Hi ladies!!

I love come online and seeing lots of posts to read :p

Kimika, your baby is so cheeky not letting you see what it is!!! Glad you going to Maryke! I also couldnt wait if I was you.
The pee tests dont pick up thrush unless it has caused a bladder infection too. But then you will be treated for bladder infection and not thrush. The only way to pick up thrush is if you have symptoms or from a pap smear. My last pap smear last year picked up thrush but I had no symptoms which was a bit weird.

Lucy, just remember, teats and dummies dont always cause skew teeth. It is generally a genetic thing :( even sucking thumbs usually doesnt affect it. perhaps it may make the problem a bit worse, but the problem would have been there anyway regardless. But I agree with Joli, I do like the Nuk range :)

Joli, I had my braces at 10 years old and off by 13 years old. at 10 years old I had 6 of my permanent teeth removed, then got braces to fix up everything. at 16 years had my 4 wisdom teeth out. My mouth is too small to hold all my teeth!!!! I must say though, you are suppose to wear the retainer for a year after to maintain the teeth and I didnt do it religiously. and since my wisdom teeth were growing sideways instead of down, it basically moved my teeth again :( so they are not perfect which irritates me after all that hassle with operations and braces!!!! so you'll need to decide if you want to wait until you can see how the wisdom teeth will grow or if you just want to do the braces early on anyway.

Replied by Emsmom on topic Re: March and April 2011 Mommies to Be
Hey ladies, sorry no personals today, I'm sitting at the clinic waiting for my donor now, then need to take her for bloods and then lunch, then another appointment and then back to the airport. She is a real sweetie pie though, so nice and easy to talk to. Cannot figure out how to sign in to moomie on my phone, so I really hope this come through.

Joli I thought so much of you this morning, my dad is doing shoots for fruit and veg this week, so when I went to visit this am there were about 6 crates of nectarines! I ate one for you and have taken a huge bunch home along with peaches ;) so look out at fruit and veg, will be having a special next week I think.

I'm going to give the tommie tippy bottles a try this time, Em was exclusively bf till she turned 1, no bottles no solids. And it was a strain on me, I'm still going to try feed till around 18 months, but will intorduce the bottle at 6 week for expressed milk this time.

Otherwise not much happening, have to have dinner at the inlaws tonight, but otherwise I'm hoping on an early one.

Hope all you ladies are having a great day.

Argh so sweet Kimika. Glad all went well with your scan. I think it's a girl then and she's shy to show you he he :-). Kayla also didn't want to show up to 29 weeks with her 3D scan and then it was mos a boy. Kimika he is sitting in his office with the door closed - does not want to be disturbed. It's so frustrating, but as soon as I get a chance I'm gonna just say it. I had someone else AGAIN asking me whether I'm pregnant this morning.

Glad your dad's hand is OK. And YAY for the gynae! So when are you going to Maryka?? Try to go next week Saturday at around 08h30 (25th). I'll be there to see the midwife. Hope you can see then.

You must take some pee with you in a purity container or something!!

Hi girls!!

Mistymom, my dad's hand is ok. She had to make a ragdoll with clothes and had to put her on a stand (she studies fashion design). So he was cutting the wood pieces for the stand and while guiding the wood he put his finger right onto the saw part. Fortuanetly he only cut his index finger on the side, but the saw is very ragged so its not a clean cut and is going to take forever to heal!! But as soon as they came back from the emergency he as back in the workshop cutting wood.. crazy man! She finished her whole thing at about 1:30 last night.

Mommy-jess, sorry your boss is being such a pain!! For some bosses its only about productivity and getting the job done, the person behind the job doesnt really matter! So sad since its where you spend almost all your time!!

Joli, why not tell him today and then you wont have to look him in the face for the whole day? ;) By Monday he wouldve forgotten.. It really sounds that he is very concerned for small babies.. otherwise he wouldnt have had a problem with the moms working! So maybe he will be excited for you !!

Thanks about the tips for thrush girls.. Will that pee tests they do every check-up pick up if you have thrush or dont they test for it?

Ok now for the scan update: Baby is doing great!! Im not sure on the hearbeat but she checks the pulsing of the cord now and said its great. Also checked the spine and all is looking great there.. so cute to see that whole line of dots fitting together!! Weight was 145g and about 16cm. And ofcourse the baby decided to turn on its tummy and tuck the cord between the legs... :( So we couldnt see!! She said she kept seeing girl then boy and was now even more confused.. she said if you look at the wrong angle a girl can look like a boy. Cause I saw boy but she said it was the wrong angle. So she said she cant even try to guess for us! She was pushing and poking for 10mins but baby just refused to move the cord! LIttle rascal :P So now Im back to desperately curios square 1! As soon as I got in the car I left a message for Maryke for a scan there.. no way Im waiting for my 21wks scan! lol

Also you wont believe me but I forgot to pee in the container again!!! Now Ill have to go back tomorrow .. eish.

But some good news, I asked my gynae about her pregnancy and leave so she said her baby is due early Jan and will only be taking 2wks leave so she will def be back for my birth. yipeee!!

Shame man. My SIL also had them last year. But I want to do it for Kayla ASAP. Just not sure when they will actually do it. I think you need to be a certain age, like 13 or something. Will hear what the dentist got to say when I take her again. Her two bottom teeth are also yellow stained due to too much antibiotics when she was little.

Joli - Braces are really sore .... especially as an adult when your teeth are very fixed and hard to move!! I definately recommend getting them fixed while she is in high school. The bones are still fairly soft and it is much easier to correct ...... over a shorter time! They make coloured ones now a day so they are "trendy" for kids.

I survived so it can't have been too bad!! :P
