hey all,

I'm with Medihelp.I was about 4 weeks when I signed up, I had know like 3 days cause of a home preg test.

I got a call from Medihelp because I allpied online and a Rose Constable called me back. I told her that I was pregnant and she said not a problem, she sent me the forms and I sent them back to her and she gave it to the admin department.

I have sent her an Email asking her about the cover for the pregnancy, but have not had a reply yet. I guess I'll just have to have faith that I was not stuffed around.

Momm-Jess what medical aid are you on? I think that most will not cover for pregnancy if you are already pregnant when you join! I would call the broker ASAP and chat to her about it. I know that there are a few medical aids out there that will take on early pregnancys but not sure who they are. Call your broker. Make sure you have all your facts straight then call back the medical aid.

Good Luck!!

Shame MistyMom - can't be nice to be sick like this. Are you OK at work?

mommy-jess - I would be worried if I were you. They don't cover your pregnancy if you are already pregnancy when you've joined. How far along were you when you signed up? They told my sister the same, but she asked the consultant to give it to her in writing that she would be covered and when baby was born they didn't want to pay, until she faxed them the letter. Good luck. Which medical aid did you join?

Jess - call back and listen to their reasoning why you cant claim for the visit now you are pregnant.

explain that you told the sales lady you are very early (4 weeks) and she said that since you have literally just found out, you will be covered

hey all, so sad to hear about the misscarrige, I dreamt the other night I had one and was really upset when I woke up, I can only imagine how Sexihexi must feel like. :( :( :( I know I would be broken if it had to happen to me.

I am a bit worried about my medical aid, when I signed up, the consultant knew that I was already pregnant and she told me that cause I was still early in my first trimester they will cover me, so I took the medical cover., but now I'm starting to think that she only told me to sign up so that she could get her "cut" out of getting me to sign up, because I called the medical aid to find out if I could put the next Gynea appointment through the medical aid and they said I could but if I'm pregnant I cannot, I was a little shocked and just put the phone down.

Now i'm just worried that they will not cover anything, and I'm mostly worried about the Birth, and all the other costs that go with pregnancy.

do I have a leg to stand on if the medical aid does not want to cover the baby?
