yes that is true , the expenses are killing, my sister in law is pregnant now after her fourth time of IVF , and she is a paed works with kids daily and just could not fall pregnant. But thank god she has now. She also only has one ovary left producing eggs and the last time they could only get 2 eggs out and nothing took.
Julz , you will be in our thoughts and prayers. It kills me to think that some people can be sprouting babies anytime and don't want them and the people who do want babies can't

Katz my ovaries are failing so I would have to use donor eggs for IVF which makes it a far more difficult thing to consider. Lets not even talk about the expense either.

Nixie , i think when u come from a big family then u would want a big family.

Julz , would you not consider a surrogate mother , it would still be your child right

AND MY PARENTS MISCARRIED TRIPPLETS IN THEIR 3RD TRIMENSTER SO WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN 7 KIDDIES!!! I WANT 2 OR MORE AND HUBBY WANTS 4! OUR SON IS ONLY 3MONTHS OLD NOW AND EVEN IF ITS HARD WORK WITH ENDLESS NIGHTS WITH LITTLE SLEEP MY LITTLE BOY NEEDS A LIFELONG COMPANION AND FRIEND! AS I COULD NOT IMAGINE MY LIFE WITHOUT MY SIBLINGS

Thanks Katz. Sadly the decision rested in the hands of my doc and partner. They had no choice though.

I see the blessings daily of having one child though. Still would have another though.

Julz , i really feel for you , from all your messages , it seems to be a decision not to have come to lightly.

I also wanted just one child , well fell pregnant quite young and had a terrible birth , scarred me for life , then i got broody 10 years later and then had my little girl. I still want another one but not all the pain

Change one thing I have learned with a whole lot of therapy is the worries that we have are our own. We think they will be lonely and we think that they will be alone in the big wide world, but maybe they won't be. I really try to not decide for my child how he will feel.

Only children can be very happy for other reasons. We as people always think we need others to complete us which shouldn't be the case.

I would have more kids as Dylan loves other kids so much, but I can't so we make the best of the situation. I never wanted an only child for the lonely reason but what can I do. So now he goes to daycare where he is totally loved by all. He is happy and funny. I have playdates lined up and he is already getting loads of party invites. I doubt he will be a lonely child.

I know that if something were to happen to us, Dylan would be so well looked after by anyone of my dear family or friends.
