My experience was just like yours emsmom

I wondered if we gave birth in the same hospital. I was in Constantiaberg mediclinic, Cape Town.

I struggled more with breastfeeding as well than the c-sec and was fully mobile under 24 hours. Nurses just washed once as well and the next time I had to wash, I walked straight to the shower. I had visitors about 4 hours after having K. K's great grandma was already waiting in the room as we were wheeled back in. I kept my robe on and did not have to receive meds where I had to take my robe off.

Hopefully will have a similar experirience the next time. I notice that different hospitals have different policies as well which does contribute to the experience on the whole.

I went into labour and insisted on showering at home first. Hectic labour I might add. Glad I at least got that part sorted.

Jealous is all I can say Emsmom. I was actually really calm throughout. I just kept thinking hmmm that's not good etc. Didn't stress at all, but then the aftermarth comes so a delayed reaction I guess. Typical of me.

I think for me I was just super calm about the entire thing, I walked to the shops a few hours before I went into labour, wouldn't actually admitt to DH I was in labour till I had finished my Desperate Housewives season - and then calmly showered, washed my hair and was a little upset that I would miss my pedi I had booked.

Dont get my wrong, I might have looked like hell, but I was very excited to have all our friends around.

I am a very calm person, I take things as they are and kinda go with the flow. one of my nicer qualities

EmsMom - Mmmmm, not sure you will be making any Xmas card lists with that story.

Everyone wishes for a blissfully easy birth, and an easy baby and all the fairy happiness one can get - but secretly we all despise women who have them as we sat having our sanitary towel change every 15 minutes, our suzie Q being manhandled, the fact that we looked like Gollum's bride ... but I am glad you got to be pretty and presentable in under 15 minutes ....

The more stories I read the more I feel my birth was from a movie... I had to problems with the c-section, i was only washed once, and had 2 or 3 pad changes. Was sitting up on my own within a few hours of delivery and had at least 30 people visit me on the first day. I didn't get any form of baby blues, no tears at all. Wanted to leave a day early and everything came so naturally to me. Seemed like my instruction manual for Em was inside of me. She ate, slept, pooped, cried very little. Pure bliss.

I was however crapped out for a high hight for telling a pregnant friend that don't worry it comes naturally. Cause clearly isn't doesn't, and I was very blessed.

LOL Thanks ladies, I guess 3-4 days of "dignity out the door" is a small price to pay 3 more weeks to go - YEAH!!!
