@beansmom - I had the same problem last week where Luke stretched his feeds and my breasts became so full, it sorted itself out after I think 2 days.

Hello Everyone ,

Jac , I hope you get some bit of rest in.I know exactly what you mean when you say you can do with less sleep but don't take any of it.

Liebe didn't want to fall asleep last night. She woke up at 9pm and then I tried to get her to sleep a=until 22:30 until I gave up.Then hubby tried and 10min later she was sleeping right in the middle of our bed. So we had to sit and wait for her to be fast asleep before we could touch the bed , one little noise or hard movement and she is awake. So 20min later hubby went and picked her up and put her in her cot and she was sleeping.Yeah!!!

We went to a fun fare today , my MIL was there so she looked after liebe the whole time which was nice as I could just relax and chat with other people. She actually slept from 9 until 12:30 so her feeds is now 3 and a half hours. Really want to push it to 4h in the day , will see how it goes.

Well we are going to a braai tonight ,I just hope she is calm and sleeps and doesn't get too excited and then not sleep tonight.

Why don't we have the get together on the 22nd of May , is anyone available that Saturday?

What time does your night routine start? I only start at 20:00 , give her a bath and then feed her and keep her in the room. I hope this will work when I'm back at work , wonder if she will take on a different routine once she goes to creche? I work in JHB so getting home before 6pm is gonna be hard.

Chat later , hope all of you are having a great weekend.

Glad Karla was a bit easier today Pinky - I guess they have their off days like we do. Keep at the breastfeedign like you have been, it really does get easier :-).

Des - your shoot sounds awesome. I'm glad you felt pampered and that connor was relaxed too - I bet the pic's will be stunning!

Poor Liebe, Nicky. I hate it when they sometimes react to the vaccine. I hope she is much better today. I also hope you got better sleep last night.

Bundle - happy monthday to Luke! Time flies by so quickly doesn't it! I must say with my first his feed times also decreased as he got older - I think they just become more efficient at sucking the milk out. Lia's can't decrease too much because they are already so short!!

Beansmom - the expressing will increase your milk supply so if you are so sore you have to express, only do a little bit, enough to just relieve the pain. The more you express, the more your body will make. Keep at it with the towels or even hot showers (sometimes your milk will squirt out in a hot shower) and in a day or so your body should adjust. What I did when my breasts were engorged or over full is when my LO is feeding on the one side - take feeding bra off the other side and the other breast will naturally leak milk when your milk lets down ( just catch in container, or towel or whatever). I know it sounds a tad strange but when so full every bit that comes out relieves you a bit. Hang in there - your body will adjust!!

Once again Lia was niggly last night and only went down at 11h30. Arrrrgh. She then only slept for 2 hours after that and then 2.5 after her next feed.. at which stage my son was crying because he made a no2 (he still wears nappies) - so I changed him, put him back in bed and then couldn't sleep. Grr.. needless to say with less than 5 hours sleep in total I'm a grumpy cow today lol. It's amazing how just an extra 1-2 hour sleep can make a difference.. I have been doing ok on 6ish hours most days but take some off there and I'm full of it.

Lia was awake from 9h15 until almost 1!!! Jeepers... half the time she was happy, half the time cranky. Long time anyway lol.

I need to go lie down (seeing everybody is napping - won't be for long so best I capitalize). I can never sleep in the day but I recon lying there will at least conserve energy anyway.

Hope you are all having a fab weekend!

I don't think it leads to ear infections or anything like that, so don't worry about it. It's just a funny feeling when you have water trapped in your ear - as I'm sure you know. Perhaps the problem is more with children who already have ear troubles.

Does anyone know why they say water must not go into the baby's ears when you bath them? And if not when can water go into baby's ears?

I don't understand this , they spent nine months in the womb with their ears in the water?!
