Morning girls

Faw has been updating me: she went to the hospital around 10h30 last night. At 6h00 this morning she was only 3 cm dilated and by 8h00 no one had checked on her again! Just got another sms from her now to say that she is 6 cm now and on the fetal monitor. Her mom is with her, but left her for a while to get some sleep. Her labour with her first son was 14 hours so this one is atually taking longer. She's feeling very tired and nauseous, poor girl!!

AFM, DH and I went to the all night pharmacy last night and I got a maternity back support brace. My dr recommended it and said I should sleep with it too if possible. I put it on immediately and did sleep with it and must say that it really did help a lot, esp with turning around in bed! Thank goodness!! I feel a lot better today after having a bit more decent sleep.

I'm off to a meeting now, so will try and do more personals later.

Misty the thing is I'm hardly eating! I'm drinking lots, but my tummy is so squashed that I can actually eat much. And the fact I've lost 3kg in 2 weeks and baby is still growing...
So cool that you found some stuff at woolies.

Betty, how was DH"s birthday?

Schatsie - did you have a better night sleep last night? Hope all is ok.

So for us I feel the countdown has begun. Even though baby has not yet engaged I'm really just hoping that baby stays in till next friday.

Faw - so exciting, can't wait for the update. Hope you managed to charge your phone. Who is going with you to the hospital? I have heard that 2 nd babies come quickly, so perhaps your LO is hear already.... Good luck and thinking of you.
Oh I was wondering why do you have to stay home for 3 months? Is it beacuse of the baby? Or has it got to do with the divorce?

Schatsie - thanks for keeping us informed.. Hope you had a better night and were not in too much pain.
On the pain part - during the day I feel fine, have no problems, but when I get home and relax, then I start getting the rib pain etc. Not too badly though.

Re the hospital bags- I actually left my bag in the car when I went to hospital. DH fetched the bag later once I was settled in the labour ward. I only had one bag, but agree that it makes sense to split the bag into 3. Although really the only thing I remember using during the labour part is a cd, camera and lip ice. Oh and I think I put socks on.

Meags - glad the healing has started, you definitely sound much better. So glad that they have sorted DH out.. Hopefully he wakes up when you go into labour.

Misty - I too stopped in at the sale- never saw any bras- but did manage to get some clothing for M- the kids stuff always goes first. Went to Bayside. If I leave work early 2 day I may see what canal walk has....

oh yes and still didnt write my bloody birth plan!

thanks MistyMom. Yip same here regarding 1 room for labour and delivery and then moved to 1 room post delivery until discharge.
I also thought it would just be easier to have things grouped! Just hope they dont look at me funny when I arrive - the bags are all small so should be fine I think.

So I went to buy the last things for the bag (nothing exciting...dark face clothes - apparently good for cleaning 'down there' post birth) and some sweets to suck on. went to get the champagne but our budget is so tight again with all the medical bills we had to pay that I didnt end up buying it maybe over the weekend if money has been reimbursed.

MistyMom she just advised to bring nice soft toilet paper as she said I will quickly learn that hospital toilet paper is not very soft!! and same for the towel.

Faw - dying to know what's going on!!!!!!!

so I had to go to the hospital to get a stamp to claim back from insurance (for the ER visit on Saturday) and it took 1 and a half hours. totally ridiculous. I told the lady I only need a stamp. that is it. just a simple hospital stamp. I ended up having to go to international services, waiting for 50 minutes! and then she proceeded to call France and speak to my insurance to find out if its the hospital stamp or the physician stamp (even though it states on the form that either is acceptable and I told her that) and then wanted them to send her a form in english as the one I have is in french and she wanted to fill it in with me. i explained DH is french and fills it in...just need the friggin stamp!! so finally got it.
i also needed an invoice saying we paid already. well she printed something saying 'estimated insurance amount' and another saying 'paid amount' and said i only get a final bill 10 days after being seen?! we paid about $800 in total so she says either they will reimburse a bit or we will get a bill to pay in more? sounds really weird to me. but cant believe it took almost 2 hours just to get a friggin stamp and an invoice that is not even ready for collection.

I am so busy at work....issue deadline again on friday and I have my bloody replacemnet shadowing mje tomorrow...timing sucks!

Somebody asked re y i have 4 blenders...basically a stuff up! I ordered one online....and they sent more by mistake so ya hoping to sell tyhem and then can buy a tumble dryer!

Emsmom - what are you eating~~~~~~~??? GOsh hope you dont go to 5kg....how much did Em weigh?

Meags - i have kept my toiletry bag seperate...that way DH can find something quick if i need him to while in labour. Also not sure if the same there but at my hospital you straight into labour ward adn only into room after...so I have also packed seperate bags....Labour bag (drinks, sweets, cd, camera, some clothes if needed etc), a toiletry bag, adn a ward bag (for me and baby). Medi Clinic provides most things so my ward bag had my nice new going home tracky, baby going home clothes and 2 sets pjs...adn a few things like spare nappys and maternity pads etc if needed. The medi clinic gives you and baby 99% of what you need. You only have 3 bags, you say they small....so i do not think it is a problem! Cant beleiev you must take your own toilet paper!

AFM...last few days have had 2 little hours for me! Did manage to pop into woolies sale and got 3 nursing bras ?(yay for once my size on sale!) fro R55 each!! ALso got a pair "comfy" stretchy active pants (hopsital pj bottoms and comfy pants for home) on sale for R60 ...very happy as could not find any at Mr Price SPort..

Jessica thanks for popping in - I am still in pain but I THINK the healing has started!!! (please God) so I really pray by the weekend I feel much better. Poor DH cant put up with a miserable me all weekend again and I so want a weekend thats special incase baby comes next week.

Schatsie thanks for keeping us posted about Faw!!!!! Please update as as much as you can nice for me to have posts to read throughout the day!! hehe I had to laugh that you would go at the first contraction They say to only go when it's 5-10 minutes apart. No use sitting for SO long in hospital unneccessarily!
