zulu the problem with wanting to train a baby to sit in the bumbo is that they are entirely supported and therefore never need to learn to hold up their backs themselves, they never have a little fall to learn to balance or put their arm out to stop the fall.

bumbo's are great from about 10 weeks up to 5 months. then baby needs to come out the bumbo and start practising sitting on their own.

however, bumbo is also great for feeding solids. you can put the bumbo on the kitchen counter and feed baby (if you dont have a feeding chair or if baby is too small for the feeding chair).

and since it's rubbery/plastic, if food happens to mess everywhere, it's easy to clean

just remember not to leave baby unattended on the kitchen counter! and usually from about 8 months, baby will twist and turn and escape from the bumbo

des you can use it now!!!
actually you can use it from like 6-8 weeks. considering it is so padded and surrounds the baby entirely, it's great :)
and generally from 3 months it is fantastic!
you can just pop him in there and bring him into the bathroom while you shower, get ready.

you can also put the bumbo near the playgym or a mobile so he sees it straight on instead of looking up at it.

this will also teach him to start to reach out and grab things

@Meags - do you know at what age I can use my baby bumbo seat for Connor?

My beautiful baby boy, Connor Troy, was born on 20 March 2010 and my 2nd gorgeous boy, Cullen Reece, was born on 2 September 2011 - I am very blessed indeed

Zulu, from 5 months you can start training to sit. you can either get a box and pad it with cushions and put the baby in the box (then they literally cant fall backwards, sideways or anywhere!!) or you can put them on the floor and put cushions all around. the cushions need to be high enough so baby is propped and cant fall.

After 2 weeks, remove the higher cushions, still leaving cushions all around for those falling over moments.

then after 2 weeks you sit with baby and sit them with just a cushion behind. open their legs into a wide V as this helps stabilise them.

generally in 2 more weeks they'll sit unsupported. remember, they will still fall. thuis is necessary so that they learn to balance and learn to reach their arm out to stop the fall. so dont always grab them and stop the fall.

scribbling. I have done extensive research. each month you lose quite a few eggs. say maybe 20. this happens each and every month. only 1 of those 20 will mature. anyway. all 20 go down the toilet unless you are TTC.

So since we are not TTC, there is no need to not donate the eggs?? not doing this procedure now just means I am throwing my eggs away, not saving them for TTC as they are disregarded each month anyway.
obviously during TTC you cant donate because then every month you are giving away your eggs that you are trying to fertilise yourself.
with the procedure you get injections in order to boost all 20 eggs so that as many as possible become strong enough to donate.

then you go to the doc/hospital/gynae and they put you to sleep, then insert a tiny rod into the cervix and suction out the eggs and that's it!
they say afterwards you experience period pain for about 4 days.
I'm quite nervous and worried about the injection pain and post egg removal pain but in the greater scheme of things, I think I should be doing this anyway

Thanx for the warm welcome, i missed you so much.

I was just wondering, when is the right time to train LO to sit? Her neck is very strong, but um so not sure if now it's the right time.

If so,How do i do it?

Secondly she has dry skin mainly on the cheeks and legs, the Paed prescribed the Advantan cream, Cetaphil bodywash and Nutraderm moisturiser.

the cream is finished now, and the Nutraderm makes her very dry. Her Paed does not take MA and she charges R500 for consultation.

Thanx
