Lucy, for bottles, people can give you advice but ultimately its up to baby to decide what they like!!

as for the cotton balls and ear buds. the cotton balls soaked in warm water help remove the poo as the first few poo's are very sticky and look like tar! Also, newborns are very sensitive and some will react to wetwipes.
ear buds are great for cleaning the cord especially when it dries a lot, you really need to dig into the belly button to clean it well. sounds gross - and it is - but only for 7 days before it falls off. (more or less 7 days)

Hayley, it's true that you can never be certain with a pregnancy. I also find though that you cant live in fear or you wont enjoy the pregnancy. I had to deliver a baby where the mommy was 39 weeks 5 days and the baby had passed away inside. the cord was around the neck tightly twice. it really was very sad. we just have to pray our pregnancies and babies are fine. these things that happen are rare, so we need to try not to stress.
as for sexy hexy, they should be able to identify what the problem was with the babies. (or herself). I hope they do give her an answer though as I think it helps the healing process. Just wish this didnt happen.

oh yes, got my downs results back. she said all is within normal ranges. she called just 1 day after having the test done so that was nice that we didnt wait long.

@ mommy-jess when you told the lady tha tyou were pregnant and she said no problem did you ask her if the pregnancy will be covered? What she may have ment (in her sneaky way) was that yes you can be accepted while pregnant, but the pregnancy will not be covered. MOst medical aids have a 3 to 12 month waiting after joining before they will cover. I presume it is to prevent people only joining a medical aid whenthey find out they are pregnant. When you call back kick up a fuss! I think most of the time phone calls are recorded so they might have the it for you to refer back too!

Good luck :)

@ Hayley - you are so right! It is a thought which often pops into my head...felt better when got to 8 weeks, thought well half way through the "danger zone" but anything can happen any time!

I do believe though that everything happens for a reason and if anything had to happen would try find peace in that fact I guess, but I am sure its no easy task!

I think it is so sad to hear about SexyHexy, and she was looking so forward to having the twins... :(

But there is a reason for this and unfortunatly we wont know the reason as to why it happens...

After losing Liam at 20 weeks and 4 days a yr ago, i still dont know the reason for it, but some day i will... And im not trying to scare you ladies but anything can happen during anytime of the pregnancy...

So please look after yourselves and your babies..

Meags - That is so sad about SexyHexy, I wonder if they know what happened. It is true that you think once you are past 12 weeks all is hunky dorey! Gosh, shame man.

Tazzy - You have made me nervous about that m poo! I thought they did it in hospital ..... why do you need ear buds and cotton balls? Eek!

Joli - I think that that you have handled it very well so far. You put the question to her and she indicated that she wasn't ready. Just keep taking your cues from her, she'll let you know when she is ready! Good luck

Grrr I can't scroll anymore and am sure there was more to say ......!?

Kimika - Congrats on the downs results

I am also a little worried to buy things, it is not stopping me looking though! I also have that voucher, I was thinking of buying a starter kit of bottles and can always use it as a gift if something does happen! Speaking of which for the ladies who already have LO's what brand do you use? Is one better? Can you use different brands or do you need to stick to one?

@ Meags did not win any thing. NOt upset though...th eamounts were perthetic, like R100, then R200, then anouther R100. My plan was to bank after the fourth one or if got to R1500 before the fourth one! The vault shut after 3 and the total was not even R400 so won nothing, but lost nothing!

OOOH its now 2 and half hours to go. GOing for a shower now and then try have a little something to eat.

@ Joli - I am lucky as I am on th eroad a lot adn working flexi time. So i have been going into the office in morning, then home for a bit of TLC if neededthen out again. It has been tough though! But must soldier on! :silly:
