No personals from me today. Just 2 things that popped up in my head:

Anje, what a long and thorough post, LOL. Seems you had a lot of time on hand.

Meags, not long now. It's going to happen soon, so try to relax for the last few days. (Yes I know it sounds like stupid advice...)

AFM: Went for my almost 34 week scan and baby is at 2.7kg. She basically picks up 500g every 2 weeks. If she keeps to this pattern, she will by 4.2kg and more at full term. Kimika, seeing as she will probably not be early, change my estimate weight to 4.4kg.

Ok ladies.....PLEASE can we have some babies this week!!!!!!!

Faw - I also went to Star of the Sea! Small world! Although when i was there it was only co-ed up to standard 1! How are the breasts doing? How are the cabbage leaves working out? Sure they must be doing some good as everybody always says cabbage leaves...

Meags - you seem as impatient as I am begging to get. I did say Tuesday so wonder of my prediction will be right? I would not like to wait until 42 weeks...I would also induce at 41 (that is how far my gynae said he would take me but maybe it is cos i am an old maid!) Re eating at some ridiculous hour......JUST PUT YOUR FOOT DOWN! Tell him whatever...your blood sugar is low, its bad for the baby...its not making a scene, its pointing out the obvious. Thank you for all the bath info. AND yay on show!!

Amy - we have decided to start baby and cot in the nursery from day 1 (this is the theory anyhow). As we are newbies to all this we may change our mind. The nursery is right next door to our room and i personally (although i am sure it will be hard) think I want baby in own room from Day 1. Feel this will make a move later into own room less stressful. I have a anglecare monitor (which also has a sensor pad fro non movement/breathing) so that also puts my mind at ease, and If needs be I can sleep in the nursery. Re the Graco pram - we have a graco travel system (pram, carrycot, car seat in in one thing. Once again we are newbies so can not give any advise on it yet! I do like the carrycot that fits in the pram and if our "baby in own room" theory fails then baby will be in carrycot in pram next to our bed. Dh has pointed out that I even slept with our kittens the first night they were with us so he cant really see me leaving babies side! Re the car seat....Meags you just gave me the idea that I better see how it works ASAP...lol dont need fights and dramas in hospital parking area with DH when we realise we have no idea how the car seat works!

Lucy...getting closer!!! Hope you enjoying yor last few days of maternity leave freedom! Sounds like you had a very special birthday...and yay on the smart phone now you can do live updates from your hospital bed!!

Betty – wow sounds like a long day trip to hermanus, I would have been asleep on the way home in the car...pity you did not have the camera! At least we have a cooler day in CT today!

Schatsie – yay we only have 7 days left to drive to work... 

Emsmom – glad spec has stayed put! Now your whole family is here for his grand entrance into the world!

Morning moomies and moomies to be!!!

What a lovely day to wake up in CT....NO HEAT! We had a bit of thunder and lightning at about 5am this morning. As soon as I heard th thunder I went into Panic mode and went running out into the garden looking fro my kitties (they have been sleeping outside as I think the house is just to hot for them). I could not find them and was getting a bit frantic! Was trying to call them, but not to loud as DH was fast asleep. But with the first flash of lightning they appeared! Off cors I was wide awake afetr that so have had a early start to my day!

Ok Baby shower: As I mentioned I thought something was up but was not sure. So we go to friends of ours fro a braai on Saturday and when we get there I am scanning the road fro cars I might recognise etc and nothing....so we go inside and nothing... so i think ok we just here fro a braai. then next thing everybody came pouring out into the lounge. It really was a schock and surprise. I just burst into tears! And then very last my friend from JBH came out and I was just so over welmed! (have not seen her since my wedding last April). Outside was all set up so nicely with yummy yummy food. All the gifts had a piccy on of people as babies so had to guess who it was and what was inside the gift...but no stupid forfits! It was just a perfect wonderful afternoon with friends and family. I got such lovely things....its funny you think you have everything yet there is always something you dont have or did not think off! Apparently DH was very involved in gift advising! And then at the end of the shower I got my special gift from DH wit hthe spa and maternity shoot yesterday....

And gosh it was lovely. It was at Zorgvliet winefarm in stellenbosh. It specilizes in Maternity therapy. He drove Michelle and I there and we first had lunch and then went to the spa fro our BUNDLE OF JOY PACKAGE. it was 3 hours of pure pampering..body exfoliation, oil massage, facial, mani and pedi! I really loved the facial part as beleive it or not have never had a facial before! I also had no lower back pain when we were done and just felt amazing!!

Then it was the photoshoot....cant wait to see the pics! She said should take about 2 weeks so will post as soon as I get them.

OK going to post this then do personals as so scared going to loose again!!

Hi girls. I managed an hour and a half sleep. Thank heavens. Still sweating. BUT my breast has come right and the pain and redness is gone.
Abdul still got a temp, but its only .4' up so im watching it.
Meags i went on friday to have the stitches removed and the sister said that i can take the dressing off today, but she didn't say if i must have it dressed again. Im dying for a shower. Do you know if i must put another bandage on it again or not or for how long, or would it be better to just go back to diskem and see what she says?
Is there anything i can give abdul if his temp goes up? With Sulaiman i used some formula to work out how much to give him via his weight and then gave him that much panado. I just don't remember how i worked it out.
My mom is going to drop me off at home affairs. And then ill have to move from there on my own.

Meags, yay for the show! I went into labour with Em 2 days after having mine. I'm checking everytime I go to the loo now to see if I've got mine cause I know then its round the corner!
Just hang in there a little while longer, I totally understand the emotions involved. Its hard and people tend to think you are ungrateful. But they are not the ones 9 months pregnant. I'm also so ready to have this baby now, even though logic tells me to keep him in a little while longer.

Faw, sorry you are having a hard time, hope things come right soon and settle.

Kimika, I recall girly had the same problem with Kaylee, she fought the one boob, but eventually it passed, keep offering, and if he doesn't take, express from the left and feed from the right untill he takes both again.

I've got Em at home again today, she's not really sick, but very unhappy and snotty, so I would rather just keep her at home for a duvet day.

Its lovely and raining today! Bliss!

Ah no Faw It really sounds like things are not going well for you at the moment. I just hope it is the breast that is the problem and not your c-section that is maybe infected. Perhaps ask the nurse/doctor to check both for any signs of infection. Sorry your kids are acting up...they always seem to do that at the most inconvenient of times Is there no other family or friend who could give you a lift to the clinic??
Is Abdul's stump bleeding a lot or just a bit? It is normal that it can bleed once falling off, but not a lot. you just need to keep adding surgical spirits and keep it clean and dry.

Kimika strange about Reuben fighting the left boob...keep persisting though. They need to feed from each side to help them develop co-ordination and things like that!

EmsMom when is your next check up?

Well its midnight here and I cant sleep...so those 2 nights of good sleep was heaven...but now here I sit!! I had another good cry in bed earlier. Just wish Matt would come. I am an emotional wreck just sitting waiting. At least if there was a set date, one can do a count down and it just seems so much more 'acceptable'! Also just so sad that DH is not attracted to me while pregnant as I really feel like a beached whale and his rejection kind of rubs that in....... I told him that tomorrow he has to give me his sperm. Sex or masturbation or whatever, I need it. He didnt object...so we'll see what happens. I dont really think that 1 supply of sperm is going to set off labour...but I really am trying EVERYTHING.
Ate the eggplant parmiagna for dinner, then drank my raspberry tea in a boiling hot bath. Oh and while I was putting in my evening primrose capsules I had my show...so hope that means the cervix is dilating a bit more.

Gonna watch some TV and probably sleep on the couch. Feeling so sorry for myself these days

EventuallY my mom came to help. Im still up and its nearly 6 o clock. Abdul has a mild temp and keeps waking up as soon as i put him down. Im sweating like never before. I think its rainy and cool outside which is not the sort of weather to take two sick ppl out in, but time is running out and i need that social grant for abdul. Last week was recovery week and this week is mad. Sars, home affairs, doctor, social services, divorce court cos i wanna know whats going on. And so the list keeps growing. No time to rest, although i think ill crash and sleep at some stage.
My breast is still not great, but im not sure, its still red, and i had to take panado. I had a hot cup of honey lemon tea to try break this fever, hence the sweating. The cough has gone quiet for now too. Better try get abdul to sleep in his bed and get ready to go out while i have the energy.
