whatever veggies are in my fridge. I put that over chopped up sausage and pasta rice last night and he loved it

It's DH's birthday on the 22nd. I had a towbar fitted to his car today (He's in PE this weekend for his studies). He's been wanting to get a towbar installed for ages I hope he's happy with it... Also bought him a ticket for the 80s rewind concert in DBN. We're going for the weekend.
