Happy Birthday Meemo!!

So I went to work yesterday to go collect biscuits I'd ordered from a girl I work with and I found my high school friend working in the gynae ward!! (training doctor). So she did a scan for me quickly which was really nice. Baby has arms and legs!!!! I was so chuffed to not just see a blob
The screen was angled at her so she had a good view and she said she saw baby stretching and moving!!!

So excited for my next proper scan in 2 weeks now!!

Meemo I also googled everything about statistics in pregnancy and each week I checked how much of a percent there was for me to lose the pregnancy.

I even only wear white panties so I can see clearly if there is ANY spotting or anything...
So I am truely obsessed.

But week 8 and 9 have gone by so quickly and I am so happy I'll be 10 weeks on Sunday. Apparently seeing a heart beat at 8 weeks is a strong sign for a good pregnancy and I did see one so I am trying to tell myself the worry is over.
So my major hurdle is done. Will be even happier by 12 weeks and ecstatic to be starting 2nd trimester at 14 weeks

Ok ladies, I was brave and did the deed!!!!!
But I have a question. I know later on in pregnancy sperm can soften the cervix and help make it 'ripe' for labour. so should we use condoms when we have sex so this doesnt happen??
We did use one just in case...you know me...mrs paranoid!!

Ok, I caught up, but there is just too much to reply on. So I can't do personals.

Glad everyone is mostly well. sorry Meags. I remember about 4 - 6 months after we got married things were a bit hard. It got right again after.

I am feeling a bit down. They send e the 7 weeks e mail today and said that 2 out of 5 pregnancies will end in mc here. Gynae and dh, and mom don't want me reading up on pregancies anymore.

We are in Jeffreys bay atm. Sitting looking out on the Marina now, which is maybe 20 meter from me now. Very nice to visit with our friends here.

Dh is sleeping while holding my leg right now, so I am balancing laptop on one leg, a bit unconfortable so I can't type too long now.

The friend we visiting here owns a Pharmacy, and he managed to get me lots of preggie pops!!!! I dont know how he managed it, cause I looked everywhere in PTA.

they say the company who makes preggie pops is out of supplies to make them. So i am very lucky our friend managed to get hold of a few boxes, they arrived this morning.

it is also nice visiting him, cause being a small town pharmacists he is very clued up on everthing, even pregnancy. So I haave been bombarding him with questions

Kimika, we lived together 2 years before getting married so all that adjustment and decline in sex life happened before the marriage!!!
Sad I know...

not much to report....think I have started showing. I know that seems impossible since I am not even 10 weeks. But I really seem to have a baby bump!! Taking my next photo at 12 weeks and will then compare the difference (if any) since the 8 week photo.

going to pinkies fest tomorrow (yay...) not really excited...free alcohol all day. guess it's going to be a LONG DAY for me and a fabulous day for everyone else.

I am really tired. Think i need to nap desperately now.

Kimika - Thanks for all the info on downs and anomaly scans. I wasn't sure what the anomaly one was all about. I believe discovery only registers you as a PMB after 12 weeks. (well i guess that is you!!)

Emsmom - Cool. Must be honest i am clueless about anything seafood related! How is Em today? Have you had any news from Girly?

Mistymom - good luck for getting the job.

Shols - I am in the same boat. I also want to attend the expo and my friend who is very pregnant is going so murphy's law we'll bump into them. But it is an opportunity not to be missed. Thinking of phoning her and saying (she knows I am TTC not preggy) interested to go but scared of jinxing things and hopefully she'll say don't be silly and I'll say oh OK !!!! hahaha what gives you the idea I've been thinking about it.

LeRoux was it you that had the scan today? How did it go??

Cath - Hello wise lady, so glad (and jealous) that you are in the honeymoon phase! Now since I started with MS 4 days before AF was due I hope I get to enter it a little earlier.

Kimika - My dreams have been about our pet rabbit being gutted and me having an accident on a scooter (huh??) and that type of stuff

Meags - For us it was my DH "changed" because it latter came out that he now felt he had to be a man and be responsible etc etc. But at the time I felt I was married to a stranger and freaked out and we fought all the time, which we had never done before. It took a long time to figure it out between us and a lot of hard work. That is the thing- a relationship is hard work to reap the rewards. Now 10 years later we have the occasional spat but for the most part we are on the same page and he is my biggest fan and supporter and it is great! Good luck finding your middle ground.

Yup, we were together on the March group . Wasn't a very "busy" group, though... This one looks much busier, thank goodness.

He he, I still can't believe I'm on a Mommy to be group. I thought when the time is right I'll become part of the TTC group. Now I don't even want to show my face there, because those ladies do everything according to the book (I told DH about not using KY jelly, lying with a pillow under the hip, timing, taking temps, fertility meds etc etc). and struggle to get pregnant. Here, me and hubby dit all the "wrong" stuff and look at me... So yes, I kind of feel guilty towards them. And I was worried that I might not get pregnant again due to my age (thought I was pre-menopausal...) and then the oopsie happened.
