Good Morning Preggy Fairies ! I'm soooo glad it's Friday. The girls are going to MIL tomorrow so I think I'm going to take hubby out on Saturday night and make up for some lost time . Got 3 shoots on Sunday so can't go to bed too late!

Kaylae - don't use your medical aid for unnecessary scans. I know it's not easy! I only went for my first scans with all my pregnancies between 9 - 12 weeks.

Kimika - when did you do the Downs blood test?? I thought they are only checking at around 20 weeks. I definately want to test as early as possible. Or will they pick it up at 12 week scan?? Pls let me know.

leroux - how did your scan go??? Pls share.

Mistymom - I'm so holding thumbs for you for that job. Hubby also bought us a new car when we found out re this pregnancy, but I think it was just an excuse to go car shopping LOL

Meags - hope you get to deliver lots of babies today . Jeez his company can't send him away when you are about to give birth! Do they know that you are preggars? He will have to talk to them about it. Best of luck!

AFM - I'm feeling much better today. Even got to go to gym yesterday. Going to try and go again today. And I haven't picked up any weight as yet! YAY!!! Going for my scan tomorrow morning and meeting Marilyn or Veronica - the midwives - hope they are nice and that I won't be battling too much with my English! Both my previous midwives were Afrikaans! Hubby and the kids are also English but it's harder to explain yourself in another language when it comes to medical terms!

no long post as I must be getting ready to go. I am going to volunteer at Germiston Hospital today just for a few hours. Hope it's safe!!

Talking to DH is like talking to a wall sometimes!!
And we seem to have a bit of a problem...
The company says they'll transfer us by March next year. And I have heard that they do not allow you to go there if you are near due date as they see it as you just giving birth there to get a green card for the baby. So I don't think I will even be able to go until after baby is born.

So now the problem is, DH HAS to go...when does he come back???? He wont be allowed more than 2 weeks leave...and labour can happen anywhere from 37-42 weeks! It's important to both of us that he is at the birth. So confusing....

oh apparently people are struggling to get the registration sms from baby boom so they are using baby city instead for the free birth announcements

Sorry been MIA again yesterday. Had a job interview in the morning adn they called me back in tehafternoon as had been short listed and needed to do a personality check! SO excited as it is the best interview I have been for so far, with the best salary. I should be hearing to day so keep fingers crossed!

Gosh seems like some of you are having a rough time with life/DH/MS. All i can say is that thing sdo get better and I firmly believe that everything happens fro a reason. Last month I lost my cellphone, the washing machine broke so we had to buy a new one, I got retrenched (crappy one as i had a company car). and then a week later find out I am preggies! But i am looking at the job in a positive way! I was bored stiff in my previous job and so it ment I was forced to look fro something else, which hopefully means a better salary. It has been an exhausting last 2 weeks goinbg fo rinterview after interview but I hope I have to go for no more!

Have been up since 3.30am. Just cant sleep. Think MS has finally hit me as well (dead on time with today been 6 weeks). Not to bad, but noticable!

At least it is Friday and I am looking froward to the weekend. I am going shopping today for some new work clothes (really need to find stuff that can hopefully hide the pregancy and then can be "all surprised" when i find out in about 3 months at work). hope i get away withit!

DH and I are also going car shopping on the weekend (if I get the job). So exciting to be looking for a mommy car! DH was doing a lot of research on cars can came hom ewith a short list last night. He wants something safe for his family! He has been really sweet and loving the last week. Last night I was asleep by 8pm in fromt of TV, just pure exhuastion. He put a blanket over me and then woke me up when he went through to bed. I am not used to going to sleep so early which explains why I was probably up at 3.30pm.

I am craving a Wimpy breakfast (hashbrowns !!!) So After I have dropped DH at work this morning will go sort out that craving, ten a little retail therapy and popping into the bank to see how we going to buy a car. So happy no interviews today...now just waiting fo ra phonecall to say I have a job.

Fawhaway, thanks for popping in! Im happy to hear your sounding happy and relaxed. I think just try stay there and dont go back to Pmaritzburg! Good luck on the job hunting! Remember to check in the local paper, there are always some nice jobbies for ladies.

Lucy, my first consult was R800 and the bloods along with that was also about R800. eina..
Then from there on all consults are R500 and that is for the consult, scan and urine dipstick.
Im still waiting for the bill for the downs hormone blood test.. but expecting something in the line of R900. *sigh*
So for now there is one visit per month but then from about 34wks it goes to every 2wks and then from about 37/38wks every week. And if you go to a fetal assesement centre you will have to pay another aprox R800 for your 20/22wk anomoly (sp) scan.
My savings also depleted last month already I still need to register for the PMB with Discovery but for now I have to wait until we have downscaled.

As for the constipation, it comes and goes.. and the dreams = yip They say the most common one to have is one of having sex with your ex-boyfriend! THANK GOODNESS I havent had that one yet!!! eish...

Went to Babycity today to go buy wipes and bumcream for my little guy. Got a nice guide there with all their products. So I thought to mention it to those of you who are making lists of what you want. Almost everything is in there and then you can mark it with a highligter or something hehe..

All gyanes differ regarding sushi, some say yes, others no. I think the rule of thumb is go t a reputable place, and maybe avoid the raw fish. Only the tuna and salmon are raw. The crab and prawn are cooked. My previous gyane said it was fine, can also have an occasional drink if I want. All in moderation.

I had bad constipation till today, I stocked up on prunes and digestive biscuits, has really helped. Good luck!

Fawhaway - I am glad you are feeling happier and have gotten into Groote Schuur. A big weight off I am sure.

EmsMom - My gynae said no sushi !! Is it safe? I haven't really worried about it as I hate seafood, just thought I would mention it! I hope Em is all better tomorrow, i am glad you finally got a little sleep. Yippeee you got a whirlpool ....... green with envy!

Meags - Hugs! I always say I don't want to get divorced because I never want to go through the 1st year of marriage again. Just keep communicating and work on finding compromises that you both agree to and are happy with. Good luck hun.

Have any of the ladies that have had gynae visits been given the breakdown of visits and costs ....... SCARY!!! My medical savings are finished after my teeth!! Grrrrr.

AFM - Had less MS today Yippeeeee!! Although feeling icky again now, I almost don't mind after having that break today. But also super tired all the time.
