Cath - supermom, sounds like a lovely evening you had planned. After a relaxing day for you, great that you got some time out! I was one of those moms who was with baby constantly- the first time I left him with DH alone he was about 2 months. It was to go to a kitchen tea and I remember wishing the time away so that I could just get back to him.

Schatsie- the back brace sounds like it is giving you much needed relief! Sooo pleased. Also yay on the close parking bay. Lucky for me I park in our building. Which was not the case with first baby, and sometimes the walk after work up to my car through town was exhausting, especially in the last month...
Yes I agree - Misty, a hero and our resident shopper! I managed to get to canal walk, straight to the babysence goodies and nursing bra's. Got some other bits and pieces for M, and was out in 20mins, just managed to miss most of the traffic and fetched M from school in good time.

Faw- wondering how you are getting on. Schtsie thanks for keeping us updated.

Emsmom- any more signs?

Kimika- was wondering how you were getting the bogies out of Reuben's nose. I read of a father who could not take seeing his baby all blocked up that he sucked it out with his mouth.
The nasal aspirator I had with M was useless- perhaps I should get the pigeon one.
Do you use a humidifier in Reuben's room? I never had one with M, but it is supposed to help clear the nose. M's paed also recommended iliadin drops the first time he had a cold.

Meags - well done on the birthing plan, and the list for DH... Perhaps all the cleaning will bring the labour on! Stunning pics- love the way the stars creep around your tummy.

Mom to Matthew, born 8 March 2008
baby girl due 29 April 2011

hi guys!!

arg ok I am over this waiting for Matthieu...I mean...if I'm gonna get haemorrhoids during delivery then what difference does it make getting rid of them now only to get them again?
so he may as well come now :silly:

I really thought with all the stress of moving, lifting heavy objects etc etc etc I would have had him by now - seems this little guy is determined he can defy ANYTHING! sure he'll stay in until 42 weeks and I'll have to be induced - and he'll probably still put up a fight!

So not only did I do my birth plan but I cleaned the house. As in wiped down everything, dusted, swept and mopped. vacuumed couches and now I am going to prepare dinner.

I also tried to do some belly photos. Didnt exactly come out the way I wanted but it's so impossible trying to set the camera to a timer and then get positioned before the 10 seconds is up!! I will post a few.

Here is my expectation list of DH! Let me know what you think:

Please tell me I am doing a good job often!
Remind me to breathe slowly and focus on a focal point
Please be positive and try make me stay positive
Offer me water to drink often
Offer me ice chips
Massage my back/apply pressure as I need it
Comfort me when the pain seems too much and remind me I can do this.
Support my decision not to have pain relief
Be patient - it takes time to have a baby!
Please dont tell me you are tired - because I am tired!
Don't take offence if I snap at you - it's not personal - I am just trying to cope with the pain.
Hold my hand, hug me and tell me you love me.
Don't be afraid to ask questions when procedures are explained to us.
Remember to take photos during the labour
Try arrange for someone else to take photos of the birth so that you can continue to support me and not worry about the camera
Remember to set up the laptop to video the birth.
Champagne into the fridge!
Don't be afraid of holding our new baby - and placing him skin to skin on your chest is best.

Kaylae, thanks for popping in!! Still missing you xxx I read your message on teh other thread and it was sooo special and wonderfull.. I was just too sad to reply. You are such a strong and brave women.. You are inspirational and Im sure you will in future, if not already mean a lot to other women who go through the same thing. Hugs to you!!!!

Faw, you poor thing!!! You must be so exhausted!! Wonder whats happening? Can kick myself for not sending her my cell nr!!

Schatsie, thanks again for the updates.. And Yipee for perky boobs :)

Karin, I just saw the pics on fb and she is soooo sweet ! Enjoy every second of holding her and playing dol :) Im with you on the snotty nose.. its sooo horrible!! Not much you can do.. saline drops and try sucking out the boogies with one of those aspirators (I have pigeon one and works great). Reuben's boogies only started coming out with aspirator a week after he strarted snoring :( I guess he came through the birth canal way too fast to have his mucous squished out ;)

Meags, well done on getting the birthplan sorted!!! yipee :) How is your hubby's list? Wish I couldve seen his face when he reads about his *tasks* hehe..

MommyN, I also cant believe our babies are born/due soon already!! I also def thought I would go into March.. but hey we have now learnt very well that babies have their own plans hey! I sent you a message on fb ;)

Emsmom.. shoo dont get me all excited here with your BH and period pains and all!! You and Lucy.. aaiii aaiii aaiii!! Well, it will be great to have more babies being born soon ;)

Cath, I just had to have a laugh at you saying your are going to watch a movie and Will :) Have you noticed that when you are away from your baby you will suddenly think about him and realise how much you miss him.. and then you get like a weird tingly feeling inside? Even my boobs get a feeling like needles and pins when I miss him! Wonderfully weird.. It would be absolutely devastating to be away from him for more than an hour (shopping hour).

Speaking about shopping, thanks for the woolies sale update, went there and they have really great stuff. I got a 5 pack of g-string for like R35!! And white I might add.. seeing that my stitches are ALL out and bleeding 99% gone.. greatstuff!!

Rakker, ya, seems DH and I breed big children. Em is already is size 7-9 clothing and she is only 4...

Cath well done on going out! Its hard, but def something you need to do. Otherwise by the time you really want to get out baby is not used to being with other people.

Lucy I actually think you may be before me. Emotionally I would love it to be today, but logically I know that spec needs to stay put for another 10 days. I know with the size she is right now she would be ok if born, but the longer she bakes the better.
Please try get yourself some rest now! You're going to need it if you go into labour soon!

Meags I'm glad that your birthplan is done now, its helps when the time comes that everyone at least knows what you are wanting.

Schatsie that is horrid about Faw! I am also SO glad I've got medical aid! I had a friend who had the same problem when I was pregnant with Em, she was in labour for 36 hours before they c-sectioned her - and the baby has scratch marks all over her head from the nurses doing internals.

oh no poor Faw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why did they not call the hospital before transferring her to make sure there was a bed for her?? AARRGGG gov hospitals are awful sometimes!
So now what Schatsie? Any idea what is going to happen???
Will they open a bed for her or does she get transferred somewhere else?
Oh no poor poor thing :(
