Hi All

Thanks for the congrats on my 2nd scan! I feel like I can really enjoy my pregnancy now - especially since my nausea also seems to be gone now (touch wood). I'm just still suffering from really bad lower backache, went for a massage on Wed but it didn't help, so went for BSR today. That always helps me, but now with my bump starting to show, it is a bit more difficult for her to reach all the necessary spots. I do however feel a lot better already.

AnjeD I'm definitely planning a C sec - also because I like to have things scheduled. I'm also not all that young (will be 38 when baby comes) and don't want to put him or me under any unnecessary stress. I'm also just way too scared of all the tearing that I have heard so many people complain about!

Poor DH had to work an extra shift today, so unfortunately we couldn't go to the Baby Expo yet, so we're going tomorrow morning. SO looking forward to spending time with him this weekend since I haven't really seen him all week! He works shifts and every 2nd week he gets home at 2am when I'm asleep and I leave for work when he's still asleep, so I feel like I'm single every 2nd week. We just hope that he can maybe get another job before baby comes!!

KarinM good luck for your scan and anomaly discussion - I hope all goes well for you and baby!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

hey ladies

Karin, good luck for the scan! Looking forward to hearing all about it :)

Kaylee- nice dream :) About your friend, it would be her fallopian tubes, basically what the eggs are carried down. However if he thinks all is well, then he can't be that concerned.

AnjeD - I also like the c-sec option cause I like having my ducks in a row, so knowing the date is great, but with Em, she was booked for the 9th and I went into labour on the 1st... So you still cant be sure. I found I didnt worry about my wound at all with Em. I could still pick her up and go about as normal. The big thing for me now is if I have a c-section I wont be able to pick Em up (she is over 20kg now) and I wont be able to drive for min 2 weeks. Cant do that to myself or Em. I wont fight it if I must have one, but will do all in my power to have a vbac.

Well I just took Em to the Dr and she has a bad case of broncithis. - Dr said her chest sounds scary... so we have load of meds, and I really hope we get a good night tonight...

MistyMom – Good question, to tell you the truth I have been putting the birth plan off as well. I don’t want to think about it, because it is out of my control and might not go according to plan. But I have read plenty of opinions on this subject as well. Initially I have always wanted the C-Sec, only because of the fact that I can plan the date and everything else around it (maternity leave, hubby’s leave etc. etc.). I think both natural and C-Sec has its pros and cons – for both mom and baby, so I am not going to make decision based on that. But lately I’ve been thinking to go natural, because it sounds to me you heal much faster and I would like to be able to look after baby and not to worry about a wound. Still have not made up my mind yet, will wait closer to the time.

Karin – Geniet jou scan !!

AFM: I am feeling great today !! I actually had someone asking me yesterday if I was pregnant….hehe….which means other people can actually see my bump now, which is great !!

Girls, hope you have a fabulous day !! It is Friday !!!!

On my birth plan - I plan natural again, but this time without any pain relief. (OK, that's what I day now, LOL). With my first birth, it was all over in 6 hours and of those 6 hours it was really only 3 hours of pain. My waters broke and long after that did I only start feeling the contractions. When I asked for epidural, I was told it is too late for that and that they must do a spinal block. Not knowing what that is, I agreed. Little did I know that baby would be born half an hour after that, pretty much. So if I had known that, and about the fact that I would have no feeling in my lower body, I would have rather taken the pain. So that's why I'm going to try without anything.
