Julz NO ONE mentions all of this when describing a c-section so I am so overwhelmed when I hear the truth being told on Moomie. I am so ashamed of my body so much so that I refuse to even change in front of DH and I am freaked out by this info! It seems like I am finding out more and more about what this delivery will be like and its not sitting well with me at all.

I figured when the moment came and a strange woman who I did not know was changing my sanitary pad and we were talking about some arb show on television, I figured we had past the mark of where it matters anymore.

Ya common misconception that you won't bare all at a c section. Tiv they do remove the gown to wipe you down with disinfectant in the theatre and they will insert a catheter, but it all takes a minute or two and I didn't know that my gown was off as I had already had the spinal. I still blush when I see the paed. Not sure what he saw. Dr A has seen it all already so no worries there.

They will then clean you up afterwards and check your pad for bleeding etc as they would a vaginal birth.

The first day after your c-section you are pretty much like a sack of potatotoes so cannot move around.

Them trying to put the robe on you and take if off everytime they need to do something is exhausting for everyone, and sore for you.

It really is better to opt to throw the robe off, just have your sheet and blanket over you, and that way everyone can take a look see and do what they need to do without it hurting you.

2nd c-section I had an allergic reaction to the morphine and developed an itch over every inch of my body that I cannot describe.

I opted for no clothes - and just the sheet over me, as my skin was on fire. They put me in a room by myself, and just put the air-conditioner on warm.

I also am a bit "listen do not look at my flabby bits" but I must confess when a baby comes out your yahoo or via the sunroof, at that point everyone at the janitor has had a look see - I really stopped caring very much who saw what and when.

I think that is what made breastfeeding when not at home also a non-issue for me.

Sad that I am so at home in hospital. Even when dylan was in this year I was fine. As soon as I was back home with him the wheels started falling off.

I have had 7 surgeries in 3 years so Panorama is home to me. I just feel safe there.

I ask neil should I take Dylan to the paed and he says you are the mom. You women just know these things. Ya right.

Incidentally, why would you be naked after the 1st day when you have a c-section?? I have a serious serious issue with my body and am extremely shy and would flip at the thought of anyone seeing anything they shouldnt.

hahahaha RM you are too funny. I think every woman who has had a baby deserves an award of some sort.

1st Timer u are a sucker for punishment...already talking about no. 2??? Yikes! But your baby is lovely, I can understand why you would want another.

Julz - Dylan is just too gorgeous!
