Something is def bothering R.. he woke up at 3 this morning.. didnt want to feed and then also didnt wan to sleep. Took me an hour to get him to sleep. And Im sooo not used to do that! And this morning he woke up crying.. and I could barely get him settled. He never cries so I know something is up

Meags, I can't believe your hospital bill, does your medical aid cover it? I must still tally ours...but it think it was about R30 000 all covered by medical aid, except some of the anesthetists costs.

Faw - those injections are expensive hey? Even if you go the government route you end up paying, unless you go and wait all day for the jabs at a government institution.

Kimika- love your post on the fathers day baking, wish I had more time, I would love to do something like that. My icing skills are not very good though..

Joli- hope you get the room warm. When I did Sarah's shoot, every time I took her blanket off she would wake up. I had my gas heater on and I think it was a bit too close to S as her bum went slightly red. I was so worried that I had burnt her bum, but the red went away after a few hours.

Did I mention that we have started building, yesterday it was rather noisy, but it never bothered S much, not too excited about when they break through the wall, hope it is not too dusty fir Sarah.

Kimika- my tummy muscles are less than a finger separated which is good apparently and will close very quickly. Main exercise is the one lying on your back and raising bum in air. Sit ups before it has closed will make it worse!
Thanks so much for the info on drooling. T has been doing this for more than a month, I actually asked the paed and if brushed me off. I would say the last week she has been sucking her hands like mad so also good to know.....i have been trying to put the dummy in. So good to know not to interfere! I actually attended a talk yesterday on not using bonjela or teejel. There is a natural product that doesn't numb or take away the sensation but rather softens the gum tissue to make the tooth come out easier. I'll check and post the name next time. Yippee for big break with jabs. T had side effects only on first night. Yippee!

Hi all. Sjoe it's cold in JHB! Got a newborn shoot tomorrow - really hope I can get the studio warm enough. I am using a gas heater as it's all that can warm the studio up and then 2 oil heaters as well as a bar heater!

Gosh I forgot about Callum's jabs - he was supposed to have gone for his 3rd one on 1 June - so now he is going on Monday - shame poor chap. At least this will be the last one for a while - just as well cause I can't afford it anymore!

Well I spoke to my domestic worker and she seemed a bit upset but she also cleaned very nicely today . Hate doing this.

Meags some babies start teething very early - but it can take a while for the tooth to pop out. Shame hope you get Matt sorted with feeding. But ya re the hands - true what Kimika says - they will put everything into their mouths until they are much older.

Somewhere is phycology there's also something about a child's hands - re how sensitive they are and that one should never hit their hands (like some parents do when baby touch something they should not). Can't remember all the detail.

Kimika - going to wait another day or two and if still nothing, will get something for Callum. Do I just get it at the chemist? What do I ask for? He does not seem uncomfy at all - no trying to push or anything. The paeditritian said even 3 weeks is normal - I made an appointment for later in June for a check up for him anyways.

Rakker - let me know when you can collect - the pics are so gorgeous. Will also look out for someone going that side and maybe take it closer to you.

Kimika I get what you are saying that maybe he's had enough. But honestly you can see he wants more. once he stops crying he eagerly takes back the bottle and guzzles the remainder down (and infact sometimes wants more).
I think either the reflux is upsetting him or the milk...will see what the specialist says.

Thanks for the info about the fists!! I really thought it was a sign of hunger how interesting!! The drooling has been going on a month already especially bad when he wants to eat.
He has a white dot on his gum. not sure if it's a little blister or what?! He likes it when I rub it?!

dont really have much to report. Just so tired all the time...
After Matt got his soy bottle last night he slept from 7pm-2am (longest ever!!) and then from 2:45am-5:30am. So it was really not a bad night at all. He has drunk at least 100ml of every bottle so far but I'm not going to get excited yet as it always starts like this. Will assess the situation in 1 week.
