fawhaway sorry to hear about your troubles, I think its good that you are not currently with your husband. Also glad that you can give birth at Groote Schuur.

Meags, perhaps use his current mood to convince him to go for some counseling with you?? Its important for when the baby arrives. I know a lot of men do turn around and become delightful once the child is born.

Thankfully we found out today that our current medical aid plan covers my gyane visits and the hospital I want. I just need my gp to refer us to my gyane and then they cover it. We were goingto move to another plan which is much more expensive. So yay!

Thankfully Em is MUCh better today, should be ok to go to school tomorrow, but I'll keep her home till Monday just to be safe.

Sorry to hear your drama Fawhaway :( Hope things will get easier for you and glad you sorted out your hospital!!

I do not think DH is bad to me. He has never lifted a hand to me or shouted or kicked me out or anything. I just think the problem is that he is selfish and self absorbed and needs to start realising the world does not revolve around him. I also strongly believe we need therapy to try help resolve things because we have tried to get things working on our own and for me - it doesnt seem to be working.

he of course came home with a huge bouquet of flowers and came home very early and says we going to spend the weekend together and he's taking me out for dinner tonight.
all very nice...but know it's only temporary...As usual...

HI Girls.

Sorry I have been MIA. I have been trying for ages to get on here, but haven’t been able to or I have run out of air time. I am on my dad’s computer this time as he is not here. Ha ha ha.

I have read some of the messages on here. Meags I am sorry that you are having troubles with your husband. I got married and a few months later I also got pregnant and I had such a bad time. He threw me out twice and hit me once and cheated on me. Sh@t I don’t know why I put up with so much. I wanted to divorce him too, but like a fool stayed around hoping things would get better, they got better, then worse, then better, then worse, like a rollercoaster. I had no support from him when I was pregnant and finally when baby came he treated me well for a while, but we all know where that has lead. I am still here in Cape Town at least and much happier and glad I am pregnant down here and not in Pietermaritzberg.

Joli thanks for suggesting that I put up a general ad asking for help with regards to the hospital. My mom called a friend of hers who had a fit and started yelling at us…. Ha ha ha, but she was FURIOUS with Mowbray Maternity. Anyway she told us to call another of her friends… to make a long story short I have now got myself into Groote Schuur Hospital and very happy. I haven’t made an appointment yet though as I am scared of the reality. I have been job hunting and haven’t had any success yet, but will keep on trying.

I spoke to my husband last night and he is going to send me his cv so that I can take it to a few hospitals as his friend who promised him the money for the coldrink factory has let him down… but I was expecting that so thank heavens I didn’t go back to him. My ticket is still booked for the 6th of September if I change my mind, but I doubt he will have the petrol or a car to fetch me from the airport, so what is the use of going to Durban Airport and being stuck. I will have to live in the airport til he gets money to come fetch me. LMAO!!!! At least I still have my humour. I miss him, but things are better this way and he is happy for me to stay here.

I am enjoying my pregnancy but suffering from nausea and some cravings, but my mom and dad have been wonderful and have accommodated me where they can. Sadly things are bad for them financially too and they have to sell their house, so its going on the market in the next month or so and they are going to be forced to rent a flat. I will miss this house as I have been through so much here in it. From 13 birthday parties, to sweet 16’s and 21’s and um lets forget the rest of them!!!

Sorry about the long pist… er post and I hope to be back soon. I have no more money or air time, but will keep trying to get on now and then to say hi and I am alive and read your posts.

Hugs from me and my son and my little bean

1st son born 8 april 2009. 2nd son born 10 march 2011. Live in cape town. I got divorced on the 30th of june 2011. Remarried and now happily trying for number 3. www.doulaservices.co.za

hey ladies

Leroux, so exciting that you are going for your scan tomorrow!!
Kimika thanks for the recipe! Looks great!

I also get inchiness when PG, I think its the skin stretching and losening to make place for the baby. Hormones change so its understandable.

My dad is all into giving my house a make-over now, wants to buy us a new lounge suit, plants for the garden and paint the house.
I feel bad about them spending so much money on us esp since they just bought us a brand new washing machine (whirlpool) but it makes him happy, so...

was so tempted today to buy one thing I will need once baby arrives, but have promised myself I won't do that till the scan.

Dad took Em and I out for a ride to the flowers today, and then bought me a new vase and flowers and like 6 bags of wood for our fireplace. Then we found this lovely new asian/sushi place at our shopping center, which is scary cheap and so good! I'm really happy we found it - so I had some sushi again and a praw and avo salad :)

how you all doing?
