Hello Ladies. Gonna try catch up a bit while I am supposed to work he he.

Tazzy - I also thought that you do not get your AF when your BF, well I just had mine (or still does!), for over a week now and it's quite bad actually. The only good thing about it is that my tummy is not so swollen anymore. Since I had the c-section my tummy was very swollen, now it's just fat . And I only BF - no formula at all so yip, you can get your AF Nope nothing wrong with wanting a breastpump he he. I bought an Avent manual but then when C was born I had to express and that pump did nothing so we bought a 2nd hand medela from Gumtree - it's old but it's working and that's all that matters. I am still using it.

I must say I am very impressed with myself. Callum is nearly 5 months and he is still only being BF . Dorcas (my domestic worker) is very confused by this - she keeps asking when I will start giving him water and food. But he really is not ready yet. He is still very baby.

Meags - seems your trouble never ends . You know, my DH used to help me with Megan (and they are soooooooo close now), but a while ago he told me that he never really felt anything for her. She was just there and was a baby and was cute and that was it, only when she cut her hand just before her 1st b/day and he rushed home, he realized that he is actually besotted with her. A lot of men can't relate to a baby, so I do hope that your DH will change, but on the other hand he also seems very immature . He does not really help with Callum either. He leaves the house before 7 and only gets home after 7. He has never bathed or dressed Callum. Re the feeding - Kayla was small and she never finished a big bottle (and she had a bottle up to 17 months). Hope things get sorted for you. I am not sure I would be able to cope with so many things going wrong.

MistyMom - Shame man! But glad all is going well with your munckin. I use J&J babywash on Callum. I must say I do enjoy my Four Cousins again - I sometimes even drinkk 2 glasses

Lucy - the insert does seem a bit long - but I just push it in. I don't undo the nappy. I've got 2 of those nappies and love them. The Bamboo nappy is a bit too bulky. I think the Cherub Tree nappies are lovely.

Shame MissesMom - you are always on the go and do need to rest as well.

Betty - I co sleep - since Callum was a tiny baby. And now it's too cold for his cot anyways . He sleeps in my arms every night. I can't remember when last he slept in his cot. And Megan will come to our bed most nights as well. So in the morning we are 4 in the bed he he. When I turn during the night, I turn Callum with me so he is always in front on me as I am scared that DH might hurt him.

Kimika - thx for the visit - was lovely to see you and your boys. Pietertjie is just too cute and Reuben so big and calm . Jeepers re the spider!

Well girls Callum is now just refusing to take his bottle. How come all of a sudden??? It's frustrating cause when I work or have to go out, I leave a bottle with ebm but then he will only take like 2 sips and then cry and go sleep and will wait for me to get back. Poor munchin - I am gonna buy him one of those t-shirts that say - I love Boobies! I wonder if I must try another bottle now??

I have to tell you this. C will sometimes cry hysterical - it never last long - anything from a couple of second to about 10 min - and I am not sure what it is all about. He will be cooing and smiling and then just SCREAMS! So DH said that maybe his penis is stuck or uncomfortable etc etc. I though it was very funny, but then DH said NO REALLY! Why do you think men have to rearrange their members? So now each time C screams I always think that maybe something is stuck and then I take his nappy off and put it back on - just to make sure!

Went shopping for more winter clothes for the kids today - and was quite clever. I also have to cut the bows of Megan's vest (she won't wear clothes with bows or buttons ) so today I bought her boys' vest so when it is too small I can keep it for Callum - clever hey!

Oh well let me get some more work done.

Hey Girls

BettyF he does like the dummy but he doesnt suck properly...its actually annoying!! Even when he drinks he doesnt suck. He actually more gums and bits the teats so the dummy falls out all the time so you have to hold it in. In the swing I put a spoegdoek around his neck to hold the dummy in!!!
I co-slept with M for a few weeks. I lay with him in the crook of my arm and I didnt move....otherwise I would turn with him against me. But I was very aware of him and I dont think I slept deeply at all those weeks!!

Kimika I actually didnt intend to try the milk. I am trying to get him to drink from a different bottle and there was cereal in the milk so I wanted to check it would come through the teat!!!! It didnt smell sour but it had a funny smell...and tasty kind of soapy or something?! I dunno...it wasnt right but he drank it?! poor child...

Kimika that is FREAKY about the spider!!!!!!!!!!! I would have died. I have a total phobia about spiders I just cry when they come near me!!!

So....DH went for drinks last night after work (I did know about it so it was fine...) He told me he'd by home around 8:30. At 8:30 he smsed to say he's staying later but will definitely be home by 10. Well at 10:20 I smsed him saying seems he is having a good night out. he replied saying he's running late (OH REALLY?!) and leaving now...
Anyway when he got home he didnt even bother coming upstairs to greet me. So I just fell asleep. At 12:15 Matt was crying (due to feed) and DH ignores this...I am sure he could hear him...
Then at 3am Matt was moaning in his sleep so I woke. Went downstairs to see what DH was doing. He had passed out and fell off the couch. (will post photo). So I took photos as evidence, switched off the lights and left him there. I was so mad!!!! I couldnt sleep as Matt kept moaning for another hour then woke for a feed and then decided to stay up until after 5. Then only slept 1 hour before waking again...then up for another hour. slept for 1 hour. Man I am tired!!!!!!!
Anyway he woke around 9:45 and came and took Matt. so I had a shower as we needed to get ready to take the cats to the vet for injections. he asked if I was pissed off...I said it would be strange if I wasnt. He apologised. Then of course a few hours went by where he pretended nothing was wrong! so I asked when he wants to discuss last night. He then explained the nights happenings, apologised. I said he doesnt have to be a dad if he isnt ready. He said he is, wants to help out etc etc. lets see how long that lasts......

Betty, I co-sleep sometimes.. I actually prefer him to sleep in his cot. Actually his older bro sleeps with us every night otherwise he wakes up too much.. and there is not much space for another baba too He slept with me when I was sith my sister and since then his sleep has been a bit worse.. he wakes up more.. I think its because he got used to being right next to me. Before that he slept great! Also I used that co-sleeper right in the beginning but he is too big for it now. I put him in his wedge when he sleeps with me. And I put him in bed with me every morning when he wakes up at about 5, by then hubby is up and about so more space

Girls, we had such a scary thing today.. was grocery shopping with my mom. R was in his pram with a receiver over him. A lady came up to him and grabbed his blanket off of the pram.. there was a HUGE spider on it!!!!!!! She immediately said sorry but she knows for a fact its a poisonous one. It was a huge big black one.. never saw one like that before. Came home and googled it and it was a knopiespinnekop.. not sure but I think english its a widow spider? Thank goodness the lady saw the thing.. dont even want to think where it came from and if it was inside the pram aaahhhhhhh and I hate spiders soooo much!!

Hey wow it's 7.10 and everyone in the house is still sleeping, except for me

Are there any of you co sleeping with your LO's? I could not sleep yesterday because I kept worrying that I may roll over onto Sarah in my sleep. Strange, I have slept fine for the rest of the 4 weeks. I don't think there would be any point in getting one of those co sleeper things as she only sleeps if her face is intrenched in my body

Yes Meags, the old saying of never wake a sleeping baby is true. If I need baby to wake up, I open curtains, doors, make noise and take blankie off baby to encourage her to wake naturally.
But nonetheless you got M to drink. You are lucky that M takes the dummy, I have not been so lucky with S who has me as the dummy urg...

I actually really need to start doing that or we are going to suffer big time without the swing overseas.
It's not that he wont sleep in the cot...but he'll sleep about 40 minutes instead of 2 and a half hours!! big difference!!

So I just had 90 minutes of what seemed like colic crying my goodness!!!! He was sleeping and since it was getting late (5:30pm) I decided to wake him so that he's awake for 90 minutes then he goes to bed for the night. well wrong decision!!!! from the moment I woke him until 7pm he screamed.
He also hadnt done a poo today so I had to help with that....he was totally hysterical. turns out his poo was actually soft so I wont be needing to help him out anymore. He screamed the whole way through the bath which he usually loves and then obviously the feed was horrendous. Although I managed to get him to drink around 90ml (well maybe 20ml of it was all over his 'spoegdoek' but anyway)
I didnt pat him or rock him to slept. Just lay him on my lap. It took him about 20 minutes to sleep but he did just lie there quietly sucking the dummy.

now I'm sitting in silence and its bliss wonder how long he'll sleep. he had EBM. It actually smelt and tasted a bit yucky - wonder if it was ok?! I smelt the other ones in the fridge and they smell fine...

My cats have brought in 5 gecko's today. I am SOOOO annoyed. really enough is enough. I changed their food as someone mentioned they may be lacking something in their diet. well they hate this new food. they hardly even eat it. and I forget to buy more today
they are off to the vet tomorrow for their vaccinations. luckily DH is off from work. imagine me having matt in the sling and a cat carrier in either hand!!! so wouldnt work...The cats weigh more than 6kg each!!!!
