Hey everyone

Yipe I have been so busy lately that I dont find enough time for Moomie. Either London keeps me busy or Im out and about.

London eats about 3 hourly during the day too Eve. But has longer stretches at night. Last night he had the longest stretch so far!! I was amazed. Slept 7 hrs from 9pm to 4am. Then he ate and slept from 5am to 8:30am. He was then awake for most of the day and only had a few catnaps in the car or pram as we were out.

If we go out, he is usually sleeping or stimulated looking at all the people and things. If we are home I spend time talking to him, singing to him. He has tummy time with me on the floor. Then I lie him also on his play gym on the floor. But he is too young to play by himself. I will usually play with him, like ring bells or rattle near him, show him Frankie Focus (White page with black and white one dimensional face on it). Then I also put him in his swing and he stares at the mobile. He is very alert and I find I need to keep him occupied. Gosh will be happy when he can entertain himself haha.

He has found his tongue and seems to want to lick everything now too haha

mateo spits up alot, i've realised it happens mainly when he drinks from the left side. Turns out i have an overactive let down on that side, milk literally squirts out and he chokes on it and swallows loads of air trying to keep up. So i'm gonna try block feeding and hope that the situation improves. Poor kiddo!

maureen- i prefer herbal remedies so will be getting that one, i like to have the medicine just in case and if i dont have to use it, even better. Does Jamie still have problems with gas? I thought those tummy problems clear up at 12 wks, unless it was just wishful thinking on my part.

eve- i think the repeating is just part of the package, i sometimes feel like a crazy person but its worth it when he stares and me and smiles :) shame man, i hope Connor is just going thru a phase and will be back to his usual schedule. I never knew u get a baby routine specialist! Pls let us know what she had to say, i'm sure it will be very interesting.

Hi there ladies,

Eve - it is so important to go for a check up. They need to check that everything is really okay. Please, please do go. As for cramps and reflux. I use Iberogast, it is herbal and I put it in all Jamie's bottles, so much better now. I also use gavison, the normal one, I give him 2.5ml before every feed. Hope it helps you as well.

As for what to do with baby. Jamie is not a tummy time baby at all. He loves sitting and watching around, so I prop him up or sit him in his pram, and strap him so he doesn't fall over. I am a very busy person and can't sit still, so Jamie goes along to everything. He went to work today with me. I have a lot of toys, and am now only really starting to use them now.

Otherwise, we sit and watch what is going on outside, I put the radio on and we just sit and relax. And of course we play, when I mean play, I actually tease him, well I pull his toes, and he squels and blow his tummy.

Otherwise, I am doing good. SO glad to see that Moomie is busy getting busier now.

Hey ladies

Hope you're well!

I've been wanting to come onto Moomie but just can't get a second to actually do it, so sorry - I feel bad.

Awake times - Connor stays awake for various long periods throughout the day. I do tummy time for a while, literally like 5 minutes because he's not very fond of it. I then show him printed pictures of faces in black and white. I also bought 2 toys that makes noises etc and we talk to the toys :) Sometimes we just stare outside (he loves that) and we talk about what we see. I find myself repeating myself over and over but who cares hey - he doesn't understand what I'm saying anyway, as long as I'm talking.

Cramps and reflux - things are getting quite bad with his cramps and reflux. Have bought so many different things to try help him - natural and not. So far, nothing works brilliantly.

Feeds - 5 hourly feeds no longer exist. He now starts moaning after 3 hours and doesn't even want water.

Hoping that tomorrow when we go to the baby routine specialist, she will have the perfect answer for us. I'll let you know how it goes. She has a clinic as well so designed a routine specifically for baby.

Mommy check up - oh yes, wanted to ask - is it vitally important to go for our gynae check up? You all know how much I love my gynae and I don't know who else to go to. Kinda sick of having people fiddle with my bits so will skip it if I can??

mrs sh- how long is Alex up during the day? Mateo takes cat naps of 40 mins to an hour and stays awake for 2 hours at a time. When he's awake, he likes to look around the room and i'll talk to him about whatever he's staring at. When i run out of things to say, i'll read to him from a magazine or the internet. I've also found that he enjoys a massage more during the day than after his bath at night. I only take him out in the pram when he's when awake for a while then i know it will definitely knock him out. There are times when he'll be up for 4 hours and get really cranky since he's really overtired, then i have to work to get him to sleep but thank God those moments are not that frequent. I had no idea they supposed to have day sleeping patterns since this child is awake so much!

i dont care what those lactation consultants say, on sunday Mateo is 1 month and we gonna give him a bottle, so help me God! Lucky u that Alex is so easy with the bottle, i'm hoping i'll have the same luck.

Alex - I've been told that you should introduce the bottle before 6 weeks - only for the odd feed, just so that your baby is use to the bottle otherwise it's a b*tch to introduce later. I think it will differ from baby to baby. I've also been told that they like only one brand sometimes, but then my Alex is a bottle slut as he has like 2 brands! haha

Ladies - what do you do with your baby when he's awake? I put him under the mobile, tummy time, take him for walks etc until he's had enough and then he is still awake for a bit longer. I feel so stupid sometimes - like I try to talk to him, but I run out of things to say if you know what I mean? I've bought a few books but he's not interested in them yet. What do you ladies get up to when they're awake?

And do you put them in the pram or seat with you? And do you have sleeping patterns in the day? I have no idea when Alex's long and 2 short sleeps are? He is 6 weeks.

We're going to the pead tomorrow and I'm going to the gynea for the check up.

Ok, dinner is ready. Chat later. Promise ot be more oneline!!

hi!

We had the newborn photo shoot yesterday. It was funny when they did the naked pics of Mateo with the angel wings, he ended up peeing all over the set, twice!

nelria- glad u have no complaints, makes me look forward to when he's 6 wks. Ja, mateo's growing fast, they say he wont get overweight on breast milk, i hope they right coz he eats alot. i'm so jealous u had a babyfree night. I was supposed to do that but i approached a lactation consultant coz i wanted to how do i introduce a bottle to Mateo and they told me i shouldnt give one now but rather cup feed him. R they mad? Who the hell has the patience to cup feed a hungry, squirming baby? So mark and i ended up not having our date :(
