Emsmom, so sorry to hear Em is not well! It must be SO horrible seeing your daughter ill and there is really nothing much you can do!

Cathm sorry to hear you had such a rough night! I suppose that is what everyone warns us first time moms against and it's bound to happen some time. So sweet how you said you held his hand and he fell asleep though!

Forgot to add earlier that I got my hospital pre-authorisation today. I phoned for it, but they had one of those self help services. I nearly gave up cause I just don't have the patience to deal with those things, but luckily I heard they said you could just e-mail them. Now I LIVE on my computer and e-mail and would never ever pick up a phone if I could just send mails, so this was very nice! I just mailed them the date and details and got the authorisation doc today. I forgot to mention my gynae's name, so they put my previous gynae/fertility dr on, so I just had to ask them to change that, but wow, this really was fast and efficient! Yay Bonitas!

agh no emsmom hope little em feels better soon i wish babies and children never had to get sick!!!

Congrats Faw and Drieke! 2 babies in one day!!

Sorry for no other personals, just been called to fetch Em early cause she was vomitting at school - and then she got sick in the car on the way hom, so had to clean her and the car, and now she is passed out next to me, and I'm stressing. Hate seeing my angel sick...

Meags – agh no man!  very sorry about latest. Glad you could vent. I’m so sorry that you are taking it as a reflection on YOU – it’s not! Your dh clearly has his own issues, and I honestly don’t believe that they have anything to do with having a kind, beautiful lovely wife! I think he is so mired in his own stuff that all you are and what you have to offer can’t really be seen, hence the isolation, lack of intimacy etc etc It’s NOT that it’s not there, it’s just he can’t see it due to whateve r- his self indulgence, his selfishness/anxiety/depression. Please believe that it is NOT you! And that you deserve a BETTER life! As you said, you can give him til x amount of time after birth and hopefully he snaps out of it and if not well then you can make other arrangements. For now, try keep positive and separate HIS issues from having anything to do with you and all that you are hey? Hard I know, but important!! Your birth instructions to him are very cute and nice and clear well done! And for doing birthplan! I wonder when Matthieu will come!

Schatsie that’s sooo awesome re the work shower and that it was total surprise!

Kimika you sound so busy and on top of things!!! awesome!! I WONDER how Joli is and how she got on at UIF?

We got what I thought were very nice birth announcement cards designed with pic of us 3 on the front, hmmph, they just arrived and I’m so disappointed, they didn’t even photoshop or check before printing. On the screen the pic was lovely but in print we both look totally sunburned HELLO! In fact my poor dh looks like he has a bit of nose cancer (big red blotch on nose?!) and I just look totally zonked out with sunstroke! Bright red! Honestly! You’d think they’d check the proof and do one print and adjust. Anyway! Am just going to send as is what can I do. Hopefully people will just think it was the ‘exertion’ but it was over R1,000 to print design etc so am a bit irritated. Bleh!

What a night I had! William went to sleep beautifully at 8-ish (btw my routine not coming along so great – the 6pm feed, then 10pm then feed on demand, then 6am, 10am, 2pm 6pm and 8pm bath then 10pm last feed, you’ll see why!) then was up at midnight I think for about 2 hours shame just wouldn’t settle and seemed ravenously hungry? And I was sooo tired by the end of it, gave him bottle (made up twice) and breast and even dipped dummy in gripe water he was having none of it poor little angel. Dh had important meeting this morning so went to spare room at midnight so eventually I put William in bed with me and the sleep wedge and held his hand and he fell asleep. He was up again at 5am ( I think like 3 hours or even 2.5 after falling asleep) and I was sooo tired dh helped me feed him and W and I went back to sleep I think at 7am – we both slept til ELEVEN!!!! Gosh I have never been so tired in whole life and W was a little champ for letting me sleep so long. Then he had quick feed and is about to get up again now. But heavens, that was the most hectic night so far! Must run little one is waving his arms around!

Hey girls, I just had a surprise baby shower here at the office!! I really was TOTALLY surprised, I thought I had a meeting re invoicing for our projects with my boss and I go up to the 10th floor, can't find the room we're supposed to be in and see a lot of people sitting there. So I wondered if I had missed my one ex colleagues farewell party, but then they called me over and told me they're having a baby shower for me! How nice of them?! I really didn't expect to have one! They were also super considerate to give me cash, rather than gifts, because they knew that we've pretty much got everything.

So now we have some extra cash to buy something nice for baby.

I'm really having a good day! My boss also finalised my parking arrangements, so my last 3 weeks at work will be a lot easier!

ClaireC, you're right, the little things really do count now! I'm also feeling quite a bit better from the back brace!

Driekie congrats on your LB's birth and Ankia, thanks for letting us know! Hope to see some pics and hear your story soon!

Gee, 6 boys and only 2 girls on our thread so far and I'm guessing Emsmom and Mistymom are also having boys. Where oh where are our sons going to find wives one day? LOL

Faw's mom phoned me this morning to tell me she has Faw's phone and will go visit her later and return the phone. Shame the poor lady also sounds exhausted, having to look after her husband, Faw's older son and having had almost no sleep in 30 hours. Hope I hear from Faw again soon!

Tazzy, interesting to hear that you also had the SPD pain! People generally look at me funny when I tell them about it. Most people seem to think that some aches and pains is just normal for pregnancy, but I have some friends who really had the most perfect, blissful pregnancies.

Cathm, I'm definitely going to be like you and LOVE NOT being pregnany anymore!!

Ag man.. sorry Meags I can believe your heart is totally broken now.. Strange that he would rather do that then have the real thing!! Maybe he thinks its less of a "mission"? Maybe ask him if you can rather do it?? Surely he knows you are more than willing!!!?? And he cant just tell you stuff like that and then ignore you and go to sleep! He needs to make you understand why he thinks that way aaiii

As for his part in the birth, your list is perfect!! You can also add there that if you tell him you cant do it anymore or dont want to continue/ask for pain relief/ or you are too tired... let him tell you that you are almost there.. My book said that a sure sign that baby is near birthing is that you feel you just CANT anymore.. thats a good sign!! And it really is.. you just feel this awesome feeling of the whole experience being too much for you - and then baby is born

Oh and I think you did great on taking those pics all by yourself! And you really still look happy The little shoes are tooo much cuteness!!! Really special.. And Im going to say it because I mean it well and know you wont mind: Your belly is still huge!!!

Betty, yes go buy the pigeon one!! Its about R50. It has a little adapter that is soft and tiny to fit in baby's nose. The others have big openings so it cant go in. I tried the Illiaden drops along with meds that dr prescribed, but they really didnt help.. seems like its more a thing of baby's nose being little bit sensitive after birth and irritated inside so it creates mucous. Ive been saying Ill start up the humidifier every day and havent done it yet.. so going to do it today and Im sure it will help too! Thanks for reminding me!!

Mistymom, ahh how I miss those kicks and tickles Enjoy every one of them!!! Was your baby head down all along? The weight of his/her head is prob causing pressure down there.

Tazzy, congrats to you and hubby on your anniversary! Hoping she gives you enough time to have dinner Great that she gained her weight back again.
