Lucy - that's exactly what Lynn told me - bulk of food must be given during the day so that they don't need it at night. They only need a certain amount within 24 hours so if you give that to them during the day, they shouldn't wake at night.

Kinda like my routine except we're working on not letting him wake between 7:30pm and 7am

Oh well... Had 2 lovely nights of London sleeping 7 hours. Then last night he slept 4 hours and only from 3am! Guess its still early days. He is 8 weeks as of Monday but only 2 full months tomorrow!

I read recently that you should only try a sleep routine with a baby from 2 months old. What you need to do is make sure he/she gets the bulk of their food during the day! Then after the bath/supper feed... only feed on demand!

So I have this planned (hope London plays with):

7am Feed
11am Feed
3pm Feed
6:30pm Bath
7pm Feed (asleep by 9pm
3am Feed (asleep by 4am)

The 3am wake up depends on when he actually goes to sleep after 7pm feed. Sometimes he will sleep till 4am or even 5am. Then the morning routine varies...

How is everyone else's routines? Working?
He tends to nap for a shortwhile after eating during the day but not for too long. Then has awake time from 3pm to 5pm nap after that.

Took Caitlin for her injection last week friday, gave her 0.3ml panado but She spat most of it out. Injection was fine, and she just slept afterwards. Caitlin has picked up 1.2kg's and weighs 3.8kg's now and she has grown 8cm in 2 months!!! her head has also grown by 3cm so all in all we are looking good.

Colic - Caitlin had one evening where she screamed and I gave her 10 drops of MEGAN by NATURA in 5ml water and it worked within 15minutes.

Alex - what is block feeding? I also have an 'overactive' let down - but I just stop feeding and go and express a bit then try again.

Nelria - cute pics! Lea seems to love her klein boet!

Activities with baby - I also do the play gym thing, talk to her when I have something to say. In the mornings I do some tumtime, and afternoons we have some tumtime again and I leave her in her vest top and diaper and then she can kick a bit in the sunshine...it's nice and warm inside in the Banks.

Looking forward to the weekend, feel like I could do with a couple of hours being baby free today. I need to go and buy more summer tops cos my bust is too big

Is anyone expressing milk and freezing it? The milk bags are SO expensive. I was going to use ziplock bags, but apparently it's not good? I saw on one of the forums that it's ok to use but not to put into heat when defrosting, rather to thaw in the fridge overnight? Does anyone know anything about it?

Eve - I hear you about worrying about the funny teeth. How dependent is Connor on a dummy? Alex needs it to fall asleep and mommy needs it to pluck in his mouth when he's being too moany. He spits out the dummy when he is fast asleep. So basically he is without a dummy more than with a dummy. And using that logic, I'm thinking that it will be ok. I'd much rather him suck a dummy than his tumb, because a dummy you can take away at a later stage, but a thumb can always go back in the mouth.

Sleeping through - not a sausage. Alex still wakes up twice. He sleeps for 6 hours from bath time and then wakes up anywhere between 12 and 2 and then anything from 3 - 8. Really just depends. He usually sticks to 4 hours in between.

We're also going through a growth spurt at the moment, the nipples are a bit tender, but he is such a trooper. I couldn't understand why he was so niggly all day...lekker stupid sometimes...!

We went to the pead today. He is happy with all development. On of his testicles hasn't dropped into position yet, but he reckons that will definitely happen soon, no cause for concern. Alex now weighs 5.55kg, is 59cm long with a head circumvent of 39.5cm. A big boy...

Maureen - I went for a wax yesterday, thanks for the heads up and ja, it was all fine. SO much less painful than when I was preggers! I was expecting hell and was pleasantly surprised.

Nelria - thanks for the advise on awake times. Alex comes with me in the pram and I don't stimulate him all the time and that was why I wondered whether I was wrong. But we're in the same 'space' if not the same room and I do leave him to play by himself for short spaces of time. I mean I need to hang the washing etc! Haha. When are you taking Xen for his injections, must be next week. Tell me how it goes! Your photos are absolutely stunning! You make beautiful babies, you can do it again!

25 degrees in Cape Town tomorrow. Thinking of going to the beach!

Sleeping through - the therapist chick I went to today said that babies CAN sleep through when they start weighing 5kgs. She's given us a routine to follow and we started this afternoon already.

Honey dummy - does anyone know if the honey dummy forms funny teeth? She suggested nuk or honey dummy because they are bigger and babies can keep them in their mouths easier. Connor seems to like the honey and it doesnt fall out but I'm worried about bugs bunny teeth or wonky teeth?
