Cath - I send u a fb message.
Your nanny definately does have a sparkle in her eyes :)
Glad you feeling a bit better. I have only put Amelia on her playmat a handful of times. She has to be in a good happy mood to enjoy in. Although she can't reach or grab yet.
I firmly believe that a happy calm content mommy will rub off on her baby. That is why william is so peaceful! From the very first day he was born you have just been so positive and happy.

I wish I could say the same for myself but I find myself being rather grumpy and short tempered in the afternoons. And I often lie awake at night feeling so sorry for my toddler cos she gets worst of me everyday cos I can't take it out on anybody else. My poor monkey. But she also has been testing me a lot lately.

Emsmom thanks SO MUCH for your message oh thank goodness thank you SO MUCH for sharing about Kate!!! That makes me feel so much better! Ja the worrying is a totally new thing - horrid!!!!!!!!! And BY THE WAY can I just say a MASSIVE thank you to you not only for your post but also for the sureslim info - I joined recently and have lost 2 kilos in less than a week and feel full all the time! I am thrilled I think it's an eating plan that i can really stick to for the next 2 months or so til I start looking normal again! :)
I am also so THRILLED to hear that tummy time doesn't only have to be on mat he does really well on my chest and whenever his dad picks him up its too cute he stretches his head up like a periscope lol and looks around he LOVES being up so high!!! what a relief! mat tummy time really upset him and me it was horrible poor little thing! he is really the most adorable child. he is even 'talking' to us and often responds especially if we're encouraging him he'll go blah blah blah

Sometimes in the middle of the night (only a few times but it's hysterical!) he'll give this big SHOUT OUT then silence lol who knows WHAT is going on in their little brains!!!

Thanks Emsmom! Really appreciate it!!!

Thanks Tazzy! I just spent some time with W on the mat under his playgym and feel much better he even managed to grab hold of the one tortoise and hold on to it and LOVED the mirror he obviously didnt know it was him but he was delighted with what he saw!!! He is soooo adorable I think worry and fear is so pointless but I've been feeling it lately so thanks for the encouragement. I was also upset by my sister (jealous) asking my mom (within earshot of me) why William didn't cry more and didn't all babies (she has not got children is older than me) cry all the time was did he seem so chilled. So my mom said well he's happy and content he has no need to cry! And that he does cry when he has reason to (cramps, overtired are his triggers) So thanks! Re the bags, I bought a batch of lansinoh freezer milk bags from the states still unopened you are welcome to have them. Just pm me your postal address and you can deposit the postage (I'll send it recorded post?) and I can pop it into the post for you. I almost actually threw them away during my springcleaning so let me know if you'd like them otherwise it's into the garage with them til next time! :) Also ask your parents to check out walmart they have the most gorgeous stuff for baby, nursery etc and sooo cheap!

Meags - thanks for the tips. It makes sense. My parents are going over to chicago next month so I'll add some bags to my shopping list :)
I only saw one brand at baby city (medela) and they were R198 for 20 bags!!

Emsmom - where did u find such cheap bags? I actually remembered that I hadn't received my prize from ena breastpumps. I won some bags from them. So the lady will be posting them on monday. And from what I see on their fb page they sell 30 for R49

Cath - its so normal to worry. That's why mothers age prematurely :)
You are truly blessed to have such a wonderful baby boy.

Betty - enjoy the honeymoon phase while it lasts. I have been expressing twice a day. At 830am at the same time I feed Amelia. So she'll feed off one boob and I express off the other. Then again at 9pm. She only feeds for a short period at that feed and falls asleep again. So when she's done I express the rest.

Heya ladies
How is everyone doing?

Cath hon, its totally normal to worry, you wouldn't be a mom if you didnt, and I'm sorry to say it will never stop!
Kate also doesn't cry, literally she has cried like 5 times since we brought her home from hospital - and 2 of those times were during her shots. And she sleeps lots as well.
At baby gym they say the best tummy time is on your chest. So dont worry about that either, and lots of children dont like tummy time on the mat.

Betty so glad to see that all is going so well! Sorry about the glue high, I hope it stops soon.

Tazzy, I paid R50 for 30 freezer bags. To de-frost I sjust put them into hot water - not boiling.

Meags, how are things going love? So proud of you with the BFing!

Schatsie, sorry about the crying, hope it gets better soon.

So Kate is still a sweetie pie, dont know what I did to get so lucky. I feel so guilty hearing about all the moms that are having a hard time.
She had to go for another shot today (they didn't have all the stock on monday) and was such a star, hardly cried at all! Just a 5second wail.
Anyways, hope you are all doing well.
Hugs

Hi everyone
Just to give a quick update – gosh it’s wonderful being a mom I’m LOVING it and having a nanny is so brilliant just being able to go and do stuff when necessary and know that William is getting attention 100% of the time. I mentioned we were away for the weekend and William was BRILLIANT!! Everyone was so impressed one lady even came up to me on mothers day cause she had noticed him at dinner the night before (no children allowed but I asked nicely!) and he was in his pram at our table and of course we were all carrying on lots of noise and half the time he slept the other half of the time he smiled and looked at his mobile etc he is such a beautiful boy. I feel so happy almost all of the time – e.g. we were coming back from somewhere and I was carrying him up the stairs to bed (he is still in his cot in our room) and I felt soooo happy and responsible and wonderful that we had this little boy in our lives that we were caring for and that we’d get to be with the next day, etc etc He really does not cry! (sorry schatsie especially at this noisy time for you!) I mean he can go 2 days without crying. He moans a bit even at night (he now wakes up once at 3-ish am) so it’s wonderful not to have that and we are sleeping well – at least 6 hours for me as I try to be in bed by nine and then he’s up at 3am sometimes if I’m lucky it’s only 5! Oh I MUST tell you since we got him on a strict routine everything has come together and he has not once woken up before 3am…I know this isn’t helpful for those bf’nig cause apparently my paed says the 4 hour rule doesn’t work with bf’ing babies cause they need to feed more often cause what they’re drinking is so natural and good (sorry William! ) it digests far quicker than formula. So this is for formula fed – feeding him only every 4 hours has worked wonders! So that’s all the amazingly good stuff!

The not so good stuff is that I still find myself worrying – I try and pray about it and take it to God but wanted to share it here as well. I worry about so much stuff  like when I realized he hadn’t cried in 2 days I thought is that normal!? He did cry over the weekend a few times (stomach cramps, etc) so it’s not like he never cries!!!! But then I worry is it normal, should they cry on a daily basis! Also he seems so peaceful when he wakes up I sometimes find him just looking around quietly – then he sees me and gives the BIGGEST smile and kicks his legs and waves his arms and it’s sooo cute but then I worry again – is this normal? So that’s the tough part for me as a mother. I also still worry about SIDS I don’t jump up and check him but I’m always relieved to hear his little voice or breathing when I wake up at night or when going to sleep. So it’s a lot of worry I guess – is he normal. Oh, we tried tummy time for first time today I don’t know why not before, I guess I felt when he was on my chest with head over shoulder he was getting tons of exercise for his neck cause he lifts it up and looks around etc etc etc but be that as it may we did it today and the poor thing didn’t like it at all – he just turned his head to the side and moaned quietly. I just about died with sadness – and ALSO thought is this normal? My nanny said it’s his first time and in time he’ll push up and also lift hed shame I think he found it very traumatic as did i. so those are some of the small downsides. I’m usually sucha positive person but I can’t help worrying fretting about William. I am going to have him weighed today and will discuss with the clinic sister. I love that he sleeps at night and has his naps during the day 2-3 but then I worry about that too – is he sleeping too much!? He is 3 months no 21 May. I mean he is such a perfect little angel I feel bad for worrying but I’d love to hear others experience and input. Love cahtm
