I want to TRY use natrual, reusable nappys (sure there is a word fo rthem but cant think now) for many reasons...anyway she is a bit of a greeny and eco friendly person and she kept on calling the disposable nappies FAKE nappies which i found so funny!

I know there is a thread about nappies so going to go read that afetr my bath....

DH back tomorrow so cant wait...only one more sleep!

Oh ya and sorry Lucy! Think it was Karin!! :)

Mistymom - I got my angel care monitor and mat second hand on gumtree for R500. I think it was Karin that found one for R750?!!

Mommy Jess - Sorry I know nothing about UIF, company are paying me a full 4 months. So I am super lucky

Jessica - I am too paranoid if I know the technology is out there. But I did get a bargain so .....!

Mommy jess and Jessica B - dont get all cut up over in a while...i know what ut feels like! Sometimes (around deadlines) i am also AWOL for a while - i do pop on to read, but just no time for replys!

Gosh it has been quite here today...typical when i have a little free time and nobody to talk too!

Had a lovely lunch today with Meags! Wow so have finally met my first moomie in the flesh! Was great meeting and chatting (although as usual I probbaly chatted to much!) Learnt a lot as usual from meags and she got me thinking of a few things like my birth (have been kinda puting it on the backburner and trying to not think about it!). What I do know is that I want to try for natrual but that is about it! SO if you dint mind me asking what are your birth plans adn why your choice?

Other than that no other news! DH back tomorrow (yay). Not sure of my weight gain as battery gone in the scale (probably a blessing). Tomorrow will be 15 weeks...so hope to feel some form of kicking shortley....

Mommy-jess - I used a lady by the name of Karin, I paid her R500 2 years ago to sort out my UIF benefits and what a blessing she turned out to be!! My UIF payments were done on time every month & transferred straight into my bank account.

I'm lucky I guess as I get 4 months maternity leave with 75% of my salary from work - the balance I claim from UIF. Which I'm definately doing again this time as I'm planning on taking a 5th month unpaid leave.

I feel like a complete shit that I haven't been around much lately but I've been reading the updates everyday that come into my mailbox at work.....

Schatsie - congrats on the LB & good news!!

On the topic of the Angel Care monitor - yes I think its a nice to have but really unneccesary as you'll be sleeping with one eye open the 1st few months while baby is really little - and more than likely even if you have a nursery you'll have baby in the room next to your side of the bed for the first few months anyway.

Hi everyone!

Sorry that I have been so quiet. have been reading everyones posts just do not have the "umf" to really do much.

girls, I have a Maternity leave and UIF question.

I called them to find out when do I apply and what are the ins and outs and stuff like that. and asked them how does the "pay out" work and the guy on the line said " it goes on scale of your salary and what you qualify for" so I asked how do they work it out and he said it goes by your credit record. WTF does that mean? I mean if it goes via my credit record, i'm kinda screwed cause i'm F*****in the department due to a business failing.

so moms that have gone through the UIF process before, how does it owrk? I know you get between 38 and 58 % of your salary. I know my boss is not giving me anything, so how do I know that I will A even get any UIF and B how much I will get per month? I earn R6000 before deductions - and no i'm not shy to say what I earn lol.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

well, we'll have to take some sort of census as to where is best preferred, just don't want to go too far north at this time with Chris (trips) and Maryke (twins) being so close to end date too so maybe we can have one in Nov around Edenvale way and one in Dec further north like Centurion[/quote] (Sorry, didn't get the quote thing right).

Vix, just to clarify, I didn't criticize your choice of area for the meet. I just added Pretoria to your list of areas. Will really try to make it. A meet in Centurion is also not a bad idea. Can't remember, did we say we are going to leave the kiddies at home? Will make it a lot more relaxed...

Lucy the angle care monitor and sensoor mat is R1099 at show at baby city. Be careful with when pricing as there are so many differnet models. The one in sa seems to be the ac401 or something like that! Wow where did you find one for R750?
