Hello ladies. Sorry so quiet. So I started bleeding this morning. I am so sad, but there's nothing to do but keep going. I rushed off to the fertility clinic to get my next course of clomid which I need to start on Sunday. Hope you all have a lovely week-end. x

And...AF is here

On the positive side, I've decided to visit Dr Dalla at Cape Gate MC. :) If anyone has more info on her, please let me know.

Thanks ladies.

Sterretjie - I to have so many bad habits which i need to kick to the curb, i think once i have had my sit down with the doc today i am definitely going to have good reason to get going with working towards better health.

I am just so glad that you are a true reflection of what big things can happen when a person takes just a few small steps.

Thanks for the motivation to keep moving forward and to never give up. ;)

Miss Hopefull- all the best with your results today.

I got my results beginning of May and I ask the dr if I should go to a dietician - he said that he has never came across a dietician that successfully treated Insulin Resistance. He told me that as long as I eat bread (and anything else associated with flour) and sugar I can forget about losing weight. The only bread I know eat is Rye Bread and also twice a week. I don’t take sugar in my coffee anymore (I have never been able to kick this habit but because this time around my mind is set on losing weight and having a second child I am now so use to not having sugar). Also if I want a chocolate I will have small piece – it is no longer having one a day. I had some terrible habits that had to be kicked right out of this universe but so far so good. Since the beginning of May I have lost just over 6kg’s and about 10cm around my waist.

What he told me re the dietician made complete sense. I went to a well know dietician about 2 years ago and she just chatted to me and gave me a menu – no blood tests etc. If you can find a dietician that is willing to go through all types of tests then it is great. Also look at the amount of sugar on the labels of food. I was shocked to see the other day that my favourite Jelly beans has 72grams of sugar in a little package – no fat but a hell of a lot of sugar. Also stay away from Gas cooldrinks and Fruit Juice – Appeltizer / Grapetizer is a far better option. Even the so called “Sugar Free” cooldrinks. According to my Dr even some of the “low fat”; “Fat Free”; “Low GI’s” have been through so many processes that is not as healthy as what we tend to believe. Have your fruit and veggies with chicken and fish. Also be careful of potatoes and rice (apparently brown rice is even worse than Basmati rice). I am in no way an expert but I have followed his orders and I can see (and feel) a huge difference

In 2009 I went for a Myomectomy and my Gyne told me at my check up that if I am not pregnant by January 2010 we need to chat re IVF etc. I started eating healthy and took my medication and exercise like crazy and like I mentined April 2010 I got my first ever positive pregnancy test and she is almost 2 years and 6 months old.

All the best and let us know what the outcome is!!!!
