Morning Ladies

I'm having the worst time trying to log on to this site.

Hope you and the nunu's are all doing well. am loving the warmer weather these days.

I'm starting antenatal classes at 28 weeks and they are held every second Saturday from 9-1pm. Thats just great because I wont have to take time off work to attend.

barbs- so you did pyschology? It's my worst module to date. I did Industrial psych and Public Management instead. Pure psychology was just too boring. How did you do it?

mutha2b- I hope you're getting yourself checked out today.

Champers- please do come and share what you learned in class today.

Enjoy your day ladies- If I dont respond it's because I get kicked out .

Hi GML - thanks for the welcome!
We're living in North West - a town called Lichtenburg. I'm a farmer's wife, but work as Occupational Therapist in the public sector (No, I'm not striking!!!). ;)

We're keeping the bay's sex as a BIG surprise - not that I'm dead curious, though! We had a 4d scan sneek preview last month, and te baby looks JUST like my husband - now the grandfather is absolutely convinced that it will be a boy that can be taught about John Deeres and cattle.... The grandmothers hope for a pink girl to dress up, though. No pressure! To us, it really doesn't matter, as long as everything turns out fine.

Next appointment at the gynae is on 3 Sept, we plan to take the grandmothers along, they are sooooo excited!

Well, I'm off to home now - chat again soon!

Mutha2B, PLEASE PLEASE go to the doc/hospital. There is no shame in going to the hospital.

"As your pregnancy progresses, Braxton Hicks contractions tend to come somewhat more often, but until you get to your last few weeks, they'll probably remain infrequent, irregular, and essentially painless. Sometimes, though, Braxton Hicks contractions are hard to distinguish from early signs of preterm labor.

Play it safe and don't try to make the diagnosis yourself. If you haven't hit 37 weeks yet and you're having more than four contractions in an hour — or you have any other signs of preterm labor (see below) — call your caregiver immediately.

By the time you're within a couple of weeks of your due date, your contractions may get more intense and more frequent, and they may cause some discomfort. Unlike the earlier painless and sporadic Braxton Hicks contractions, which caused no obvious cervical changes, these contractions may help your cervix "ripen" — gradually soften and thin out (efface) and maybe even dilate a bit. This period is sometimes referred to as pre-labor.

When should I call my doctor or midwife?
Call your caregiver right away if you haven't reached 37 weeks and your contractions are becoming more frequent, rhythmic, or painful, or if you have any of these possible signs of preterm labor:

• Abdominal pain, menstrual-like cramping, or more than four contractions in an hour (even if they don't hurt)

• Any vaginal bleeding or spotting

• An increase in vaginal discharge or a change in the type of discharge — if it becomes watery, mucusy, or bloody (even if it's only pink or blood-tinged)

• Increased pelvic pressure (a feeling that your baby's pushing down)

• Low back pain, especially if it's a new problem for you

If you're past 37 weeks, there's no need to call your doctor or midwife just for contractions until they last about 60 seconds each and are five minutes apart — unless your caregiver has advised you otherwise."

Miksmommy, I am pleased that you got to see the bubba again. Glad all is well.

GML, I am SO tired. I have to have my afternoon nap everyday. This morning I woke up at 3am and couldn't sleep again.

Mutha2B, please keep us posted...

Good day all!
I'm new to this whole forum-thing, but so glad to have someplace to share with other pregnant ladies!!

We're expecting our first baby on 21 Dec, great excitement!! :woohoo:
Had some trouble conceiving, me diagnosed with PCOS and hubby low sperm quality. Dr's advised us to go for fertility treatment, but before we could get around to saving the money(!!!!!), I was pregnant naturally!! God is so good and true to His word!

Just reading through your previous posts put my mind so much at ease - just knowing that what I'm experiencing is just normal! One are so stooooopid the first time around. It took me a long time to start enjoying my pregnancy, just because I was so afraid that something would go wrong! Crazy, ne... But now I'm getting used to the feelings, and wasn't that first flutter of my baby the BESTEST feeling!!! It's such a great blessing, isn't it!

But stand strong ladies - I'm desperate for some information and will ask a lot of questions - hope you don't mind!!

Have a great day.
