Newborn and baby advice

Hi Meags I see you taught everyone a swaddling technique on Friday? My lil one is only 3 weeks old but hates being swaddled. So I stopped and he seems happier. But if it can help with the crankiness or crying I would love to try again. Could you post pics for the CPT people?

And advice to help a cranky baby?

You're welcome to try mine out too, Pinky. Some days Emily loves hers. Some days she hates it. I guess it just depends.
Desiree how about a get-together early next week before Connor goes to daycare? Emily's ok in shopping centres for a short time. Then she gets very niggly! I'm interested to hear what the paed says about the vomiting - Emily's still puking all over the show. She stinks and I can't get the smell out...

@Pinky - as I've said, you are more than welcome to come and give our baby swing a go with Karla. At least here we can give it some time and take her out when she cries and put her back when she's calm. In the shops you can't really play around with it for an hour or two unless you are really feeling gutsy

(and I think your mom lives very close to us so you can just pop around here when you visit her?)

oh we must definitely get together again! I start work again on the 5th July though, and Connor starts creche for a little bit each day as of 1 July.

I bought the weighted blanket at Dischem northgate, its in the baby section and its called the Grace weighted blanket and it was cheap, like 60bucks or something, I still think it was one of my best buys, it still works like a charm!

@Pinky - Connor doesn't really like being in his swing that much, we also thought it would buy me more time, but it didn't and it cost R2000, hectic! Hopefully Karla will benefit more from it, I hsve friends whose babies adore their swings!

Connor is going to the Paed this afternoon, itsna routine checkup, but I'm glad because he has been so irritable the last 2 days, when he's awake he's not ver settled and happy - he's still vomiting and has looked like he has been crampy so I want to speak to the Paed about a possible formula change, not sure though!

How do your babies handle shopping centres? If Connor wakes up and were in a shopping centre it see.s to upset him and he cries, and we have to leqve - it hapenned again yesterday in Clearwater Mall, we had to leave and have lunch at home rather, so much for Fathers day, lol!

Me and hubby went to look for a baby swing on Saturday... I really think it will help in giving me a bit more time to actually eat properly... That is why I have been struggling with my milk production. But they are soooo expensive, Adri I know you said it works wonders for Kara, but does anyone else know if it works well?

I started drinking eglynol for my milk production... and it seems to be working, so hold thumbs, cause I really want to keep on breastfeeding exclusively...

@Desiree, I also want to know where you got that heavy blanket from... It will help if Karla falls asleep in her bouncer chair then she won't wake up that fast!
