Hello ladies!!!

Belaine, I couldnt have said it better than Joybaby. There is definitely pros and cons to both so definitely do your homework. When I was pregnant with Connor I was pretty much open. I said I would go naturally and if possible without pain relief but I didnt have my heart set on it. Going natural for me was fun while I waited to go into labour. It gives you the element of surprise. I managed without pain relief for a couple of hours (5 to be precise :) ) but ended up with an emergency c-section and I wasnt fussed at all. You will know what you want when it gets closer. Dont put too much pressure/stress on yourself.

Thanks JB, just need to get through this week and will be happy :) Was at my gynae yesterday (my old new one) was so nice to see her again. Baby is measuring perfectly and was moving so much that we did battle to get decent pics. The Nuchal fold measured 1.4mm, doc happy with that. Went for all the blood tests for downs as well so we'll wait for that. Doc saw a nose bone plus heartbeat was strong so pretty happy with everything. Connor came with as well. He loved it.
Oh and JB, my gynae at the 20 week anatomy scan sends all her patients to a fetal assessment specialist just to make doubly sure all is ok. Its a nice gesture but also a very expensive one!

Lucy, a quick question, Alberlito Hospital, is there anywhere else to park if the parking is full?? It was absolutely chaotic yesterday, we were directed my the security to park in a reserved parking spot and then seriously battled to get out of it I seriously dont want to have to battle every time.

How is everybody else doing?

Oh and here is a picture of my scan. Not the greatest.

Hey everyone
Shew its cold and wet in Cape Town and it looks like it's here to stay!

Belaine everyone will have a different opinion about this one hey.
I would say wait it out till you're about 36 weeks to see if baby is lying right for natural birth or not then you'll be a lot more convinced about what you want to do. You dont have to make a choice before then so still 2,5 months to go.
But what I would suggest is to go for an antenatal class at your hospital or local midwife unit. Try find one that will give you the pro's and con's of both birthing options.
Because there is more to natural than just natural. You will have to decide if you want pain management with pethidine / oxygen / epidural or if you want to go all natural, and to know all the side effects these methods come with.
C-sec comes with its own risks and things to consider and ask your doctor about which you will also learn more about at one of these classes.
And then you can go to your gynae and ask him questions based on what you learn so that you can make an informed decision.
As long as you are happy with the choice you make and that you were informed when you made your choice, you shouldn't have regrets later. But this is probably one of the most important choices you'll make in pregnancy so do your homework.
One can go to antenatal classes anytime from the 2nd trimester onwards, but I liked to go from 28 weeks and its normally around 6-8 weeks long, one night a week.

So we have 3 pregnancies coming to an end within the month hey!
Please ladies post pics of your bumps, and your baby rooms, and tell us all about your baby showers! And what names have been chosen?

Dinky the last month is hard hey! All you want to do is sleep. I worked from home my last 2 weeks cos driving 2hours+ a day was taking its toll on me!

Klk how is your friend doing?
And happy 12 weeks to you! Cant believe how fast it went! When is your next scan?

One of my friends from school had her c/sec booked for today. I'm waiting anxiously for her update on facebook cos I start getting anxious when I dont hear anything!

AFM - not sure if I mentioned before but we managed to sell the car finally! So one less burden which is actually so nice! I dont know if I will go into debt for a car again soon, will just have to make do with our little corsa lite!

Job hunt still underway. Been to see a few temping agencies. Today saw one last minute and although the position she had in mind wont work as they have a long term assignment, she is confident she'll find something for me to keep me busy till October, and then start marketing me to clients for next year.
A bit bummed that the job in mind wasnt possible as it was really nice, and with lots of potential but I gotta keep believing that it's all in God's timing.

Baby is well although I do still stress cos I dont really feel much movement yet and its been 3 weeks since my last scan. So going again next Tuesday for my 20 week scan and hopefully we'll get another look to confirm gender, and see that all is okay. Will then book for fetal assessment at a specialist for 23/24 weeks. Looking forward to getting that over with!

Kaylee is a dream child at the moment. She is still a toddler who has her tantrums and so on, but watching her personality develop and seeing her grow up makes it all worth it. I absolutely love this stage. They absorb absolutely everything. She is potty training at creche, allbeit slowly. But now she's seen the bigger kids sitting on the big toilet so she doesnt want to sit in the little potty anymore, but on the big toilet. It's going fairly slowly but it's winter and she's not yet 2 so we just encourage her as often and much as possible.
She is speaking a lot, and started saying 2-3 words together. A lot involve the word "Kayee" or "Mommy".

Anyway must go rest on the couch for an hour before the evening rush starts!

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.

Starting to get tired during the day but it's my last month at work so will grin and bear it...Haven't started packing my hospital bag - very naughty but will get on to it as soon as I can make head or tail of what's going on in the nursery...not much more to tell.
