Hi everyone

Congrats to all the new mommies!

Ladies, I am really struggling with Zarika's cord. She is 2 weeks old on wednesday and the cord at the back is not near dry. Also, this morning it looked like the cord is bleeding. I got advice that I should put frier's blasem (sp??) on but I am scared to do it. Have any of you ladies have any advice? Eve - I saw on FB that you used some kind of powder for the cord, what is the name?

Took LG to clinic on friday to weigh, she has picked up weight since discharge from hospital but not enough. She sleeps for 5 - 6 hours at a time and thus is not drinking enough but she isn't complaining. So I have tried to feed her more and need to take her back to clinic tomorrow to see if she has gained enough by now.

Sandra - Saw photo's of Alex on FB, did you buy that trolley and basket from the hospital?

Missy- congrats!

Lucy and Eve- sounds like u nice and cozy in bed! I'm also lying in bed waiting for dr phil to come on are either of u using the sleeping wedge for babies? I'm starting to wonder if i even need it. I'm certain half the things i've bought, i wont even end up using.

Simone- i'm still here and the baby is still happy inside. I'm willing him to be born in the next few days since mark needs to go up the coast on friday and i really dont want to go into labour while he's away. Ja, these cramps really suck! And yesterday i had a killer headache, i'm so ready to have this baby. So from friday u'll be on leave? Ur body really needs to rest! Really sweet of family to freeze meals, that will save u a bunch of time. Take care!

I'm in the exact same position as Lucy - in bed typing on laptop with Connor in his carrycot in our room, heaters also on

I need to get up later and actually shower and get dressed. Starting to get into a routine of showering and just getting into clean pjs again - not good!

I've already done some washing of nappies today - maid is here so no cleaning for me, thank goodness.

Hi Lucy - Yes, almost time for me. You seem to be nice and warm and contended. You seem to be really doing well Lucy.

Alex - Where are you? Has babyy arrived yet?

Eve - Im also in same frame of mind now! Also feel better about London being on formula as I can see how well he is thriving and growing. He also seems so content. So not feeling as awful as I did before.

Anyway its freezing today and raining cats and dogs in CPT. Sitting in bed typing with baby in cradle next to me sleeping. We have heaters on and everything is nice and toasty!

I am still here, no baby yet.

Alex - Hi. I really need to work so that I can get my paycheck this Friday. So, I need to hold out till then. I live just half a block from my work place, so no problem there.

Well, at the Dr. appointment they said that baby has not come down all the way ye, but is on its way. late this week, or early next week. I will be going to Dr. again on Thursday.

These cramps can get so very sore, but apparantly all is well and they are normal.

Luckily, my sister and mom have started freezing meals.

Nelrea - Hi, thanks for the information, it does help. My LG (who is 4) also suffered from colic, it was an absolute nightmare and I did't know what to do. So yes, your advise will help some moms with colic babies.

Skyler - HI there. You are right, I will start today to finish up the rest of the things to do at home. It will get easier soon, I promise. Please carry on trying with the breast feeding. But, like I said before, if you really can't manage - then don't stress about it and carry on with formula. The most important thing is that baby is happy and full. I really think that you are doing great.
