Newborn and baby advice

Des , I tried everything , feeding , burping , nappy change , dressed her warmer , gave her some TLC , couldn't bath her as we had the water problem and the geyser had to be switched of during the day and nothing worked.Eventually hubby tried to see she she doesn't want to lay next to him. I think it is most probably a growth spurt , I gave her her normal feed and after an hour she is crying again. She even niggly today. I wish I just new why she is like that but gosh figuring it out is really hard.

Nicky - oh dear, so we are both zombies today, he he - Connor was also niggly and crying last night, what did you do to calm Liebe? I tried everything I could think of! Eventually I bathed him, he was still crying, and only after the bath did he settle...but still didn't sleep well! The previous night though, he slept from 8 until 1:15 in the morning ... Oi, I wish I could have more of those nights : ). He is still wanting to feed every 3hours today, I wonder if it can be a growth spurt or something? Anyway, we just deal with what we get hey?

If I wasn't going to the doctor today, I would have still been in my pj's as well! My gynae is running late, thank goodness I called - so, I'm waiting until 13:00, then will phone again and only leave then - I still have to fit in a feed for Connor before I leave....eeeeeeek, I hope this works out for me : )

Des my night sounds very similar to your one.I'm so tired today Liebe didn't sleep from 1am until 5am.She started at 5pm yesterday crying about everything and it just didn't end.She was niggly all evening.

But we were very very busy yesterday , driving up and down.

Des , good luck with your check up.If I was close I would have looked after Connor for you.I hope he sleeps , I'm sure the doctor won't mind if he is there.

I'm just gonna stay in my PJ's all day on the couch watch TV , too tired to do anything else.

Helloooooo ladies!! I had such a busy day with Connor yesterday, no time to post!

I took him for his 6week checkup, all is well - the Paed is happy with everything!!

Then - Connor had a very difficult night, he woke up basically every 2.5 - 3hrs - I feel like a zombie - and he had this period of 2hrs in the afternoon where he was a bit niggly and miserable, nothing I tried helped - ha ha, it was exhausting - shame, my poor baby!! And, I'm stressing about today, I have my 6week checkup at the gynae and I have no-one to watch Connor, so I have to take him with and I have no idea how that's going to work .... Oi!!

Nicky - your kermis sounded divine, so glad you had a good time and WELL DONE to Liebe for sleeping through!!

I'm still lying in bed, Connor is at least napping now so I have time to post!!

Welcome NickMG , congrats on your little baby!!

I had a hectic day in this weather. Firstly it was our 6 week check up and for some reason Heidelberg doesn't have water so we had to improvise and do with the water left in the fridge and kettle.Then got Liebe dressed and had enough time for a coffee until Liebe threw up all over herself and I had to dress her again.

Well the doctor says she is doing really well (I go to our GP and he does everything).He check her neck and then had this stick and scratch on her body so see her responses , stretch her legs and arms and just checked inside her nappy and said she is doing really well.YEAH!!!
He suggested that if I wanted to buy a book that will really help me , I should get sister Lilian as it apparently has everything in it.

For the constipation he said it was due to the change of feed from breastmilk to formula.He also suggested that I use S@^ Gold as it is really close to breastmilk or Nan.

All is well with me as well , got pills to stop my period and he told me I have to come for a papsmear so I will make an appointment as soon as possible.He said I must get off the injection as it will effect my future TCC as it will take longer so he put me on the new version of Jasmin called Jazz so I'll see how it goes.

Pinky , my baby also has the white stuff , you can out glicerine on the dummy , I cant do it with m y LG as she throws up everytime I do it. So I asked the doctor about it and he said I shouldn't worry , my MIL said that my baby will get "sproei" don't know the english and the doctor said it will not so I'm just gonna.My mom is a dental nurse and she said to my I must rub my finger on my LG gums everyday because the suger from the milk can effect the teeth even though it is not out yet.

Bundle of Joy , I didn't really have questions for the doctor and he ended up asking me most of the questions.

Well it's quiet on here today , babies must be keeping you busy.

I think Luke's growth spurt has ended.

He is feeding regularly again every 3-4 hours, last night he fed at 9pm and then woke up at 3am for his next feed so 6 hours straight, then woke up again at 7am for the next feed. So seems like all is back to normal again

Gosh next week is the 6 week checkups - my gynea, the pead, the hearing and eyesight test and immunisations, seriously don't know how to fit all of this in and hubby is going up to Jhb on business for 2 days aswell

Its going to be a crazy week - better take my happy pills

How have you ladies coped with the 6 week checkups, just hope Luke isn't going to need a feed when I'm at the checkups! Any questions I should be asking?

I still need to go to dept of Labour to hand in my UIF forms for my maternity leave (haven't done it yet), I am dreading that too as I have to take Luke with me...ahhhhh!!
