Good morning mommies

Hope all is well...i'm having a bad case of heartburn since yesterday and it feels as though there is no more space for baby to grow, my skin feels like it's stretched to the max and LO is doing lots of her own stretching which makes it worse!! lol

Newbie - I too am having trouble sleeping alot lately and i'm up around 3h30am and only fall asleep at 4h30, sometimes 5am!! I seldom need to get up to go to the loo, so it's really frustrating when i just lie there in the dark listening to hubby snoring away! As for the stemcells, we havn't discussed it yet and gynae hasn't brought it up.

Naomi - Good luck to you if this your maternity leave starting, i too start my maternity leave next week, tomorrow is my last day working :) i'm looking forward to sleeping late and just doing nothing!!

Patty - the Karvol is really good, i used it for my son as well, works wonder's for the blocked nose...

Csejake - Good luck for that 4D tomorrow, hope your LO is awake and poses nicely for those pics :) As for bf, it's your choice at the end of the day, not everything works well for all of us, so we do what we feel we are most comfortable with and what is safe for baby...

Vicky - 1.6kg @ 29 wks is quite big, my LO was 1.2kg's at 28 and a half weeks...my next appointment is 1st June, next Tuesday...I can't wait to see my LG again!! :cheer:

As for my pelvic problem, the physio really helped sooo much, the pain is still there but not as bad as it was, so for any of you experiencing that pain, i'd recommend going to see a physio, i don't know why i waited this long!

vickyvdw - YAY for healthy happy baby!! Glad all is well. Don't stress about the meeting, 150Km is not that far and all should be fine. If you really, really don't wanna go, then maybe mention it to your boss, but if you and baba are healthy, there's no reason why you can't go...

Morning ladies,

Ok a quick catch up on events:

Sindy - the note and chocie sounds very sweet ('scuse the pun). Thanks for the post on the breast pump. Will post to see if anyone has used it yet and what their feedback is.

Newbie - shame man, up and awake at such and hour. I completely relate to the blocked nose, I'm not sick at all, but my nose is so blocked that I wake up with dry cracked lips (must actually ask hubby if I'm snoring) also notice blood when I blow... whats up with the nausea though?? Interesting on the stem cell. I think I'll ask our pead what she thinks. I think of it very similarly to insurance. Its a grudge purchase - if you don't need it, you'll never miss it, if you ever need it, you'll wish you had it!

Naomi - enjoy the last day, you lucky thing. Hope all goes well and that the day flies by!

csejake - breastfeeding or not is a very, very personal decision and yes there will be judements (about a hundred million) either way. I think if it is only because you are worried about being able to go back to work, then you should cross that bridge when you get there, if there are other more personal reasons, then you should weigh up the benefits vs. how you feel. Our nurse at ante-natal class said that there is so much good in the first few teaspoons of colostrum, that even if we decide not to breastfeed, she would really encourage us to atleast do the first latch /feed and try to give that to the little ones, apparently every week that your baby is breast fed, is better than not being breastfed at all. All that said, I was lucky that I was able to breastfeed and I will definately try again, but if you decide not to, or are not able to, you are no lesser a mom, its about what works for you and your baby. Good luck, its a tough decision, but it should be your decision.

hi ladies,

im feeling so much better i think it has to do with knowing that baby is okay.. more than okay she is doing great. According to my doctor he says that i am actually only 29 wks this week as per my first scan she is 2 wks and 2 days ahead. she weighs in at 1.616 kgs and dr said she is big. i only see him again on 30 june as he is apparently on leave. little nervous about that but it is fine if any problems i will go straight to the hospital. ladies the other things is that she is already in position. and lying very low. but dr didnt seem worried so im not. i was so happy to be able to brag about her weight especially to the one lady who was making all the comments about me being small........ petty i know , but it felt good.

bp was up but not bad so dr wasnt worried , i told him about the stress the last couple of days and he said it could just be that reason that im getting all the headaches. no proteins or anything in urine. i also spk to him about anaethatist apparently he says that the dr he uses is very good and that i should just work on getting my mind into the right space and that all would be okay. i have booked my bed officially and 4d is next week saturday.. so exciting. the gynae did a 3d of baby girls face and she has the exact same nose as my other daughter.. the cutest little button nose ever. this is starting to all feel so real and as time gets closer its exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time.

naomicee- congrats on last day at work.

sindy d- really does suck , hope you feel betta soon, try and relax as they , dosnt help stressing over something you cant change. allthough that doesnt help the situation... sorry dont have much more advice.

thanks to all you ladies for the well wishes.

im a little upset. my boss came to me yesterday and was asking when am i going on maternity. i said 9 july.. so then he says we have to have our departmental meeting befor i leave and now it looks like it will be 17 and 18 june.. come back 19 june.. i will be 34 wks by then and i really dont think i should be travelling. i asked where will we go and how far is it. he said 150kms radius not sure yet. now im wondering if i should just tell them straight and refuse im not going. my other boss joked and said if i go into labour he ll catch the baby. i dunno maybe im stressing over nothing.?????

you guys were talking about bf. my bf is in durban spk to her on most days.. but not the same as having her here with me. dont have family here either besides my sister in pta.
have "friends" at work , but thats just at work never actually socialise with them as such.. maybe once in blue moon. so ja i know what you guys are meaning when you say you miss them.

anyhow i must go. will spk to you all again

Good Morning Preggies

Hope you ladies are fabulous this morning coz I am.I'm so over the moon with the fact that I'm going for my 4D tomorrow and honestly can't wait to see my little darling.DH is also very excited about the whole idea of the 4D,and we will be with our family so I'm looking foward to everyone jumping around me,the pampering and staff.
Ladies has anyone of you thought of not breastfeeding?I personally feel that I don't want to bf,please advice.I knowthat breast milk is good for baby but is it realy wrong to choose not to,
The thing is I work in a chemical plant where breastfeeding is really not ideal for bf moms,so am worried that if I start my baby on breast milk and he gets used to it I might be difficult for him when I get back to work.I'm really stressing about it and you know the judgemental people that will be lecturing me on how good breast milk is.eish ladies plaese help either on your past experiences coz this is my first baby.Thanx
