Joli - wow thats cheeky of your nanny! maybe write everything down for her so that there can be no misunderstanding - I hate talking to my domestic worker if I need to moan so hope my suggestion works for you. Rowan also is like Callum and feeds every 3 or 4 hours.

Lucy - I need to email you How is Tessa? I use Nan 1 and Rowan is fine on it. If Tessa gets constipated introducing the formula feed ask Vix about the stuff she told me about - she is a wealth of information and so honest!

I have had to stop breastfeeding, but the doctor and pharmacist said the first 6 weeks is the most important so think its ok

Hi all.

Argh I am so annoyed with my domestic worker / nanny! Now that I work from home, she assumes that she can do less and less. The house is in a mess and she comes later and later in the mornings and leaves earlier each day!! I am so behind with my work as I don't get time to edit! Callum refuse to be in the kango pouch and when he is awake he wants to talk and be with me or feed, so I only get time to work when he sleeps. I have to physically take him to her and tell her that I now need to work can she please watch him for a while . And then when I look for her again, she would have left. And I do not know how to talk to her about it. I've explained to her that I need to work - it's not like I am just a stay at home mom.

Anyways, otherwise we are all well. Callum is a bit demanding, so I don't get time to spend with Megan really. I think Callum must go for his jabs now again - or I've missed it! Must check. He also did not poo for about 2 weeks now - sjoe I can't remember - might be more! What's one to do??

Also feel like I am forever feeding. And Cath is W still sleeping through? Callum still drinks 3 - 4 hourly during the night.

Anyways gotta go - Callum is sleeping on the couch so have to check up on him. Won't hear him cry from the study and can't move him - if you move him, he is awake. Enjoy your eve ladies.

Hi all

Apologies for being so quiet again - I get around to reading posts, but not to posting.

Arno has been on a feeding frenzy for the last few days! It got so bad that my nipples were VERY sore and I eventually had to use my nipple shields! And in spite of all that we still had to give him formula after BFing too as he just doesn't seem to get enough. I weighed him on Saturday and he was 5.1 kgs - i.e. he gained a whole kg in 2 weeks!! He is 8 weeks today and finally starting to fit in the 0 to 3 month clothing and I think we will be onto number 2 nappies soon.

Other than that I don't have much to report. Precious, our nanny, really is wonderful with him and I feel confident that she'll look after him well when I have to return to work at the end of this month.

Well Betty same thing happened yesterday same time 5-ish W screamed and cried poor angel also for about 10 mins. I think he is DEFINITELY teething. He is jamming EVERYTHING he can find into his mouth, his little gums are red, he is flushed etc etc! I put on some teejel and gave him some calpol and he settled immediately. He is also still sleeping through - last night from 10-ish til 6h15. and he wakes up happy! We put him between us on the electric blanket- on quite low - and he was in heaven kept looking at each of us and BEAMING!!! Gosh we love this child he is sooo sweet!
Lucy, I've been using NAN HA since the start and I have to say I think it's the best. They do say it's the closest you are going to get to breastmilk so I'd say you are on the right track! What we do now is have the bottles ready (only the water) in the fridge and when he's ready to feed we top up the bottle with about 50 ml boiling water (make sure you test the end result!!! ) and he LOVES it warm! Remember with NAN you are not supposed to pre make the bottles (although many people do) after my experience I just stick with the rules so only make the bottle just before (i.e. add the formula) you feed. Don't keep it in the fridge or pre make it unless absolutely necessary but rather don't. Also what I learned is once the baby has fed from the bottle and it's the end of the feed throw out that milk! Apparently a breeding ground for bacteria after babys mouth has been in contact with it. As I learned!

Morning ladies

Lucy, I think as long as T is growing nicely and has enough wet/dirty nappies then dont worry about how much she is feeding. You cant force her to feed more than she wants to.

Are you not wanting to express for her day time feeds instead of formula? I never had Em on formula, so cant offer any advice there, sorry.

Betty I think its different to take a bottle than a dummy, cause at least something yummy is coming out of her bottle

Well Kate decided to wake up last night and it took me forever to get back to sleep! Eventually fell asleep at 9. Thankfully only woke up once.
The girls are back to normal thankfully, and I seem to have some more energy as well

Sarah was much better yesterday, and even slept more. Perhaps she was trying to catch up from yesterday. We even did a trip to the shop and to my mom. And porridge brain mom left the stove on. Lucky I remembered and phoned the domestic to turn off. Anyhow by the time I got home, supper was ready

Cath- how was W yesterday, it really is awful when they scream, especially as one does not know what is wrong... Did he sleep through again? Wonderful that he is such an angel.

Missesmom- how are your little girls doing? The shots must have taken it out of Kate. Hope she is more playful today. I am not really looking forward to doing all those injections etc.

Lucy - I also feel like I am feeding continuously. I am feeding every 2 to 3 hours on demand, but S is only 1 month. The midwife said I should be giving 80 mls every 3 hours. But I just BF when she routes.
Hope the bottle feeding goes well. I am worried S won't take to a bottle, as she refuses the dummy.
Yesterday I bought some tommee tippee bottles. I was thinking that if I need to go out for an hour or so I can leave S with my Mom with a bottle. I bought Novolac formula, that is what I used with M. But I think I will try and wait as long as possible before I introduce it.
How did your assessment go? How long does it normally take for the tummy muscles to rejoin?
I stood on a scale yesterday for the first time since Sarah was born. I am still 5 kg more than before I was pregnant. But My ideal would probably be to loose 10kg. I am not on a diet so not expecting any miracles
