Morning girls.. another "lots-to-do-day" but trying to get some personals done while Reuben is falling asleep. Strangely he takes quite a while to fall asleep this time of day.. he has very long "chill out" sessions where he just stares :)

FAw, goodness girl.. hoping you have your baby in your arms by now!!! Will be praying that things speed up.. wish I could do something to help!!!

Schatsie thanks for updating us. Glad the support thingie helped a bit!! You need some sleep ;)

Joli, hope you are able to get to the dentist. Expressing is really hard.. How did the swimming lesson go?

Cath, youre looking great :) William is def doing you tons of good!!

Lucy, hope you are feeling better xxx Thank goodness you can see your dr tomorrow. Will put your mind at ease. You will be great with BFeeding.. especially if you have someone like your midwife to help.

Mistymom, well done on the shopping!

Tazzy, wow you are doing fab!! Amelia is such a little angel! Thanks for the pics.. she looks sooo gorgeous in her pink and white. Yip on thinking about feeding time and then the letdown comes :) Then little baba gets a spray in the face! I think thats what makes expressing so hard, you dont get that extra stimulation to get the milk flowing.

Reubens stuffy nose is better.. I won another lottery yesterday (boogie sucked out) so we are getting there.. still not 100% open. And his poo is yellow seeds again so thats sorted too.. hehe

Meags, so did you write up your birthplan or are you going to shout it to the midwives while inlabour?? LOL Re the stitches.. last one is almost out, that was the deepest one. They are a bit sore for a day or so, then its more the swelling and uncomfortable that bothers... like when you get up or sit you dont want to sit straight on them. I stopped taking pain stuff on the Tuesday. But the icepacks you need to do a few days to help the swelling. But really it wasnt sore. As it heals it gets uncomfy again and a bit itchy and then as the stitches come out its uncomfy again. But this time around was bliss.. they really never bothered me and there was 4 of them.. My first birth I had a bad tear and it was PAINFULL for about 6wks!! Dont want to go there EVER again.. So if you want my opinion re tear vs cut pls ask ;)

On hospital bags, I guess you have to pack a labour bag with things you will need for that..hubby can take that one home after baba is born. Then obviously you will need your own bag with pj's, pads, slippers gown etc I didnt take my vanity bag, only took a small cosmetics bag. I bought smaller sizes of bodywash, toothpaste etc to spare some space. And onlypacked essential toiletries. Then you pack one bag for baba with his clothes, nappies and blanket. They provided bag with all the wipes etc. So you will still end up with 4 bags :) And a camera.. and your cellphone.. hehe.. but dont worry too much, hubby can bring along stuff if you forget. Oh and remember to pack a plastic bag for dirty clothes, pj's. If they get blood on just pop them in there.

Glad your hubby is opening up a bit. Im with you on being home all day and hubby has to work.. I think there are a lot of families that has to live with this. But staying at home with the kids is also a sacrafice an not always just loveley and blissfull. It can become exhausting. Some days you will feel like you want to rather get his horrible job and just not be the caretaker of nappies, feeding time and laundry for a few days. :S

Emsmom  shooo a big baba!! But you were really prepared for it right from the start so atleast youre not in shock yet ;) Did Em also continue growing right up to the end? So great that your gynae is still supportive of your birth choices! Up to how many kg's will he let you do trail of labour?

Another update from Faw: she's still in very slow labour. They have broken her waters and done a stretch and sweep, but if she's not fully dilated by 12h30 they're going to send her to Groote Schuur for an emergency C sec.

Poor girl, she's really having a hard time! I'm sure by that time she will really welcome the C sec!!

Faw - How exciting! Good luck with the rest of your labour, hope it is a breeze! I look forward to haring your happy news!

Schatsie - Thanks for updates and please tell me more about this brace.

Meags, Cath, Tazzy and other ladies who I made worry! - Sorry! Um the cramps started under my belly but now are on the sides. They don't come and go like I would imagine contractions to do. Meags my belly is super hard, but it is often like that. In fact it is rare for it to be soft. It is very sore and uncomfortable and moving hurts like mad. Tessa has been really kicking hard too which hurts even more. My back won't let me lie down and rest. I am worried but until I get some other signs I am just assuming she is getting ready to come. Just want my gynae back incase something else happens. His partner was in labour yesterday herself. So I would have been stuck with no dr. Just need to get through today and have my app at midday tomorrow.

Faw, can't wait to get the good news. I hope things are happening quickly now.

Tazzy, she is adorable! Nothing like a new baby.

Meags, I really don't think anyone will have an issue with 3 bags. It's not like they restrict it in any way. Glad the pain is a bit better. Holding thumbs for a painfree weekend. Dark face cloths, mmm. Don't think the white one I got will be a good idea... Tht thing is they only had white, an ugly beige and orange at the Clicks when I went to buy one. Will have to get a dark one, as it does make sense.

MistyMom, I didn't even know Woollies has a sale on. Will go and have a look, but I really shouldn't spend any money now...

EmsMom, wow wow wow on your little giant ;) . My LB was 3.02 when he was born at 34 weeks 5 days, so pretty much the same as your LO. But the ultra sound measurements can be a bit out as well.

Schatsie, thanks for the Faw updates! Glad the brace helps a bit.

Alexander (the Great) born 17 Feb 2009, now a little man:-)

Tazzy - gorgeous!

Faw thinking of you so much!!

Scahtsie, glad you got sorted re your back!!! Oooh, you are going to just LOVE being pregnant!

am sickened re teh woolies sale!!! I bought 2 full price maternity bras alst week (too small i thought i was already back to 36D) so went back yesterday DUH day before the sale and got 2 more - you know they dno't accept returns - also full price and AGAIN the wrong size 38D when in actual fact am still a 38DD! So cross with self! also bought full price little outfit for gorgeuos as I didn't think I'd get to sale hope I still do but most bitter about the bras!!!!!

Lucy where are you!

Meags lol re birth plan! Emsmom you sound v organised gosh it's all v exciting! Mistymom also good idea re keeping everything separate!

W remains a delight! he does get a bit niggly from 6pm-7.30pm these past few nights but apart from that he is just perfect! slept 8pm then up at 12-ish and then 4.30-ish what a champ! this mornig we had him in bed with us and we were just gazing at him in wonder and we were almost certain he alsmot smiled!!! he is sucha happy content and serene little chap. really we are so blessed.

meags anything to do wtih hospitals and med aid anywhere in the world is a total nightmare i can so relate to your experience but what can you do grin and bear it!!! so often in an example luike yours i want to say OMG when I SAID i just need a stamp what precisely did you think i was saying?!?!? Oh lord it is a huge frustration. Sterkte!!

My med aid paid the hospital in full thank God now just to get my gynae costs back - told me this am that 10 days later it was never received must resubmit luckily stll got some cashflow but really! everything is paper based and soo inefficient! UIF is also submtited, they said it's all fine (went through moms uif) but as joli said i still had to run aruond getting tnos of forms etc etc myself - they say now just wait 6-8 weeks. We get paid in 14 days time I've actually done rather well on only 60% salary -very proud of my self, apart from the bra disaster have not made unnecessary frivolous purchases, yay for me! not being able to drive the first 2 weeks also helped immensely LOL! :)

little one stirring.

love
